Sony Vaio Type G series
I suppose SSD is a big factor for the battery life. Finally a laptop that can last at least one flight. However the one thing I distinctly remember about Sony laptops is that they are ridiculously overpriced.

Movies You Have Seen Lately
Spiderman 3: The Drama. Dammit, how long was it when I last watched a popcorn movie. It was good in all its badness. ... And I was drunk.

RAM: Quality vs Quantity
I guess that depends on how much you need to avoid using the swap. I have 2Gb, and swap space is never used whatever memory hog I use in my system. So for me the bottleneck is memory speed now. I can't imagine you needing more than 2Gb of memory on a desktop computer. On the other hand, I haven't played any games lately, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

What did you want to be?
Ditto. And I became a software engineer.

Saving Private Ryan
I think he means because of deformation caused by the bullet (which I doubt too), not the momentum of the bullet. PS And I doubt it would detonate. So far I haven't heard of a single case where a tank was disabled by a shot in the barrel.

Van Buren ("FO3") trailer time!
I did not like the music. It is not Fallout style and I'm quite worried now. I could not care less about rules system or hairy deathclaws, but the original Fallout atmosphere is a must. And it seems to be in the process of being ruined.

STL is excellent, when you use it. But if you look in the internal headers, you can see how hairy they are. I mean, they are still pretty wonderful, just ugly (since we are talking about ugliness here).

Favourite Development Language & Enviroment
I recommend that you to take a look in STL headers (in include/c++/<version>/bits/).

A lot of beginners have trouble with the concept of object-oriented programming, that's why our first year university programming course is going to switch from Java to Python (I personally have been marking a lot of really terrible Java code). Java is a good object-oriented application programming language, but procedural thinking should be set straight first. And Perl is very good to hack together useful and usable things quickly, just what a newbie wants. I'm not advocating Perl as "the one and the only", but given a choice between the two, I'd go for Perl first.

DirectX 10 in WIndows XP
As much as I want it to be true, the project is still very very very young and is far from being production ready. WINE was around since 1993 and it still cannot achieve complete compatibility. On the other hand, Vista-XP compatibility layer should be easier than Windows-*nix.

You, sir, are wrong.

Perl is definitely easier. You can find plenty of tutorials around the net, as well as Perl Cookbook which is helpful for standard tasks. You can also try writing CGI scripts in Perl for some variety.

Do not be fooled be the similarity of syntactic elements. C++ has a lot of details that you do not usually care about in a scripting language. And what do you want?

Is the use of child soldiers really that bad?
Uganda children soldiers. I concur.

You mean a good stress test for Bethesda forums, right? Or Invision PowerBoard.

Official Fallout Forums!
They even have a "What is an RPG?"-type topic now. Should have happened sooner or later.
