do not want... Sorry Krook, but I saw that one coming a mile away. It was a pretty ballsy move, for sure. I imagine they will try and work some sort of contract length limits in the next collective bargaining agreement.
  2. I can see why the Octopus was tentative. Once you ink a deal with the Russian Syndicate, if you mess up, you can bet you will end up swimming with the fishes.
  3. Is this better? I'll play around with it, excellent suggestion. I agree the colors aren't very good. I'll try a couple different color schemes as well.
  4. That is pretty great

That is an insane contract. I guess they are trying to get around the salary cap? I'm guessing he won't be playing from age 39-44 for half a million a season, but if I'm wrong, you folks can call me on it in 12 years.
  6. Can't you just arrange for a tour or something and get a test drive?
  7. I'm starting to develop an art style, I think. I plan on improving, of course, but I think it is a good start. At least my daughter was able to recognize it as a playground. Here is the most recent comic:
  8. Oh, sorry, which one is that? If it's something silly where you misunderstand probability for the 1000th time in this thread, don't even bother waiting for a reply, though. So you don't even read what I post, you're just here to insult me, is that it? My simple question (posted right after your post) is whether you know that the probabiltiy of an event which has already happended is 1? I'm not math whiz, but that question seems completely illogical.
  9. Playing Puzzle Quest 2 on the DS a bit. It is a solid sequel to a great game.
  10. I bought a new (well, new to me) car today. It is a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I traded in my 09 Honda Accord for it, and they kinda canceled out in terms of price. We just needed a bigger vehicle for the family.
  11. That's odd, since the game has been out for years. I take it you are playing the new free 2 play stuff?
  12. Not in Sweden, it doesnt. Sending unsolicited flowers or a gift of any kind to a girl you're not intimately familiar with, is not socially acceptable. Unless you're Alexander Skarsg
  13. taks and Aristes were on that general area, but I haven't heard from them in awhile. It's a shame, since they were my online drinking buddies.
  14. I did 24 once. It was pretty exhausting.
  15. The decision is also one you can expect more publishers to make. We all know that publishers are concerned with piracy (or second-hand sales, whatever) and have spent money on different DRM schemes. Steamworks is offered for free to publishers and basically handles all authentication and creates a decent barrier against piracy. I'm still confused about the actual complaints against Steam, is it just the fact you have to authenticate it online? Is it just a general complaint about having another piece of software on your PC?
  16. It's only a 27 hour drive, get some Red Bull and man up, sleep is for wussies.
  17. You only need to be online once for this whole shebang. Otherwise, this is what the CEO said:
  18. I still don't get why you would deprive yourself of a game because it runs through Steam, particularly those who claim they are going to buy the console version instead. It is nonsensical because the consoles have been running their own versions of Steam for the last generation. You are signed in as soon as you turn the console on, you launch the game from their OS, and it keeps track of stuff whether you are online or not. Currently I'm running Steam in offline mode. I've launched a few games with no issues. I've tried to disconnect my internet mid-game, I've even started it in offline mode. It has run smoothly the whole time. I'll admit, Steam had its problems with the offline mode originally, but they seem to be a thing of the past. So I don't get it. It seems like Steam DRM is less obstrusive than Starforce and all that last-gen stuff. It is easy to exit out of Steam, and it makes patching games easy (but not required.) In terms of ownership, it is again just like a console. What happens if Sony or Microsoft decide to shut down all of their servers? You are going to have trouble playing your game, just like if Steam shuts down. But the likelihood of that happening is super tiny, and if that did happen, there would probably be a quick fix in a matter of hours. It just seems like a lot of bluster.
  19. I tried to get into UFO: Extraterrestrials. It's basically a tribute game to Xcom, but it lacks the charm.
  20. I could guess a lot more with a multiple choice test, but trying to remember name spellings is not easy for a fantasy game.
  21. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of forum members in that area between Sactown and Iowa. You'd have to go out of your way considerably. On a side note, Wal-mart has a policy that allows you to spend the night in their parking lots legally.
  22. A friend right after the end of the world cup sent me a link to an online news source that had two articles up, each indicating a different team had won the world cup. So I think the answer is "Yes, nobody edits these online newspapers." It is standard in the news industry to do that for major sporting events, basically they create all the headlines ahead of time, then choose the right one (hopefully) at the last minute and plug in the story.
  23. I don't understand why a book series that revolves around unique characters that get killed off frequently and political conspiracy would be a good fit for an RTS.
  24. I don't complain about Bioware's stories because they are one of very few developers that is at least trying to tell a good story.
  25. It's a video game, not life and death.
