  1. Jack White doesn't even need a guitar to melt your face off.
  2. Jack White would have harnessed the poop to make a new guitar, and then he would have rocked it.
  3. I have to disagree a bit. Starcraft 1 didn't really appeal to me at all. I think it was more popular because of the MP than the single player. But so far, SC2 has been phenomenal as a single player game. It is just a very entertaining game in a lot of aspects.
  4. I gave into peer pressure and picked it up. It is worth it so far. I liked the tribute to The Lost Vikings especially.
  5. As I said earlier, it is a very large country. The trick is to find an area where Indian people actually live. The Bay Area has an incredibly diverse population, so you can get pretty much any type of decent ethnic food if you know where to look. Except for pizza, for some odd reason.
  6. So I live in the Bay Area, and apparently that isn't part of the US, because other than the school budget problems I have none of the issues you people are talking about. There are plenty of great schools in our area with great teachers. There are also a variety of different types of schools, magnets that focus on science, math, the arts, etc. There is also some pretty good Indian food. I'd like to live in the UK, but it's because they have castles and cool historical places to visit.
  7. Why? It's hard and expensive to find a decent school and even then, no one seems to be interested in developing creativity and independent thinking in children. We also really don't like American television and the practice of creating environments that encourage segregation amongst cultures. Those seem like pretty general blanket condemnations for a very large country. Other than the American television bit, I doubt you will really find the answer to your problems in the UK.
  8. It Might Get Loud - A fantastic collaboration project between Jimmy Page, The Edge, and Jack White. They just got together and jammed, it was awesome. The highlights are Jack White making his own electric guitar with a chunk of wood, a bottle, and a metal wire.
  9. In the last year or two, I've noticed a big drop in Blu-ray prices. In the US they are usually only $5 more than regular DVD. There are also a lot of them that sell combo packs, which are ideal for me. Basically I've got the Blu-Ray to play at home, and the DVD which I can throw in the kids room/car/RV. It's perfect for all the Disney movies that get a lot of play time. So kinda hoping it doesn't get dropped too soon. It's a bit disturbing that Sony, who really has a lot to do with Blu-Ray being somewhat successful, is already moving on.
  10. Yeah, I'm basically over the entire RTS genre. I've tried to get into a few titles here and there, but it doesn't appeal to me. So the only reason I like Starcraft 2 is the cut scenes, and I can see those on youtube.
  11. It should save every time you land on a new planet or station. Unless you disabled that option.
  12. Exactly. Right now it sounds like that person is feeling some guilt or concern over the lack of a reaction. The best way to handle that is to keep a memory of a good time that person spent with their grandmother alive and active. Maybe share it with a friend.
  13. I love 7, I prefer it to Vista. I believe they are very similar in terms of running software though, so if you can get it to work on Vista, it should be fine on Windows 7. But you might want to do research, I'm still using Vista until my next upgrade. I've only used 7 on a work computer.
  14. I believe they are referring to the multiple origin stories from the original. The narrative was different for a dwarf compared to a human, at least in some parts of the game. The splitting of those resources is no longer necessary.
  15. I don't know enough about laptop video cards, but I prefer ATI over Nvidia, so I might spend the extra 60 pieces o' eight on the ATI 5850. 4 gigs of Ram is also a solid choice for future proofing it, and that is just an extra 40. edit: I'm looking at the 17 inch version of this for myself in a year or so. I have to pay off my wife's upgraded wedding ring to keep her happy first, and then I can pick one up.
  16. But we got some great episodes of MASH out of it.
  17. As a fan of Alienware computers, I have to agree with Gorgon if you just want a simple internet and word processing rig. You can pick up a decent one for a few hundred bucks. But if you are looking at a gaming laptop, the M15x is top-notch. It is also worth the price. It might be a little more than the average gaming laptop, but all the reviews are good, and Alienware laptops are known for lasting longer than normal. The only drawback is that they are a bit bigger, but that is by design because the more compact, the more heat problems.
  18. I owned the PSP for awhile, and I didn't find many of the games very engaging. The philosophy seemed to be "take PS2 games and put them on a handheld." While this might be good for some, I prefer less intensive games for a handheld. I want games that I can pick up for ten minutes and set back down easily. The DS was perfect for that, and I own one now. Lots of puzzle and casual games, and a few really good strategy and RPG titles. So I recommend the DS wholeheartedly. I also thought I'd watch movies on the PSP, but now my phone is practically as good at filling that role.
  19. I'm pretty sure studio heads should buy into a culture of thrift. Otherwise the studio will likely fail.
  20. I haven't said anything about your math skills. I was responding to Calax, who claimed you were being unclear and not explaining things fully. My theory is that something is being lost in translation, hence the 400 post thread that has gone nowhere.
  21. That's funny, you yourself admitted you don't know much about math, yet feel entitled to critisize both my understanding of math and of English. See, that isn't actually a criticism. It is a simple statement, one which you decided not to refute. My math skills may be weak, but I am a confident English teacher, and your writing has flaws. It could be a number of reasons, but being an English language learner is nothing to be ashamed of. I also recall something about you being from another country and becoming a US citizen after birth, but I could easily be mistaking you for another poster.
  22. I'm guessing there is a privacy option that Jordan Shaw did not select.
  23. If I recall correctly, English is WoD's second language, so that could be the reason for the misunderstandings.
  24. EVE is like a business trading MMO in space. Lots of spreadsheets and profit/loss statements.
  25. While Activision is guilty of making plenty of bad business decisions, I think Mammary War is being a bit paranoid here.
