Grazes in this case mean nothing because in IE games graze would be a successful save vs spell which would mean 0 effect. And you cannot look at it by number or attacks. Someone having a slow weapon and having slow armor is already much less dangerous to your party than someone doing damage often. You should not confuse those, but those that are more dangerous. Slow ones with good armor, better to give them armor penalty or give your guys more accuracy so you have greater chance to do a critical hit. I am not saying 10s is good enough, but I don't think we need 42 seconds base time, from what I seen all combat is done by then.

Cohhcarnage and Lirik are two streamers I watched. I cba to find specific videos of their streams, you can google it if you want. BTW, there is also nothing stopping those giving 10 from doing so without playing the game. I would say, best thing is to watch a live stream and decide by yourself. I watched it for few hours (mostly starting areas) and decided I don't care about the game. I would not even pirate it if I could.

Well you can see this stutter on live streams. I watched two professional streamers yesterday and both had this stutter on good machines.

Well confusion in IE lasted minimum 7 rounds which turns into 42 seconds. Since all actions are faster in PoE, 42 seconds is too long for PoE. So 10 seconds + what you get from high Intellect (about 5seconds more?!) makes the overall time not that bad. And it is a lvl 2 spell which is much better than in IE. Now I wonder why is Sleep in PoE lvl 4 (or was it 5) and also lasts 10s only if this lvl 2 spell is 10s base. Apparently there is a lvl 4 wizard spell Confusion that is same as this lvl 2 but lasts only 6s ?!

Maybe 1 per month in topics in beta forums. And maybe 1 per month makes a more general post about new things being added or changed.

Fast attacks would not be a problem if damage done was not so big. Or if most attacks were not a hit or graze. If they went back to miss/hit/critical system everyone would live longer even with smaller endurance numbers. And DT system would work better as it would not turn grazes into almost nothing (the problem being here that having big DT or small DT creates a too big of a difference in damage received since when not hit you will be grazed).

Even if he does not have the last word on everything he is still one in charge and responsible for it so he is one to blame for each design that is worse than in IE games.

You are patently incorrect in your statement. Outside of the restricted narrative and areas, what you are seeing in the beta is the sum of PoE's systems. The exception would be towards the talent selection, as they were deliberately waiting to implement those. What's offensive is how many of the implementations are explicitly to Josh Sawyer's personal preferences, rather than to the expectations they sold this game on. I would like Sawyer to make a statement here, in fact. this is true and unacceptable. Small chance of that.

No lol, you comment goes against goals of the game. Goal being a IE inspired game, not a MMORPG inspired game like you just described. What we want is more than a ranged magic damage dealing class as IE games had. No class in IE was described with one thing and that was the power of those game unlike what came after which gave one and only one function to each class and called it "evolution". I call it crap.

From what I seen people are offering fixes on what is offered in beta. And developers don't have this whole other cool game that is not offered in beta as far as mechanics go. At best they have few weeks of additional fixes and features. -

Hero harass was the reason why I could never get into 1v1 WC3 and just continued to play Starcraft instead. -
I noticed that when enemies are a few levels higher than party it almost becomes an impossible fight. So it kind of limits the freedom of exploration in a similar way to D:OS. And talking if someone has a gay agenda or not is not talking about the game.

I am very sad too see how close PoE combat is to what DAI has (and DAO did). I actually forgot the details of DAO combat as I have not played it for a long time but after watching DAI streams I see it is I always hit base mechanic and the whole tactical game comes down to managing/reducing damage and rotating cc abilities. In IE you could reduce hit chance of enemy (main tactic) or reduce hit damage through Stoneskin or Mirror Image and some other spells. Or you could become immune to weapons for 4 rounds. In PoE, hit/graze mechanic is closer to Dragon Age than IE. And encounter abilities to me sound a lot like cooldown cc abilities from Dragon Age games. Dragon Age is inspired by MMO combat and I am sad to see PoE also using a similar system. -
Lets talk about the game for a change here?!!??! After watching some more streams, the effects and camera that is way too close (in both tactical and standard) make the combat barely readable. Similar to how we complain PoE is at the moment. At least there is no engagement mechanic and the gameplay involves both positioning, moving during combat and a bit of kiting from time to time. I must add that I don't like it how each hit does damage (well this has been a problem from DAO) and battle management only comes down to reducing damage and rotating party cc abilities. That is boring MMO combat. Normally I would not mention this but PoE is going to be using a similar system with its hit/graze system (with miss and critical playing a smaller role).

I been watching the streams a bit, and gameplay sucks. No tactics needed, especially with ranged characters. You just control one, spam autoattack and some spell on cooldown. No tactics or strategy except on deciding when to use healing potions LOL. Now I understand why they implemented this healing system as they understood the crappyiness of the game. After crappy gameplay of ME3 I didn't know Bioware could do worse lol. At least you can equip your character unlike DA2. And I read how most quests are MMO style, I am not sure what is here to play. So far the game is not even worth pirating for me. And that protection will not survive long. People who break these protection don't do it to play games for free but as a challenge for their knowledge and intellect. And they are hell more motivated and have more time than people that create these protections. At best EA/Bioware will buy a few day and MAYBE get a bit more sales from people that would normally pirate the game but don't want to wait for crack.

I would guess it should not be too hard to also change spell levels and also give spells from other classes to wizards and such. The problem is that enemy spellcasters might not have access to those spells and by doing this the whole game might become super easy.

Are you actually serious? Do you mean to tell me that animated vegetation is some huge sales factor? Yes, because out of all the animations this has been most asked about feature.

I just fought a Dragon in IWDEE made for a lvl 13+ party. The mage was least useful in that fight and my melee Paladin and ranged Archer did most damage. And through most of the combat in IWDEE those two do most damage. Now you can say "but if I wanted I could solo the game with Mage but I could not solo it with a Paladin" to which I say, "I don't fracking care for fringe cases, in full 6 man party Mages don't steal the show". BWT, spell Prismatic Eyes is the coolest spell ever. I hope we see spells of such ambition in PoE 2 at some point.
