  1. Yes, that is a wonderful use of taxpayers money.
  2. Yeah, I was in a car accident some years ago and the seat belt bruised my chest. I had a class that morning and I went into it about 20 minutes before it ended and the professor said, "you're a little late." The class laughed. I responded, "Yes, I was in a car accident, but I didn't want to miss the first day of class." Anyhow, my dad is getting old and I worry about him driving. He's 82 now and he still drives too fast. We're trying to convince him that maybe he should folks drive him places. His mind is still sharp, but you worry about reflexes, like you said. I hope you mom stays in good health, though. Getting in an accident is pretty traumatic, even for younger folks. We had to take my Grandpa's license and keys away a few years back. It was hard, but he had gotten in a fender bender and just drove away from the accident.
  3. The OC is worth a play through. Not so much a second one.
  4. I couldn't get into it. Maybe it's the whole "educators as complete tards" angle that he really pushes.
  5. Quest For Glory V was developed due to an internet petition, if I remember rightly. http://qfg.info/coalition.html
  6. Speaking of kiddie, my 2 and a half year old daughter absolutely loves the game already. She has taken custody of my Game Informer magazine with Mickey on the cover, and she points out that the houses are scary but Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck are cool. So yeah, it is a kids game, but I think it will be interesting for adults.
  7. I don't believe moving from Mexico to Zimbabwe is actually all that cheap.
  8. It will sell like gangbusters on the Wii, so I don't think they are too worried about that decision.
  9. Craig Anderson looks like the real deal as well, which is a big piece of the Colorado puzzle. I'm still not sure where they will be in 60 games, but they have been fun to watch so far.
  10. Phillies dominated game one. That was a heck of a pitching performance by Lee, are there a lot of complete games in the WS?
  11. Actually I've seen Killian concede arguments quite a few times over the years, or at least he has been willing to admit he is just being stubborn for the sake of stubbornness. That is a big thing to do and I have a lot of respect for him in that regard.
  12. I agree, it does seem to be getting later. I actually think they can start the playoffs a bit earlier though. Maybe cut a week off spring training or something.
  13. I also prefer lower levels in RPG's, especially D&D. Past level 6 I think it starts getting goofy.
  14. CPR has changed a lot over the years. I was trained last year, my wife gets trained every year since she teaches PE. But artificial respiration is still a part of it.
  15. Last night I got nauseous playing Mount and Blade. I really get sick fighting on horseback for too long.
  16. Prediction - The weather is going to suck.
  17. Yep, CPR is only for folks with no pulse. You are basically just trying to keep to heart pumping blood for a bit until medical attention can be given.
  18. Nobody is arguing that the guy deserved to walk for not stepping in to stop the abuse. He is going to serve a minimum of 3 years in prison. That's a hefty sentence. But I agree with the judge that 25 years is excessive for an act of inaction.
  19. It is terrible to watch something like this happen and not intervene, and 3 years is a pretty serious sentence. But it's not anywhere near the same as going through with the action yourself.
  20. Do you really think it's that different from doing it himself? Carrying out justice is not a waste of money, it's the most important function the government has. It is entirely different. It is actually the definition of different. One is an action, the other is inaction.
  21. 3 years for watching someone beat a child to death seems about right. Emotionally I'd love to lock him up and throw away the key, but the judge is right that he doesn't pose a threat and it is a waste spending money locking him up for decades. 18 years for premeditated murder is completely foreign to me. In the US he'd have a good shot at death row in many states, and at least one life sentence would be guaranteed.
  22. Fast and the Furious - I don't know what number, but it's the second one with Vin Diesel. It was fun, definitely matched the original in quality. Adventureland - Coming of age comedy with a virgin guy working at an amusementpark who has a Lit degree and needs money for grad school. It wasn't very funny, but it had some charm to it and kept my interest.
  23. Speaking of Lord of the Rings Online, the upcoming expansion into Mirkwood looks super fantastic. I had my doubts about slowly releasing sections of Middle Earth, but Turbine has made it an awesome journey. I hit 60 last weekend with my captain and I'm currently just doing some crafting and finishing some exploration traits up. I actually thought Batman: Arkham Asylum and Butcher Bay were done by the same developer until someone corrected me, they really are very similar in art style and game play.
  24. I always thought it was more because it triggered the whole fantasy genre. I know there were precursors, but it seemed to really take off after Tolkein.
  25. Finished off my second gang in Saints Row 2, now only Sons of Samedi are left. I'm also pulling a major amount of real estate income. I also played a round of Killing Floor. My internet is too weak to play online, but if I manage to get my DSL up and running soon, I can see this being a pretty neat game. I like some of the leveling and weapon choices much better than L4D.
