I'm a bit worried that trying to put them in chronological order when Howard himself wrote them somewhat randomly will take away from the experience. According to the introduction, Howard himself recommended not putting them chronologically. It's been pretty easy to follow regardless. I'm about halfway through the first of three books, and I really like how most of the stories can be completed in a brief sitting.

Games you are looking forward to
Oh, you gotta tell me how well the release client will run. All that whining on the AoC boards about performance issues have left me with some mixed feelings. I had issues the first week of open beta, but they implemented a patch a couple days before the end that basically fixed my problems. The game runs well on a high end machine, and I imagine DirectX 10 will help as well. It's buggy though, no doubt about it. There are a few issues with clipping and a good deal of general crashes. It's not going to be the most polished release, but I think in a few months they'll have the technical stuff sorted out.

I've started on Robert Howard's Conan books. I think the first is Conan the Conquerer, which is basically a collection of short stories. They are organized by the date he wrote them, rather than chronologically, but it's easy enough to follow.

I'm starting Age of Conan on Saturday, and I'm pretty excited.

The GTA4 objectively unbias game review from someone who care about gaming
I wouldn't say its the weakest, but it's hard to measure up to Vice City for me.

NHL
Phew, I was worried they would keep him on. It was definitely time for a new system. The Sharks spent a lot of time sitting back in the defensive zone. I understand the strategy is to get in the shooting and passing lanes, but the Sharks have big fast forwards that should be aggressively pursuing the puck carrier. I think a new coach will work to change that, and maybe try to mix up the powerplay a bit. So we've got Paul Maurice and Joel Quenevile (sp?)? Any other big names out there? I've hear good things about the coach of the Chicago Wolves in the AHL as well, at least on the radio. It's obviously tough to take a guy without NHL experience, but maybe that's the best idea. The Sharks need a fresh approach if they are going to get over the playoff hump.

Cheat Do they have cheat codes yet? I always ended up cheating eventually in GTA.

I don't know if the Stars look bad because San Jose took it out of them, or they just weren't all that good to begin with.

That sounds like a "You died of radiation" ending to me. Thanks for the spoiler, by the way.

Bioshock to get big scren treatment
Well, I remember the animated Kilrathi, which looked great in the first two. Once it went FMV, they were terrible, but there weren't any real movement scenes for them in the game. Plus, I expect crappy FMV in a game, but not a movie. They should have hired the Henson studio, the one that did Farscape.

Age of Conan Beta - They issued a patch that fixed all my technical issues, and now I'm able to really enjoy it. It's definitely an MMO, but it's a much more gritty world than I've seen in an MMO before. Great use of the Conan license.

Is Kolzig comfortable being a backup? I can't think of any team where he'd be able to start. He is pretty far along in his years, and his best hockey is unfortunately probably behind him.

Yep, and slapshot and wristshot sounded lame. Of course, hurlshot is a bit lame, but at least its' pretty unique.

If the more skilled team won every hockey game, it would be a pretty boring sport to watch. That's the fantastic thing about hockey, really. Hard work can beat talent on a consistent basis. It's relatively rare in Football and Basketball, but hockey is filled with upsets. I agree that Detroit is a more skilled team, and Holmstrom being in front of the net was huge, but I think it's pretty reasonable to say there were more factors at work in that game than simple skill.

Bioshock to get big scren treatment
I actually chose the name Hurlshot while playing the original Wing Commander. It was a pretty special game to me, the first I ever played that really felt epic in scope and story. The movie was pretty painful, but mostly because the Kilrathi looked absolutely horrid.

I'd agree it's easier, and I'm very thankful. There always seemed to be some mission that hung me up on the previous games. So far it's been smooth sailing.

Bioshock to get big scren treatment
Huh...so I guess it's just a movie in a video game world? Well then, The Last Starfighter also featured a video game. Maybe they just need more movies with games in the plot, rather than based on a specific game.

Bioshock to get big scren treatment
I thought of a couple decent game-to-movie adaptations. Tron - I'm pretty sure it's loosely based on the game. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within - I know it gets trashed by some folks, but I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the Resident Evil flicks. At least they were watch-able. That's it, really. I can think of about two dozen bad ones.

New Fallout 3 screens
WHole thingie here: http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=c...40&Itemid=2 Damn console players always gumming up the works! Can't you people learn to read? What stood out there is "I play Fallout everyday". That's a tad obsessive.

Zero Punctuation - Yahtzee reviews
I think it wasn't necessarily surprise that there are Nintendo fans, but rather the rabid nature. Considering most Nintendo games are pretty cute and cuddly, you wouldn't expect the fans to be so vitriolic.

Actually, Disney movies and classic music typically has to be re-mastered for new technology. Like today people are buying DVD's, tomorrow you will buy Blu-ray's, yesterday we bought VHS. I would love it if they took some classic games and re-mastered them. Sierra did it with a few adventure series by implementing VGA graphics, and it was awesome. I think once technology slows down enough, you'll probably see classic titles getting a good polish job for a new release.
