Advertising is an important step for the gaming industry to take. TV, Radio, and magazines sustain themselves almost solely on advertising dollars. The gaming industry needs tools in order to show that people actually pay attention to such advertisements.
If y'all want the quality of games to continue to improve without raising the costs to the consumer, y'all need to accept that advertising is the industry's best option.
Really? Then how do they get the numbers like "10 million people tuned into Lost" and such? Questionnaires seem like they would be terribly unreliable. I know that the Neilson ratings system actually puts a box in homes that keeps track of viewing, and you have to volunteer for that.
Although I wouldn't put it past EA to bundle spyware, the truth is they are just tracking statistics like how long players look at the advertisements. The whole "tailoring advertisements based on your internet cookies" thing was debunked rather quickly.
How do TV stations and radio track what people are watching?
It's an impressive expansion, for sure. It's way above the EQ expansions in terms of value and appeal to casual gamers. The areas seem pretty gorgeous as well.
I'd still like some sort of player housing eventually, but with the maps it would have to be an instanced housing arrangement, like FFXI.
I'm just confused why they chose to give this project to a rookie director, particularly if the budget really is ballooning towards 200 million. If Jackson was actually directing, instead of just producing, it might have a shot at being a decent flick.
During the Olympics, I was waking up at 3 AM to watch hockey. It was awesome, I basically spent all morining doing it. It was during a vacation week, so I figured it was destiny. I even bought a new couch for the event.
So the reason they are torturing Sawyer is probably because one of the Other's got shot. That Deadwood chick is either dead or messed up. The voice that was yelling during the torture scene was not Henry Gale, so it's probably the Deadwood chick's man. He'll be clearly pissed off.
Wow, 1 AM games don't sound much better than 4 AM games. In fact, I'd rather wake up early than stay up that late. Hmm, I wonder if I'm looking at the timezones correctly.
Hmm, you could right click on any merc, and then ctrl-select all the portraits. I usually just drag a grid around all the mercs, but I guess if they are too far spread out, that doesn't work.
Carle is even more impressive than I imagined. I know everyone expects Malkin to take off with the Rookie of the year hardware, but if Carle keeps racking up the points AND playing solid D, I'm not sure how he won't win it.
Why do they even let Osgood play anymore? I swear I predicted the Sharks would chase him, although I didn't expect it so quickly.
But the trouble is, if Monkey Island was released today, even with updated graphics, people would trash it. It's only about 6 hours long with a walk through, and in this internet age, too many folks are impatient. It's sad.
Yes, it's incredibly awesome. It's like an entirely new game. The biggest thing for me was the resolution upgrade, as it really felt like a graphically improved game. I got about 30 hours in before I encountered some pretty serious bugs, but honestly it was worth it despite that. JA2 has long been one of my favorite games, and any mod that gives me another solid 30 hours of gameplay is a good one in my eyes.
When I was in Middle School, I was clearly starting to neglect important things like school so I could play games like Space Quest. My parents immediately took away my game access during the week. I used to be so excited to go home and play games on Friday.
But seriously, it was the best thing they could have done. It taught me the importance of self control. My grades rebounded, and I got plenty of gaming done on the weekends. Parents need to teach these things to their children, and adults need to take responsibility for their actions.
You did play for 5 months though. Honestly, if most games could keep my attention for that long, I'd spend a lot less on games every year. And exactly what game ISN'T a fruitless time sink?
One thing I noticed is that the head teacher said the assistant could NOT do their job effectively. I'm sorry, but he is the actual teacher in the classroom, and if he is having trouble with an assistant, it should be his right to have her removed.
Interesting cases. The jewelry argument might be a safety hazard. I'm assuming it's not just a cross that is against the rules. They are probably trying to avoid the risk of it catching anywhere. Isn't there clothing she can wear that doesn't expose the necklace?
The Muslim veil is a bit odd. Hades did say that it was a particular sect that required the veil, as must muslim women I know only feel the need to cover their hair. That does seem like it's more of a distraction than is warranted, but I think I'll look into the reasons behind viel wearing before I make an opinion.
