  1. In time for engaging in a SEKRIT PRODJEKT, finished writing a videogame review in a very NGJ way. It tingles.
  2. The Codex brings some good (and understandably bad) memories. I enjoyed working as part of the staff but ever since I quit, I haven't thought twice nor visited the forums again. At some point, someone whips ups their Retardotron MkII and manages to corrupt the level of intelligence. Trudging through to find it is more of an exercise in masochism than genuine interest in the site or its theme of discussion. If you could oust the bad seeds, drop the whole "we won't ever gobble down your ****, Mr. Developer Man, except if you're Tim Cain or some indie developer no one ever heard about" and have a slightly more open attitude, and bump up the level of moderation, it would be sweet. As it stands, it was a fun experience but it was time to move on and grow.
  3. Fallout like "Mike gorgeously kickdrops Bad Man From the Corrupted Agency for 3507 points of stylish damage, who travels 30 ft. into the air then collapses on the ground, spitting blood and lungs?", or Fallout like "How much for a rimjob, Tandy?"? Actually, I hope it's not much like Fallout, in the sense that I'm fine with character skill governing some of his aptitudes but don't want to see that much of a static model of development. I'd be totally willing to part with those skill-increasing books and invest in actual physical development of the character. I can't proficiently argue about Rimbaud just by reading his books, after all. What's Mike have that I don't? Digital philistine.
  4. What they probably mean is you'll be able to choose how many gallons of blood enemies will gush out. "You want some of this, foo?", and whats-his-name either quickdraws and snubs the jerk out with a single, magical bullet that blows his head off, or does a Ninja Scroll on him. Choices! Just kidding. Seems interesting at this point. Thanks for the update Oh, and, I think I once posted here about how I was banned from the Codex by that cheap, malaysian e-thug. But not the other way around, IIRC.
  5. I don't know if "low level enemies" is a concern, or if it's present in the game, but it seems like a stretch. Presumably, someone with enough skill and the right - stealthy - opportunity can off an opponent wheter said opponent is a neophyte or a professional. Hell, a bullet doesn't care if you can dropkick someone to Baghdad or only fight like a seven year old. Am I going to be forced to level up whats-his-name so he can do more damage with bullets and perform one-hit kills?
  6. Er, no. I wasn't banned. What, has Llyranor been lying about me again? That jerk.
  7. Heya Pide! I said I'd pay a visit Good to see you again, Mus. Er, even if I just see what you type. Start printing out those fanclub cards since I might have some surprises in store in the next couple of months. As for direction, any talk about how AP might handle morals in the context of spy or secret service agent? Are we going to see a Bauer-styled jugular biting, human shield-totting and kneecap shooting, or a more traditional approach? And by traditional I totally mean doing your ninja thing and just whirling the Wiimote to answer yes or no when asked about the future of mankind.
  8. Banned myself from life, more like it. Not really back, just cruisin'. Seems if I don't keep up with stuff then there's an avalanche of stuff to watch out for later on. I only learned about AP today, on a completely unrelated web search, on a computer that's not my own.
  9. Looks purdy. Would have prefered a Team Fortress 2 art direction and some of that No One Lives Forever charm, though. Have no idea what the hell happened while I was away, though.
  10. Ronaldo, Schmonaldo.
  11. It's th first time I hear being on the butt end of attention disorders is fun. But then, the bar was set so low to begin with. Friend, that's not the only thing you'll never be able to understand.
  12. I didn't make any special case for Thief, just briefly highlighted what some people feel about Thief versus the traditional representations of gameplay surrounding rogues in cRPGs. That's the full extent of the statement. But feel free to be a git and take it out of context to suggest it's a nonsensical tautology, and that more will follow. I guess pointing out the obvious is contagious. Nowhere does it say cRPGs are all about stealth mechanics, but neither does it say that stealth mechanics can't incorporate elements from other genres.
  13. Why bother? You know how this goes: a couple of idiots will miss the point and say I'm wrong, a handful of people will find some merit in it and will try to discuss it until some jackass starts arguing semantics for three pages, and someone that works at Obsidian will dismiss all of it based on a cursory glance and great knowledge and skill over the subject matter that will never be shown.
  14. Stuck between a "RAWR" and your hard place!

  15. It's a reputation boost around these parts.
  16. Great. So trying out this side mission of CapAmer where he needs to disarm three bombs and kick Winter Soldier's leather-wrapped butt, it seems I can't disarm the bombs in a single attempt. Out of 12 so far only one resulted in disarming all three and reaching the missile, at which point I lost because I only got the keycard two seconds too late. Twitchy as I may be, I can't always get the timing right. Should I even bother? I mean, seriously, what is it with these mother****ing minigames for disarming these mother****ing bombs? It wasn't fun in Final Fantasy VII, it isn't fun now after every douchebag started imitating the trend.
  17. Hey, welcome back Monte Carlo
  18. Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Just finished the Helicarrier level with the base team. Seems like a very fun game, but control with the keyboard is fubar and I don't have the will to dig out my gamepad which is in one of the 23 unmarked cardboard boxes scattered around the house. Speaking of which, does anyone know if 1) the Hulk in the game as a playable character? I want to assemble the New Fantastic Four - the Hulk, Ghost Rider, Spider and Wolv and have them smash things up. And 2) what's up with these reputations I keep hearing about? Am I going to get penalized for taking different teams or team members on different assignments? I was thinking of rolling up the ol' FF for the Omega Base, or take four heroes of my choosing. Will there be a problem? Now, if only the major cinematics were made to reflect our current team... And if only we could also play a mirror campaign as the villains... I want to play as Dr. Doom, dammit! :/
  19. Well, all games are hard to Finnish.
  20. Freelancer Doom 3 Oblivion Warcraft 3 Morrowind Mechwarrior 4 Dungeon Siege
  21. So now I can use the power of my mind to unzip Alyx's jeans. Only this time, it will actually work!
  22. Not even baby Jesus with a PipBoy Linguistic Enhancer and the Smooth Talker perk would be able to make sense of that.
  23. Maybe they could use this system to develop a game based on this movie. I'd buy that.
  24. How would STALKER perform on an Intel Core Duo@2.14Ghz, with 1GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 7600GT? Worth a shot or upgrade something? And by upgrade I mean robbing the hardware store.
