Advice - Alienware M15x
As a fan of Alienware computers, I have to agree with Gorgon if you just want a simple internet and word processing rig. You can pick up a decent one for a few hundred bucks. But if you are looking at a gaming laptop, the M15x is top-notch. It is also worth the price. It might be a little more than the average gaming laptop, but all the reviews are good, and Alienware laptops are known for lasting longer than normal. The only drawback is that they are a bit bigger, but that is by design because the more compact, the more heat problems.

What are you playing now
I owned the PSP for awhile, and I didn't find many of the games very engaging. The philosophy seemed to be "take PS2 games and put them on a handheld." While this might be good for some, I prefer less intensive games for a handheld. I want games that I can pick up for ten minutes and set back down easily. The DS was perfect for that, and I own one now. Lots of puzzle and casual games, and a few really good strategy and RPG titles. So I recommend the DS wholeheartedly. I also thought I'd watch movies on the PSP, but now my phone is practically as good at filling that role.

Interesting article on the game industry
I'm pretty sure studio heads should buy into a culture of thrift. Otherwise the studio will likely fail.

Woman wins millions in lottery 4 times!
I haven't said anything about your math skills. I was responding to Calax, who claimed you were being unclear and not explaining things fully. My theory is that something is being lost in translation, hence the 400 post thread that has gone nowhere.

Woman wins millions in lottery 4 times!
That's funny, you yourself admitted you don't know much about math, yet feel entitled to critisize both my understanding of math and of English. See, that isn't actually a criticism. It is a simple statement, one which you decided not to refute. My math skills may be weak, but I am a confident English teacher, and your writing has flaws. It could be a number of reasons, but being an English language learner is nothing to be ashamed of. I also recall something about you being from another country and becoming a US citizen after birth, but I could easily be mistaking you for another poster.

For WoW players amongst us, concerned about their privacy
I'm guessing there is a privacy option that Jordan Shaw did not select.

Woman wins millions in lottery 4 times!
If I recall correctly, English is WoD's second language, so that could be the reason for the misunderstandings.

What are you playing now
EVE is like a business trading MMO in space. Lots of spreadsheets and profit/loss statements.

What are you playing now
While Activision is guilty of making plenty of bad business decisions, I think Mammary War is being a bit paranoid here.

Movies you have seen recently
Twilight - Well, my expectations were pretty low, being that I'm not a teenage girl. But surprisingly the back story and the actual concept was somewhat intriguing. The real problem was the two main actors were absolutely horrible, I mean super super bad. The other characters were actually decently acted, in fact I wished they spent way less time on the bad romance and more on the geeky High School kids and the school click of vamps. So it did a good job of pulling me and my wife in, but was painful in quite a few spots. It's hard to gauge, I guess.

NHL
do not want... Sorry Krook, but I saw that one coming a mile away. It was a pretty ballsy move, for sure. I imagine they will try and work some sort of contract length limits in the next collective bargaining agreement.

I can see why the Octopus was tentative. Once you ink a deal with the Russian Syndicate, if you mess up, you can bet you will end up swimming with the fishes.

Webcomic hosting
Is this better? I'll play around with it, excellent suggestion. I agree the colors aren't very good. I'll try a couple different color schemes as well.

The funny things thread
That is pretty great

NHL
That is an insane contract. I guess they are trying to get around the salary cap? I'm guessing he won't be playing from age 39-44 for half a million a season, but if I'm wrong, you folks can call me on it in 12 years.

What you did today
Can't you just arrange for a tour or something and get a test drive?

I'm starting to develop an art style, I think. I plan on improving, of course, but I think it is a good start. At least my daughter was able to recognize it as a playground. Here is the most recent comic:

Woman wins millions in lottery 4 times!
Oh, sorry, which one is that? If it's something silly where you misunderstand probability for the 1000th time in this thread, don't even bother waiting for a reply, though. So you don't even read what I post, you're just here to insult me, is that it? My simple question (posted right after your post) is whether you know that the probabiltiy of an event which has already happended is 1? I'm not math whiz, but that question seems completely illogical.

What are you playing now
Playing Puzzle Quest 2 on the DS a bit. It is a solid sequel to a great game.

What you did today
I bought a new (well, new to me) car today. It is a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I traded in my 09 Honda Accord for it, and they kinda canceled out in terms of price. We just needed a bigger vehicle for the family.

What are you playing now
That's odd, since the game has been out for years. I take it you are playing the new free 2 play stuff?

Ask Monte
Not in Sweden, it doesnt. Sending unsolicited flowers or a gift of any kind to a girl you're not intimately familiar with, is not socially acceptable. Unless you're Alexander Skarsg

taks and Aristes were on that general area, but I haven't heard from them in awhile. It's a shame, since they were my online drinking buddies.

I did 24 once. It was pretty exhausting.

AAAHHHHHHH
The decision is also one you can expect more publishers to make. We all know that publishers are concerned with piracy (or second-hand sales, whatever) and have spent money on different DRM schemes. Steamworks is offered for free to publishers and basically handles all authentication and creates a decent barrier against piracy. I'm still confused about the actual complaints against Steam, is it just the fact you have to authenticate it online? Is it just a general complaint about having another piece of software on your PC?
