  1. Hmm, using the gamepad I control the camera with my right thumb while moving with my left thumb. With the mouse and keyboard I would probably hold down the right mouse button to control the camera while moving. I do this for a lot of 3rd person games because I have issues with nausea as well. I'm enjoying the game so far, but I got these purple chakrams that made the early fights a bit too easy. I ended up switching back to my daggers to keep combat a bit more interesting. Still learning the timestop thing, like when it is best to use it.
  2. The funny thing is she was crying more about the fact I wouldn't get her something from the snack shack than anything else Both you and Raithe bring up good points. After talking it over with my wife, we plan on keeping her in the classes and seeing if it will work to give her the option of opting out of any performances. She isn't even 5 years old yet (even though she occasionally acts like a little grown up) so we will wait a few years before we really start pushing the performance issue with her. As Gfted mentioned, it's important to be able to follow things through from A to Z. With dance and cheer, it is also a matter of other kids relying on her to show up. When she bails on a dance number, it can affect the whole performance. She has a alot of trouble seeing that at this age, but it's something I plan on continuing to work on.
  3. Good luck in Antarctica! Actually I bet the wifi is good in Antarctica, not too many people eating up bandwidth. Take care wherever you are going!
  4. I'm not sure a google search will really convey the full magnitude of Jersey Shore on US culture.
  5. That's a very good point, and one I've talked with my wife about. I just want her to be aware of this a bit more, so that I don't drive the whole family out to see her and then she decides not to perform. It's also a question of money, should we shell out for dance classes when she doesn't ever perform? I'm not sure. I'll have to think on it a bit, but thanks for the feedback. You guys are my sound board
  6. Yeah, Santorum is my worst fear. I have no idea how he recaptured momentum. He is the only candidate, now that Bachmann and Perry are out, that I would actively campaign against. Scary stuff.
  7. ME2 is actually the only game I've ever bought DLC for. I think it's because there is a natural feel to continuing after the endgame, and I really did want to hear Liara's story. Plus making Arrival basically a prologue for ME3 was pretty brilliant.
  8. Last night I had a tough parenting situation. I took my daughter to a basketball game, where she was going to do a routine with some other girls at halftime. She is almost 5. Saturday she went to a camp to learn the routine, her grandmother actually bought her an outfit for it. Right before the performance, she runs up to me and says she is too shy to perform. I try to convince her to give it a try, and her friends are all going out on the floor. Then she started saying she was hungry. Now it was very frustrating to hear that, since I had spent and hour before the game trying to get her to eat more food and she wouldn't. So I told her I would get her something at the snack shack after the performance. She started to have a meltdown. At this point the performance was almost over, so I told her we were leaving. She continued to meltdown, so I picked her up and carried her out (all while holding my 2-year old son.) On the way home I told her I was disappointed, that we came out to watch her. Eventually she apologized, but I told her she was still going to bed when we got home. I gave her something to eat and then helped her to bed. It's a weird situation though. I'm not sure how to handle it exactly. This isn't the first time she has done this before a performance, she does the same thing for her dance classes when it is recital time. I don't want to be the parent that just lets my kid off the hook for this stuff, constantly giving positive affirmations even when they are undeserved. But I don't necessarily want to be the Tiger Mom who uses derision and contempt unless my child gets full marks on everything. So a bit of a rough night, hopefully I can find a decent middle ground here as a parent.
  9. I picked it up last night, got lucky and grabbed the only PC copy at my local Gamestop. I decided to use the gamepad to play and I think that is a better option. The combat was a bit awkward for me with a mouse and keyboard, my Xbox controller works a lot more naturally. It's been fun so far, just finished off the tutorial area and a nearby mine.
  10. I think it's important to have folks in DC pushing small government like Ron Paul, I just don't know if I think he should be the President.
  11. That's a pretty slippery slope you've got there.
  12. I'm leaning towards picking this up on my PS3 instead of the PC. Anyone know if there are any console issues?
  13. At this point, I don't know why anyone would buy a Ubisoft title on the PC.
  14. Yeah, I didn't understand why my mage would pull a shield out of his robes to block, seemed very goofy. I will probably pick this up eventually. I've got a lot of other games going, but it looks like it is worth the money.
  15. You must mean Scorpia http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/ArinnDembo/20100812/5745/Gamazon_Seven_Questions_for_Scorpia.php
  16. Yeah, I just delete everything once it turns grey. It's not like I'm lacking quests in this game. I'm on Nar Shadaa doing the bonus series right now, I love this planet.
  17. Isn't the clone thing where you need to go shut down a few machines around the map? Maybe that was a different part of the mission.
  18. I like the moon stuff too. I think the media has spun it pretty badly, when you listen to his whole speech his first thing is putting the Florida space programs back in business to create jobs, and then work towards ambitious projects. Obama is going to benefit from the recent jobs numbers, that's for sure. And that should be a long term boosts, unlike when Osama got killed. That helped him short term only, they should have scheduled that for the day before the election GD, I implore you to stop listening to some of these right wing radio hosts, or at least mix in some moderates and maybe an opposing viewpoint here and there. Liberty is not under attack. We haven't become socialists or commies. Obamacare is actually more tame than Social Security and Medicare, which were implemented way before Obama. Go back and look at our tax rates throughout history. They are super low right now comparatively. As for personal freedom, we used to have slavery, segregation. We took Japanese Americans and shoved them in internment camps. This is just sensationalism. We have steadily improved personal freedom. I don't expect to change your beliefs, but your posts make it sound like you have lost faith in our country. I hope that's not true.
  19. I wasn't sure if she lip synched the whole thing, at first I thought it was clearly synched since she was dancing quite a bit, but later in the performance the sound was changing a bit when the mic moved away from her mouth. It doesn't bother me much when dancers lip synch. I wanted to see more dancing from Madonna actually, but she is like 50 now, so I still thought she did pretty well. At least it didn't put me to sleep like the last few years.
  20. Kind of an odd halftime show too. I thought Madonna was decent, I liked her bit with Celo (C-Lo?) the best. It was better than the Black Eyed Peas and The Who. Nothing like Prince wailing away on a purple guitar in the sleet and wind, but that is probably never going to be bested anyways.
  21. If the Republicans had a somewhat decent candidate I'd give them great odds of winning. But Romney is going to have a tough go of it. Maybe I'll vote for Roseanne Barr this year
  22. Pitchers report in 13 days. It was a good game, I was happy the Giants won. I'm not really a fan of either team, but the Patriots have that sort of evil empire thing going on like the Yankees, and it's better to root for the underdog. Eli is definitely an elite quarterback. The first Superbowl win for him was a bit more about team defense, but he carried this team this season all the way to the championship.
  23. You typically don't start to see decent different leveling paths until about a year after release in MMO's.
  24. Nah. Maybe they just work harder because you helped them out with their drama issues, that could work. You clearly don't watch enough movies about crooked cops.
  25. At first I thought it was pretty bizarre to get a ship and missions from Cerberus, but then I spent the entire game undermining The Illusive Man's authority and not trusting them in anything I did. I had multiple conversations with folks about how I didn't trust TIM and was just using their ship because it was my only option. You might be overthinking things, Oblarg.
