  1. Well, that's great. Perhaps now we'll see some actual marketing for this game?
  2. Well, where have you been taught, and by who? All I'm posting here I've read from books, so you could say I'm self-taught. I have no official credentials or anything. That's the opposite of what I said. Commercially available shakes are only good for convenience, if you are lazy, or if you don't have much imagination. What do you mean "it slows the system down"? And where do you get your nutrition facts? Cottage cheese is less than 10% fat. And if you absolutely, positively need to cut ALL fat from your diet (which is madness, btw), there's also a 0% variety. Cheap and high in protein. Does it get better? What for? What do you think your body does with the carbs it isn't burning? Yeah, it turns them into fat. We don't want that. One of the goals of exercise is burning calories, and those come mostly from carbs. Why would you want to replenish what you just burned? Of course, if your goal is to grow, you'll need to eat more calories, but in that case you're better off getting those from complex carbs that take a while to process. Simple carbs = bad. Or, you could just chow down a ton of candy after the workout. They are 100% fat-free, and the body demands that you replenish your glucose stockpiles! Protein is protein is protein. It doesn't matter if you get it from egg, whey or soybeans. Most muscular repairs happen while you're asleep, anyway. All I said is that a banana has, for a fruit, a high sugar content (about twice as a Granny Smith). I'm interested in that comment you made that insulin helps carry protein through the body. I don't think I've heard that before, can you elaborate? Again, protein is protein. I agree with your strategy, but that goes against what I said... how?
  3. It's at times like this when I feel great about not having a car (or a licence, for that matter). Sorry to be an ass. Glad it was nothing serious, though. You just couldn't resist, could you?
  4. Well, sure. The wiki I posted a few pages back actually recommends milk as one of the main sources of protein... it's just that a gallon a day is a bit too much for me. But hey, if you reckon that's what you need, more power to you. I'm hardly an expert or anything.
  5. Protein shakes are mostly a waste of money. They aren't useless and actually have a good amount of protein per serving, but the only real advantage over anything else is convenience. I recommend a handful of almonds (raw) or nuts right before your workout, and, for example, a serving of cottage cheese (oatmeal is a plus) right after. Don't bother with that fat-free crap, either. Starches are the enemy, not the fat in cheese. Aim for five-six meals a day, all of which should contain some sort of protein (the source doesn't matter), and you'll be fine. Milk is surprisingly low in protein (~3% in weight), and bananas are very high in sugars. Recommendable before a workout, not after.
  6. You're starting to repeat yourself. Look up Glass-Steagall. Tsk, tsk. That's a loaded question... Um, in case you have missed the last few pages, he has failed to convincingly support any of his claims, other than "the US is the biggest economy", which is an obvious fact, rather than an argument. This isn't about criticizing the US, really. It's about looking at things as they are. I admire the US, and I'd much rather have you guys be on top than China or Russia, Soviet or otherwise. Heh, I have considered living there, even. But you have to admit, you are in the hands of a plutocracy that uses and abuses the values your country was founded on and a very healthy feeling of patriotism to further their business interests worldwide, while feeding the general population, at home and abroad, some bull**** about freedom and democracy. Didn't the Founding Fathers regard with suspicion merely the idea of a standing army? What do you think they'd have to say about this "War is Peace" policy your country has systematically practiced since, hell, the war with Spain? Your prosperity has been paid for not in oil but in blood. You want to be imperialists? Sure, no problem. But at least be honest about it.
  7. Fixed. QA is seriously expensive, from what I gather. And I can only see it getting worse, with games increasing in complexity (technically, at least), and the willingness of the community to do the bugfixing by means of "unofficial" patches... Hehe. Bloodlines? I seriously doubt that's the last Vampire game we'll see.
  8. I suppose you aren't very good with colours, either. Either that, or you're implying that countries such as Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, Israel and Spain (rofl) aren't "developed". Pretty neat how you keep redefining everything so things appear to support your claims when all evidence points to the contrary. It's not. It's just another macroeconomic indicator. Have you studied those in school yet? http://earthtrends.wri.org/text/energy-res...riable-351.html Since I know you no longer bother to check the links (to save you the headache, perhaps?) I'm going to point out how Trinidad & Tobago, Bahrain, Qatar and a few more have a higher energy consumption (in kilograms of oil equivalent) per capita than the US. Does that indicate higher living standards in those countries?
  9. I think it isn't that people don't understand the numbers, what they don't understand are the economics behind those numbers. If you owe five grand, you have a fairly good idea of the effort, time and sacrifice it would take for you to repay that debt. If your country has a debt in the trillions, you have no idea where to start cutting expenses, what % of the GDP that is, and how long could reasonably take the country to repay that debt. It's only natural, as most people aren't economists.
  10. This is the key. It's ridiculous to expect companies to produce a $50M game and whose intended audience are the folks at NMA. Because really, really good ideas are difficult to come by. And by changing a few aspects that, for some people, are part of the original charm of the IP, you can cater to a greater audience.
  11. I was under the impression that Stalin had needed every last men he had to defend the USSR proper. If he had pressed on during the Winter War and a fraction of the Red Army was deployed over Finland, would Barbarossa have turned out as it did? Hypothetical scenarios sure are fun. I'm starting to believe that Hurlshot's assessment was spot on. That's for 2008 and 2009. When you're talking about "growth rate", the data I presented IS what you are referring to. Data from the 1950's or any other period is, well, outdated. Essentially what you are banging your chest about nonstop is that "the US is the biggest economy". So. ****ing. what. You also waste the most money on a standing military which, thanks to a BRILLIANT political leadership, can't beat a bunch of shepherds hidden in mountain caves. How about you present some numbers yourself, instead of making stuff up and squirming when presented with the real thing, you pathetic tool. An indicator only of your fatness.
  12. Uh, so? That's a macroeconomic indicator. It says nothing about living standards. No. We aren't accepting invented or imaginary statistics as evidence, m'kay? Oh, wait. Those that have greater growth rates than the US aren't "developed", right? How shrewd.
  13. Ugh. Well, at least you don't have to go through the whole "DATA CORRUPTED!" sequence if you want to change the colour of your beard. Speaking of which, the game is seriously lacking in that department! Load times were good. I hope that's the case with the full game.
  14. I thought they already had all the conventional bunker busters they needed. And also some bunker buster nukes. Pen
  15. A Pyrrhic victory is still technically a victory, eh?
  16. Actually, they were exactly like that.
  17. Counterproductive, indeed. It may even hurt their weapons deals! You gamey IC whore, you! OT: it's perfectly possible to annex Yugoslavia in 1940 after finishing the Frenchies if you leave Scandinavia alone. edit: changed link
  18. The Soviet Union most definitely invaded Finland after the war. The Soviets invaded in November, but war started August 30th 1939. Ignorant joke indeed. He actually edited his post to "correct" that! I feel my IQ has definitely decreased after this discussion. I'm calling it quits.
  19. I guess Wiki is just too difficult to use for some people. Here, WoD. Finally a link that supports your theories! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_count...PPP)_per_capita If only slightly.
  20. Uh, okay. HDI 2008 is ADJUSTED to take that into consideration, genius. I was talking about Krezack's per capita GDP genius. GDP per capita IS part of HDI. Lol, stop embarassing yourself already!
  21. The economic strangulation of Japan wasn't the only measure the US took against the Axis. Have you read the Hull ultimatum? So, since they couldn't embargo the Soviet Union's oil... they couldn't think of anything else to do, and they just sat back. I doubt they were really as stupid as you. Yeah, just like OECD statistics, right?
