ELI WINS THE SUPERBOWL! ELI WINS THE SUPERBOWL! ELI WINS THE SUPERBOWL!
I wasn't sure if she lip synched the whole thing, at first I thought it was clearly synched since she was dancing quite a bit, but later in the performance the sound was changing a bit when the mic moved away from her mouth. It doesn't bother me much when dancers lip synch. I wanted to see more dancing from Madonna actually, but she is like 50 now, so I still thought she did pretty well. At least it didn't put me to sleep like the last few years.

ELI WINS THE SUPERBOWL! ELI WINS THE SUPERBOWL! ELI WINS THE SUPERBOWL!
Kind of an odd halftime show too. I thought Madonna was decent, I liked her bit with Celo (C-Lo?) the best. It was better than the Black Eyed Peas and The Who. Nothing like Prince wailing away on a purple guitar in the sleet and wind, but that is probably never going to be bested anyways.

Republican Candidates
If the Republicans had a somewhat decent candidate I'd give them great odds of winning. But Romney is going to have a tough go of it. Maybe I'll vote for Roseanne Barr this year

ELI WINS THE SUPERBOWL! ELI WINS THE SUPERBOWL! ELI WINS THE SUPERBOWL!
Pitchers report in 13 days. It was a good game, I was happy the Giants won. I'm not really a fan of either team, but the Patriots have that sort of evil empire thing going on like the Yankees, and it's better to root for the underdog. Eli is definitely an elite quarterback. The first Superbowl win for him was a bit more about team defense, but he carried this team this season all the way to the championship.

SW: The Old Republic Part 3
You typically don't start to see decent different leveling paths until about a year after release in MMO's.

Mass Effect 3
Nah. Maybe they just work harder because you helped them out with their drama issues, that could work. You clearly don't watch enough movies about crooked cops.

Mass Effect 3
At first I thought it was pretty bizarre to get a ship and missions from Cerberus, but then I spent the entire game undermining The Illusive Man's authority and not trusting them in anything I did. I had multiple conversations with folks about how I didn't trust TIM and was just using their ship because it was my only option. You might be overthinking things, Oblarg.

Mass Effect 3
Exactly, and I eat this stuff up. For some reason this reminds me of a conversation about plot holes in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Just relax and enjoy Sarah Michelle-Geller beat up on the undead.

Mass Effect 3
With the unresolved trial waiting for her back at home, she decides that it's better to go out in the line of duty to ensure decent life insurance benefits for her family?

The funny things thread
A foot is actually the size of my foot, so I have no idea what Gorgon is talking about. Actually my foot is an inch short, but when wearing a shoe that pretty much makes it about right. This means it is easy for me to work out the square footage of place simply by walking it. I'd have a bit more trouble working out the meters.

Mass Effect 3
... Considering the amount of effort you had to put into getting Shepard killed, I'd think you'd be overjoyed with the result. Doesn't seem a lot of effort involved, considering you could only get Shepard killing by avoiding all loyalty missions and avoiding all upgrades (hence avoiding wasting time with planet scanning). That reminds me of the students who avoid all homework and studying and then are surprised when they fail.

Mass Effect 3
I finished The Arrival DLC. Left a pretty bad taste in my mouth.

The NHL Thread
I read a good article on Shanahan and his job the other day. I like that they are really emphasizing education and transparency. It's a tough job to cut down on injuries without getting rid of the physical nature of the sport.

What are you playing now?
I also haven't heard of it. It can't be that hyped.

SW: The Old Republic Part 3
Hmm, I have a hard time believing they would discard the current stories in any way. My guess would be that they war will either take place in entirely new areas on existing planets (as well as new planets) or they will make heavy use of instancing to give the illusion of a changing world. For example, in Lord of the Rings Online, you are traveling on a similar path as the fellowship of the ring. When the game launched, the Fellowship was in Rivendell, out in the open for all to see. But eventually they had to move on as new areas were added, so Turbine hid them away in instanced buildings in Rivendell for players that were behind in the story, and moved them forward for those at the front. So for TOR I would guess that a world could look very different depending on what level or what part of the story you visit it in. They could have a Coruscant for levels 10-50, and then a separate Coruscant for post-50. Just my theory, they could do something entirely different. I just can't imagine them altering the class quests in a dramatic way though.

SW: The Old Republic Part 3
This I can agree with wholeheartedly. I would probably say that is going to be my biggest hurdle with TOR in the long run. I hope they continue to add areas for all level ranges, not just end game content. It is one of the reasons I still go back to games like Everquest 2 and Lord of the Rings Online, they continue to make it interesting to start and level new characters.

Mass Effect 3
The choices in ME2 did have an effect on the ending in that game though, your crewmates lived and died based on your decisions. I'm guessing some of the personal stories will matter. I romanced Ashley in the first game, and then I avoided hooking up with anyone in ME2. Because of that her picture stayed on my desk and all that. I'm expecting that to be addressed in ME3 n some way, I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

Mass Effect 3
It is completely unreasonable to expect the game to fail you because you made a bad decision 30 hours earlier in the game. I lived through the Sierra adventure era where you were screwed if you missed picking up a fish in a barrel, and I don't miss it. However Bioware did a great job acknowledging my choices from ME1 in ME2. Whether it was the way a conversation went with a former companion, or a simple email, I felt rewarded for my choices.

Movies you've seen recently
It's more about a small market team finding a way to compete against big markets with gigantic payrolls, but really it's the story of Billy Beane and his unique path to stardom. I think it's a bigger deal for me because I live in the Bay Area and watched it all unfold, even as a non-A's fan.

I loved Moneyball as well. It's definitely a baseball lover's movie.

What you did today
Submitted my taxes, pretty nice return that will all go towards paying off credit card debt. I can't wait until I'm done paying for day care.

Mass Effect 3
I picked up the Arrival DLC, I figure it will be a nice little prologue for ME3.

SW: The Old Republic Part 3
I did enjoy arresting the fake king of Alderaan in his flooded throne room. But yeah, the different houses were fairly uneventful.

Interesting stuff on JA: Back in Action. I'm glad to see it is on Steam, I might pick it up down the road just for the nostalgia factor.

SW: The Old Republic Part 3
Is the game available in Asia yet? I know Korea/China account for a good portion of that huge WoW number.
