  1. I'm 99% sure he was kidding around. We all know that the world will end in December of 2012 anyway.
  2. PS:T would probably show up as some FPS game in today's market. But I don't see WotC endorsing anything for it, to be honest.
  3. Health care is extremely broken in this country. I have no idea if the Universal Health Care program will be effective, but it would be nice to see both parties working on it instead of using it as a political platform. I like this deficit reduction plan, by the way. If both sides are unhappy, somebody is doing something right. Obviously there is a lot going on there. I think people are making a bigger deal about the Social Security issue than is necessary, in reality if you are relying fully on Social Security as a retirement plan, you are already in trouble to begin with. 69 is when the full benefits kick in, which means if you want to retire at 60, you need a decent retirement plan to cover the gap.
  4. I was just kidding Gorth. I've actually never heard of it, sounds like it was interesting though.
  5. Yep, it was just a black screen in every direction. Very art nouveau. People put hundreds of hours into it, mostly because they couldn't see the exit button.
  6. Ae you breaking up with me?
  7. What's odd is his review of Alpha Protocol was fairly positive. At least, as positive as Yahtzee gets. He didn't seem to really get it though, but as others have stated, it was out of his comfort zone.
  8. Didn't a bunch of studies recently come in putting the Universal Health care costs much lower than expected? I want to say it was like 70 billion (which is huge, but way lower than what was originally bandied about.)
  9. you just had a titanium rod removed from your leg and you're already walking?! +500 man points! Those will come in handy while I knit this scarf on my couch. Kidding, I'm playing the guitar. I've got 5 chords down and have moved from being totally ignorant to moderately ignorant. Progress! Thanks for all the well wishing
  10. Let us know how it is! I'm pretty excited for it, but it's a bit of a wait until January. Still, I'm guessing this means a decent amount of bugs will be ironed out.
  11. We all realize that Saddam had plenty of opportunity to avoid a US invasion, right? The guy did everything he could to egg it on. Still not saying it was the right choice to go in, but if we are pointing fingers, the big middle one should be pointed at him.
  12. The surgery was successful, so I'm just lounging on the couch. I can actually walk a bit already, which is encouraging. I'm still pretty nauseous from the anesthesia though.
  13. It's also pretty much the original blockbuster computer game.
  14. Hurlshort replied to Walsingham's topic in Way Off-Topic
Chuck does have some pretty great music.
  15. It's ok guys, these are all adequate descriptions of me
  16. I'm at the doctors for a pre-op, I have surgery on my leg tomorrow. I broke it last year, and now they need to take out the titanium rod. I hope I get to keep it.
  17. I'm very happy with the route Obsidian has taken. It is a smart business plan, they always have a few active projects and they are getting funding from the IP holder. Troika had a similar talent make up, but they made bad business choices and look what happened. I imagine with NV being so successful, we will see them take a crack at another new IP.
  18. I did mention the nitpicky veterans It's not like there is a progressive story between the Civ games. Starting with Civ5 is a solid way to go, it is a great game and from here on out, expansions, patches, and the multiplayer community will all be focused on it.
  19. Red - Very entertaining. John Malkovich really stole the show.
  20. I'm sure I will, I'm pretty anal about the whole learning process. I've already got a group lesson scheduled, so I'm guessing that will help too. Plus I plan on hitting up my co-worker the music teacher once I get over the first steps for some help. It's going great so far. I am able to play the first practice track somewhat successfully on the instructional DVD, I've got calluses forming, and I've got 5 chords down. Yay for progress.
  21. Seriously? I dunno it just feels different, even at it's darkest Ferelden is about as dark as a Ren Fair in Wisconsin. I nominate this as the awesome comment of the day.
  22. ha, took it right out of my mouth seriously though, X-Com (or UFO, w/e) has got to be the best TB-game and one of the best games of all time, JA2 is small time compared to this mammoth) Not to take anything away from Xcom, but I'd put JA2 above it in regards to the actual TB combat. Of course, it came out much later and was refined after JA1 and Deadly Games, but it is still the king of TB squad tactical combat. Xcom trumps JA2 by having an awesome strategic layer though, with research, base building, and all those other brilliant layers. Speaking of JA2, unlike Gorth I have a small flicker of hope deep inside that Bitcomposer will turn out a decent remake of JA2. edit: Dang, just read that plan and go thread. My flicker just dimmed considerably.
  23. Did you watch it on Blu-Ray? I thought it was better on my Blu-Ray player than it was on the big screen. edit: Just noticed the HBO comment. Yeah, I'd imagine it would lose a lot of awe factor that way, even if it was an HD feed.
  24. What a friendly fellow. I consider quite a few posters here personal friends, just as I would with the people I see at work or on a sports team. I spend real time here having discussions with real people, so I find it very illogical that I wouldn't form an attachment. Why waste your time here then?
  25. Wow. People are going to start calling you a softy Boo. I'm glad you liked it
