  1. Fast and the Furious - I don't know what number, but it's the second one with Vin Diesel. It was fun, definitely matched the original in quality. Adventureland - Coming of age comedy with a virgin guy working at an amusementpark who has a Lit degree and needs money for grad school. It wasn't very funny, but it had some charm to it and kept my interest.
  2. Speaking of Lord of the Rings Online, the upcoming expansion into Mirkwood looks super fantastic. I had my doubts about slowly releasing sections of Middle Earth, but Turbine has made it an awesome journey. I hit 60 last weekend with my captain and I'm currently just doing some crafting and finishing some exploration traits up. I actually thought Batman: Arkham Asylum and Butcher Bay were done by the same developer until someone corrected me, they really are very similar in art style and game play.
  3. I always thought it was more because it triggered the whole fantasy genre. I know there were precursors, but it seemed to really take off after Tolkein.
  4. Finished off my second gang in Saints Row 2, now only Sons of Samedi are left. I'm also pulling a major amount of real estate income. I also played a round of Killing Floor. My internet is too weak to play online, but if I manage to get my DSL up and running soon, I can see this being a pretty neat game. I like some of the leveling and weapon choices much better than L4D.
  5. I might re-read these some day. I think I lost interest somewhere around book 8. I'll probably wait until they are all out though.
  6. Steve Jobs pays for himself and quite a bit more, but I never understood how companies with huge losses justify million dollar salaries. THe CEO should make janitor pay until the company gets out of the red.
  7. I don't entirely get the poll. Yeah, I'm a procrastinator, but like Enoch I almost always find a way to be successful in the end. Could I do better if I was less lazy? Probably, but I also would probably be more stressed out. The bigger concern is whether I can turn it on when needed, and sometimes I worry that I can't, but then when I'm up against the clock I usually manage to impress myself.
  8. A couple nights ago I fixed the garage door on my rental unit. A wheel had come off the track, and the bolt that attached it was warped. I found a new one at a hardware store and manage to get it back in place. I felt pretty manly, and the $3.50 for a new bolt and wheel was much better than whatever a repair guy would have charged me.
  9. I'm thinking about picking up the original game, as I never played it. Is that a good idea, or does it not matter for the sequel?
  10. I'm really not a big fan of the Taliban. In fact I've pretty much despised them ever since I read this article: http://www.usatoday.com/news/science/archa...han-buddhas.htm
  11. That story about the gophers almost sounds like a joke, with the comments about guts flying.
  12. Well they did address it, I asked Fawkes and he gave me some line about my destiny. Sure it was dumb, but it was addressed at least.
  13. Very nice, the original was removed so here is a new link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxDMnT0UYLc
  14. I see the appeal though, not everybody is into playing with technology, and macs are geared towards simplicity in almost every aspect. Even their software like iMovie is easy to use, whereas you have more options on the PC but they all have a steeper learning curve.
  15. I really enjoyed Silent Storm's battles. I wouldn't call it an RPG though. I even liked Hammer and Sickle.
  16. I've heard people had problems with the email functionality on the iPhone, but maybe that was just at launch. For me, that is the most important aspect of the Blackberry.
  17. A few years ago I was debt free, but then I bought a house and had a kid and got greedy. But hopefully I'll get back to being debt free again soon. I just have one card, but it's max-ed out. I'd really like to get to the point where I don't have to finance my car. Those monthly payments are definitely a pain.
  18. I prefer the Blackberry to the iPhone, myself.
  19. I'm not a fan of macs or apple products, but I'm happy to see a big company succeeding considering the current economic climate. It is good for everybody, really.
  20. I pay very little attention to stats in single player RPG's. If you really are concerned with min/maxing and all that junk, go play MMO's where the entire game is designed around it.
  21. I'm like a one man army in Saints Row 2.
  22. I'm interested in hearing more, for sure.
  23. Are you two just making stuff up? How does that make the game less successful?
  24. I believe the point is partly that PC games are notoriously buggy and unstable, whereas console games are rarely as such. Although it does seem like console games are getting buggier over the last couple years.
  25. I agree with all those. There is definitely room for development leagues in football, it seems like Canada and Europe have done well enough. I guess time will tell.
