  1. What's the current price tag on Death Stars?
  2. Played the downloadable demo of Disciples III for a while. Then a bit more just to make sure I wasn't imagining things the first time. Ye Gods it's bad Plain, dull, boring. Utterly bad voice acting (no sepulchral voice here telling you "Bethrezen is dying..."), music that is... best ignored, graphics that are a step back from the gorgeous looking predecessors. Everything screams Bad Kings Bounty rip off (without any of the good qualities).
  3. ...I knew I was gonna be a big star some day My astronomy is a bit rusty. Do these things explode or implode? Probably going to leave a bit of a mess behind.
  4. Ehh... so The Sigillite is playing a game of MMO Excel?
  5. Thread given a temporary stay of execution while appeal is being processed...
  6. Probability of this thread having outlived its usefulness rapidly approaching 1...
  7. There is a subtle, but important difference between a joke that is funny and a joke where you need to explain the joke afterwards. Sometimes the difference is in the delivery. Fallout 1 went for fast, furious and ridiculous over the top comic book deaths in places. I get the impression FO3 was about dragging it out and prolonging semi-realistic death animations? I could of course be wrong since I haven't played FO3
  8. I once needed to roll a measly 9 on a total of 7 dice in a game of WH40K to deliver a serious blow to my mortal enemy (my little brother). It came up six 1's and a 2. I lost the game. And I lost a squad of terminators in one round in 2e 40k (3+ on 2d6) I got a few things wrong in my post... it was WH40K Epic (2nd edition) and it was 8 on 6 dice, no less frustrating though. Trying to guess distances to the enemy lines for my Pulsa Rokkit battery. Ended up nuking my own vanguard. Then my Weirdboyz blew up the neighbourhood and the madboyz panicked, starting to lob grenades all over the place. 2/3 of my army dead and the enemy hadn't really contributed to the killing yet.
  9. Damn! Ehh... Flowery names? Azalea Bego
  10. Republic of Benin? So, Nigeria is not good enough for 419 scams anymore.
  11. Well, you can still loose ~20h of your life, but it's not really that bad if you know what to expect. That's the thing, not really expecting much. First there was the DRM thing (I read that the 1.1 patch removed the limited activations), then people complained about this and that. All I've ever seen from it are the youtube trailers. You could say curiosity simply got the better of me
  12. A pox upon GG and their sales. Ended up with Bioshock (at $7, how much can you really lose?) and East India Company. Only downloaded them though, still playing Space Rangers 2. It is strangely addictive
  13. I'm not convinced. The way people in love seems to lose all their mental faculties is scary
  14. I once needed to roll a measly 9 on a total of 7 dice in a game of WH40K to deliver a serious blow to my mortal enemy (my little brother). It came up six 1's and a 2. I lost the game. Russian gambling syndicate offers 100.000 Euro for Octopus Plus a monthly salary of $5000 (his fellow human specialistst make $3000). The German Aquarium turned down the offer.
  15. The Guv'ners (aka the Fraternity of Order)? I think it was the Guv'ners (and the guys name was Able Ponderthought iirc)
  16. Been there, tried that, They didn't listen
  17. Fair point. Not a lot of snow and ice around where I live
  18. But will freeze my tuchas off in sub zero temps. Somebody forgot to tell the Canadians that
  19. I'd like to know as well (same reasons). What is your opinion of Monolith's 'Blood'? This only makes more and more interested in playing Gothic 2. Indeed... I have Gothic 2, and was seriously looking at GOG's Painkiller:Black edition. Painkiller is sheer unadulterated non-stop violence from start to stop. A not uninteresting underlying story and some really weird/creepy levels every now and then. My favourite FPS I have both Kings Bounty: The Legend and Armoured Princess. The later is probably more fine tuned than the first. I haven't completed neither yet though. So, whats the verdict on Disciples III. I'm dying of curiosity here. As many details and impressions as you can. Even better if you can compare pros and cons to Disciples II. It's on my wishlist, but I read a lot of negative feedback (from old Disciples II fans) on various forums.
  20. The Trial and Crossroad Keep are the highlights, the Warehouse and Orc Caves the "stains". The rest is a bit on the bland side. It sort of shows that too many cooks participated in that dish. Especially the orc caves irritated me because I played a ranger in my very first playthrough, using my tracking skils and stealth. Completely useless skills in OC when your orc hordes are instant spawns when you hit trigger plates.
  21. I couldn't spell Haer'dalis, couldn't remember Anomens name (that whiny guy) and I completely forgot about Valygar. Not too shabby I guess. I wouldn't take a stab at BG1, as I've only ever completed it twice. Not too familiar with Planescape factions, didn't try it. From top of my head, Sensates, Dustmen, Xaoxisects (sp?), Godsmen, Harmonium and Mercy Killers (pretty much what I remember from PS:T). What was that thing that bureaucrats (the researcher guy in the Clerks Ward) were a member of?
  22. Get a motorcycle. Easy to get around and find parking in urban areas and you won't bang your head against the roof
  23. You guys just ruined my world view. The last 40 years I've been carelessly crossing streets on foot, secure in the knowledge that I have statistics on my side. I mean, nobody gets run over and almost killed by a car twice, right? Well, wrong it seems. Thanks guys
  24. The warehouses and orc caves. Major detractors/fun killers Getting the hang of Space Rangers 2. Still need to work on my sense of money and get a feel for what is cheap and what not. Both trade items and equipment. Quite fun so far.
