  1. If your biggest complaint about the game is people haven't picked up enough trash, you should try the most recent version of Waste Management Simulator. Just watch the Recycling exploit, you get way too much money from it.
  2. Cool stuff Hurlshot. Just remember, your fingers are going to hurt a lot. That's not a sign you should stop playing though, the more you abuse them the tougher they'll get and then you'll find they suddenly no longer hurt. That's what I've heard, although I heard electrical is not as hard on the fingers as acoustic. I also heard classical guitars (because of nylon strings or something?) are easier too, but my goal is electric so I figure no need to start on something different.
  3. This may sound really weird, but I'd put the Dragon Age universe in my top twenty list, but the game itself probably doesn't crack the top 50 for me. The reason is I really enjoyed the lore of the game and even read the two books. The second was a bit weak, but the first was really enjoyable. The big issue I have with DA:O is the Wardens. I don't really dig that entire aspect of the DA universe, and unfortunately it is the focal point of the first game. I'm excited about DA2 because I think it will be better simply because the Wardens aren't a focal point.
  4. I have decided to learn how to play the guitar. I am trying to find a nice deal on a consignment electric guitar and an amp, nothing too fancy, there are a lot of ones out there for about $100. Then I'm going to take a group class in a couple weeks. I'm pretty excited about it.
  5. I would say it is less a Republican movement and more of an anti-incumbent movement. I can see a lot of seats changing again in the next election if the country doesn't dramatically improve. It'd be nice to see politicians start working together regardless of political affiliation as well. Things are very vitriolic in DC right now, and I don't see how the government can achieve anything without good will and compromise.
  6. She blames the teachers for the problems in education, and thinks merit pay and charter schools are the answer. Merit pay doesn't improve student performance. It is a stupid idea that people who don't really understand what goes on in a classroom come up with. Charter schools only work in a limited capacity. They are successful because the kids that get in to charter schools have parents who want them to be there. When you get a bunch of kids in a school with parents who don't care, you get a bad school, charter or no, merit pay or no, good teacher or bad.
  7. Why? Because if it is implemented today it will put a bunch of small businesses out of work. We run a small trucking company in our family, and in order to bring our fleet of 4 trucks into line with the regulations, it would cost about $100,000. Given that we are already barely treading water in the slowed economy, we would have to close up shop immediately. The prop suspends it until the unemployment rate drops to 5.5%. Seems like a smart call to hold off on anything that will cause more jobs to be lost at this point.
  8. I voted all over the map today. I went with the democrats Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom for Governor and Lt. I was originally going with Meg Whitman, but in the last few weeks her comments have been very distasteful. It was tough to go with a guy who didn't accomplish much in his first term, but Whitman sounds like she will do more harm than good with her ideas on education. For the rest of the positions I went with a mix of Republicans and Green Party candidates. Basically I looked for the small business owners in the bunch and chose them. Gavin Newsom was the easiest choice of the bunch, he's dreamy. I voted yes on almost every prop. Seemed like some good ones this year. I even voted yes on the one that suspends the stricter environmental regulations, so don't read too much into my Green party choices.
  9. Sweet! I've been watching all season long, and it is amazing how it all came together! First title in SF history!
  10. I'm wearing Benny's suit, and I can't imagine taking it off. It's more important to look good than to have good DT, baby.
  11. I vote Wals as well. I'm intimidated by his shiny medals.
  12. Again, Saddam Hussein could have cleared all this up pretty easily. Whether it was bad intelligence or lies, Hussein did very little to try and correct it.
  13. I thought the art direction was exactly the same. I did feel like we went through some grimier locations in the sequel, but other than that I'm really scratching my head over Oblarg's beef. I also don't get the plot comment. I think a lot of people would agree that ME2 was light on actual plot progression and was more about developing a cast of characters and setting up the third game, but I'm not sure where the absurdity was.
  14. I wouldn't mind it so much if they posted in the appropriate thread, but making new threads about every lame thing is really annoying.
  15. Did you get anyone to go to the confessional box with you?
  16. I'm not sure why you would be against the recent DLC for ME2. It's fairly awesome and fairly inexpensive. It adds a lot of flavor to the lore of the universe.
  17. Hopefully Obsidian got their money up front, and cashed the check fast.
  18. Jesus, where the heck have you been? I agree with you 100% by the way. It is simply an amazing game.
  19. I'm very excited about the fact I called the whole bot thing early here. I feel like my Internet Forum Kung Fu has peaked.
  20. Ok, I'm pretty far into the game, and I'm quite blown away by it. It really comes down to the choice and consequence. Obsidian is simply a master at giving me multiple choices that all seem somewhat decent. This is a far cry from the Bioware model, which is basically be good/be a jerk. I enjoy Bioware's games because I get to be a save the world hero, but Obsidian is going much deeper with choice and consequence. They did the same thing with Alpha Protocol. If you haven't listened to the Zero Punctuation Review of AP, he basically says Obsidian is showing off with the sheer amount of consequences to every one of your actions. They continue this on an even larger scale with FO:NV. So basically I'm saying it is one of the greatest games I have ever played. Now I am not the type who cares about gameplay or glitches or inventory management or whatever. I care about story, character development, choice, and consequences. FO:NV possesses those in spades. If you are on the fence because of concerns over bugs, get off it. Bugs are short term, they will get fixed, and the game is worth working around them a bit. Knock on wood, I've actually had zero issues with the game. It is brilliant.
  21. This is interesting stuff, but do you have any links to cheap meds or nike shoes?

Awesome. I think my first modem was 1200 baud.

I used to dial in to Prodigy Online for my cheat codes when I was a kid.
  24. I called this back in another thread earlier: http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showtopic=56401
  25. It's like someone broke into my private mental journal, and read all my thoughts on Call of Duty, and then refuted them. Amazing!
