Maybe they could change their name to Dolomite as well?

Anyone following the Fort Hood story? This guy actually made an argument that Muslims should be given the option of withdrawing from the military as conscientious objectors. While I agree with that in theory, I think the US needs to recruit more Muslims to help combat the perception that the wars have anything to do with religion. Afghanistan is about targeting extremist groups, and Iraq was about a specific dictator.

I teach middle school, and I make it very clear it is not a democracy But as I said earlier, at the primary levels of education it is supposed to be strictly informative teaching, no biases or opinions, present every side of the argument. At the secondary level, teachers are given a lot more leeway to dispense personal opinions. It makes sense because hopefully as an adult you are no longer as impressionable, but it can lead to difficult scenarios when you disagree with the professor. But honestly, are you for racism? Because it should not be too difficult to come up with some hypothetical situations where you combat racism. It's not like you have to follow through with them, but I don't see hoe it hurts you to think about it and write it down. This is pretty standard stuff for sociology classes (in fact I knew it was going to be a sociology teacher :D ) so it's better to just make her happy and move on with your life.

I think it is supposed to be French. In fact I get a whole Joan of Arc vibe from Leliana.

I've never really had an issue with Ashton Kutcher. It just seems like he's chosen a few bad roles, but I've never felt like he ruined a movie or anything. That 70's show was pretty lame without him, too.

I'm definitely enjoying figuring out which gifts go best with which NPC's. Sten loves paintings, apparently.

That guy standing in my camp with a giant arrow over his head is extremely obnoxious. I get that is might be a personal opinion and other folks can tune him out, but he's a distraction that won't go away in my game.

I've never actually complained about an expansion pack.

That is part of being in college. Kindergarten through 12th grade teachers are supposed to stay away from voicing personal opinions and challenging students over political and social issues, but once you hit college that goes out the window. What class is it anyways? Today I built a playhouse with my father-in-law. It is two stories and has a climbing wall and a slide, as well as a swing set. It took quite a bit of time, but it looks good. We got it for free from a neighbor, just had to take it apart, move it, and then reassemble it

Do you have a link you can PM me for the video? I'm curious what they constituted as "the ending." That's not very funny Will. Here is the actual ending, seems like the "good" one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwEkLts3BwI...&playnext=1

I somehow completely overlooked the bar in Redcliffe until I had finished the questline for it. Ah well.

I actually want to by the DLC. I'm really enjoying the game, and the DLC quest sounds interesting. I'm not bothered by the price, it seems fair enough. It is just the presentation that bothers me, and I'm trying to figure out how best to demonstrate that point as a consumer. I don't know, maybe a strongly worded letter will suffice

What state is this? Gamestop has actually never asked me for ID unless I was trading in games. It sounds fairly suspicious, you might want to call in a complaint to the Gamestop HQ. I did this once and the branch manager actually called me to follow up, so it does work. Do you have any other ID other than a student ID though? I would think something from your country, or even a visa, would be more than adequate to prove age. I'm all for carding underage folks, I'm tired of games being blamed for dumb kids.

The folks that keep saying "It's their game, they can do what they want" are missing the big picture here. DLC and microtransactions are a fairly new concept, and having in-game vendors is extremely new. Developers and publishers are out to make money, but part of that is customer satisfaction. Given that this is still in the experimental phase, we as customers have an opportunity to voice our concerns and possibly help guide the direction and form that DLC takes. Now I'm not arguing against DLC, as I think that would be a wasted effort. It is here to stay and it seems to be having enough success for publishers to ignore some complaints. But the presentation of it in-game is a fight we might be able to affect. So it is important to be vocal, let the publishers know. Then they can weigh that against the bottom line.

It is easy for me to believe that the DLC was developed after the main game was done. As I said, I just think they need to wait a bit after the commercial release to start pushing it, especially if they are going to push it while I'm in the game. Talk about immersion breaker!
-
This is what I'm really getting at. It isn't the DLC that bothers me, it's the release-day stuff. I mean, I JUST paid $60, wait a month or so before you try and hit me up for more money.

Ok, I know we've bandied around the whole DLC issue in the other Dragon Age topics, and I know a third topic might be excessive, but this topic is less about the game and more about the bizarro sales pitch going on here. For those not in the know, when you make camp in Dragon Age, you have a little place to talk to your companions, buy and sell gear, and craft. It works like the ships in KotOR and ME. You will also notice a guy concerned about his family. He offers you a quest. But before you think about accepting, he hits you with a sales pitch. So in order to do this quest, you have to pay for it separately. Now I'm not typically bothered by DLC. In fact I rarely bother with it, and I think it is a creative way to continue the development cycle of a game. But what bothers me is the fact that Dragon Age has been out for less than a week, and they are already trying to peddle content. That means this was done when the game was done, and they withheld it to milk some more bucks out of the player, and then they put it front and center in the game. It isn't in some tucked away corner, it is staring you right in the face, saying "if you don't buy me, you aren't getting the full experience." So I'm a bit perturbed, to say the least. I'm not someone who gets too wound up over video games, but this did push a button for me.

I control the camera by holding the right mouse button down and moving it.

Playing as a dwarf commoner now and I really enjoyed the origin story. Unlike the human noble one, Very good times, I'm focusing on two weapon combat.
-
Especially if his wife is good in the sack.
-
Why's that? I'd venture to say he doesn't like the origin story. A little bit of that, and a little bit of just wanting to do a few things differently. I usually start over on RPG's two or three times before I get really into a character.
-
Apparently rats are just big bags of blood that explode when they get hit. I'm playing as a human noble, and I'm a little upset that
-
Dragon Age - playing a human noble. So far so good, although I'm thinking about starting a new character.

Geez, it's a video game. You are paying $30-$60 for it, it's not like buying a house. Some times you get good ones, some times you get bad ones. That's life, live with it. Some times I go to a restaurant and get a bad meal, I don't stiff the waiter afterwards, I just don't go to that restaurant again.
