Lets Play The Temple Of Elemental Evil
So, he lived to tell the tale... I could have told Tig that whacking a zombie on the head with a staff is no good. THere is a reason for why they always scavenge for "Brainsss..." *Gorth sits down and starts singing about gold* (bonus points to anyone geeky enough to get the last reference)

Mindless Entertainment + High Quality = ???
Is there a Bubble Bobble for Windows? The most fun and addictive co-op I remember from days past. Mindless and mindnumbing (especially the tune) but you just can't let it go when started.

Lets Play The Temple Of Elemental Evil
Heh, i still have a shortcut to them on my web browser. Even downloaded it back when I heard all the "horror" stories about the vanilla game. I might want to re downloload it, as it might have been updated the last 12-24 months.

Lets Play ToEE: Characters
- Mindless Entertainment + High Quality = ???
Hmmm... what fits that description of games currently installed? Painkiller: Resurrection (first person shooter) Zombie Driver (racing game, ram and splatter as many zombie pedestrians as possible) Archon (violent chess) Easy to get into stuff, no mental preparation, just start up, kill a few half hours then abandon it without feeling any great sense of loss If all else fails, there is Spider Solitaire which usually comes with Windows.- Lets Play ToEE: Characters
Gorth... a bard?... Need to practise the lute solo, including smashing the lute against the tavern furniture towards the end of the performance- Lets play?
Voted IWD2 and Storm of Zehir (Other)- Software for burning discs
What are your burning needs? I bought Cyberlinks Power2Go a while ago. Mostly because I needed something quick to burn dual layer blu-rays (backing up stuff from my computer that hadn't really been backed up for a decade)- A roleplaying campaign blog (WHFRP)
Is he going to recover fully? Yeah, waiting here for the continuation- Ironman: Icewind Dale
Hungry? I guess he just saved his butt there...- What are you playing now
Whats your starting race/ship? I've only played it as a human so far, starting out the the fair sized ship and bank account. I eventually made it a priority to upgrade ship speed and do missions to accumulate wealth. Scavenging when the big boys fight is a great source of income for upgrades too. Never leave home without a gripper (or buy a hull that doesn't allow one)- Wikileaks founder framed for rape?
There is always the option that he is guilty, there is also the option that he became the victim of a pair of "groupies" wanting a bit of fame for themselves... happens to rock bands all the time, but I suppose it is more fun to think up big conspiracy theories, even if the guy has no redeeming qualities.- What are you playing now
Are you playing the original or Lost Company? Either way, as you said, they're fun, old-school FPSes. I bought both from Gamersgate, but currently just playing NecroVision (even though I know the sequel is actually a prequel)- Ironman: Icewind Dale
The party had too many elves anyway (said the human racist)- Sweden is the worlds 3rd best country
Well, if they are indeed increasing the GST Rate, that is in itself a bad sign. Especially since it is not likely to be a spending curbing measure, but rather to patch holes in the states finances.- The moon is shrinking!
Like this: The Architect? Replace "The Architect" with a copy of the story Edit: In a related story, the shrinking Moon is really not a serious problem, as the Moon is moving further and further away from Earth. Eventually Earths gravity will not be enough to keep the Moon in orbit and it will pack up and leave.- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!, just a dumping ground
See, this is where you go wrong. The very thing that makes JA2 is its combat and its combat mechanics. Sure, it has some quirky characters and fun dialogues, but at its heart, it is the combat you spend 90% of the time doing. It sure isn't the generic island setting or the simple gfx. So, take out the 90% of the game that made it stand out from the crowd and make it yet another rts? What would be it's selling point? Grey goo #238? A pox upon Westwood Studios All because they decided to compensate for a mediocre and uninspired Dune release by adding more "twitch" to Dune 2, hoping that it could make up for it's short comings by adding a contrived sense of urgency by moving all the counters on the board at once. Unfortunately, it turned out in the long run to be financially successful formula that killed off innovation. Therefore we are still, 20 years later, stuck with same old, same old. Sure, sometimes they tried changing the viscosity of the goo, sometimes trying lighter or darker shades of grey, but in the end, it is still the same old stale, grey goo.- Ironman: Icewind Dale
You could replace him with Nick-i-am- What are you playing now
NecroVision. Good old fashioned FPS ultra violence Not quite as slick as Painkiller, but quite Ok. Besides that, a bit of Nationstates.- Mafia II
It is a mafia game, what did you expect?- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!, just a dumping ground
See, that is exactly the attitude that killed off good tactical games (and a lot of other genres). Why turn it into RTS #237 when there are already 236 pre-existing ones? They are re-skinned action games with the focus on action and it's games mechanics designed aroung keeping up a certain pace. It joined the club of Action-Roleplaying games (more action, less rpg), Action-Adventure games (more action, less adventure) and now Real Time (action) Strategy (Lots of action, strategy paid a token lip service to) etc. Like it or not, there are still a group of people (i.e. ME!) who likes things the other way around and slap their foreheads when people out there wants whatever franchise in a completely different genre to turn into an Action-Something (more action, less something), hence my previous comment about grey goo. It just becomes a remake with no relevance other than name recognition.- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!, just a dumping ground
Not saying it isn't possible, but I haven't seen a good combination of real time and tactical squad based combat yet. Much less anything that combines action games and strategy. The only thing that came close was the Infinity Engine games and they weren't genuine real time games (nor able to handle three dozen individuals).- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!, just a dumping ground
They better play it safe. If the player runs the risk of being exposed to impending fun, they can always throw real-time action, QTE's and minigames at the player to protect him against a joyful experience. Minigames are particularly effective at ensuring a title ends up in the grey goo that seems to be the majoritys favourite these days. Gaming gruel for the people- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!, just a dumping ground
"Adressing the weak spots".... what weak spots?!? The game will now have have 3d cutscenes and more explosions. Ah yes, not enough immersion, cinematic, epic, heroic, hand holding, spoon feeding etc. - Mindless Entertainment + High Quality = ???
