I'm excited that when I show my Engineering an Empire movies in class, many of the students will now know who Peter Weller is and not look at me blankly when I yell about Robocop.

I actually agree with Oby, those crowds look overwhelming to me.

Offensive to some? Yes. Sign of bigotry? No. You'd change your picture? How unexpectedly .... spinless. Wow, so Bruce offers to change something that you found offensive, and you call him spineless? Way to endear yourself to the community. -
Fun fact: If a student wrote this on a paper I would put a bunch of question marks next to it.

I never really looked closely at Bruce's avatar until now. -
Double Fine Turn-Based Strategy Kickstarter
Hurlshort replied to C2B's topic in Computer and Console
I am concerned, given that Double Fine doesn't always have the best gameplay (they make up for it in other areas.) But I'll probably back it in the end. -
After Oblivion, I told myself I was not going to buy Skyrim early. I told myself it was not worth paying full price, I would be better off waiting. But somehow it came out and I rushed to the store to buy it. I need therapy.

I loaded up Fallout: New Vegas, a game with the same engine as Skyrim (I think?) and now I'm hooked on wandering around Zion National Park. Very odd how different my experience is with these two games. I definitely didn't feel like I was wasting my time in F:NV.

Hitler also ruined those little mustaches, why isn't Trashman arguing to bring those back? -
I'm thinking a Chicago/Pens final would be the most interesting. I'm going to call that my prediction. Hawks over Kings in 5 - The Blackhawks had their little hiccup, but managed to win 3 straight to advance. I think they stay hot. Quick will need to steal games to keep the Kings in it. Pens over Bruins in 6 - Too many weapons for these Penguinos.

I'm pretty sure Torts is going to join a broadcast crew.

Hitler is long dead. It's time to reclaim the symbols that his regime perverted instead of engaging in Politically Correct self-flagellation. Go, Finland! No. Just no. Hitler was a gigantic monster, and the swastika is a symbol of that. It should continue to remind us of how important it is to be vigilant against evil. You also still have extremist groups using it to spread their hateful messages. Political correctness has nothing to do with it. If there was some big Buddhist movement to reclaim the symbol, I might get behind that. But I doubt you are Buddhist. -
I started up a year old save from Skyrim and ran through a dwarven dungeon. It was boring and took more time than it should have, and so I'll probably not play it for another year.

Yeah I'm not comfortable with Torres wearing the Shark's jersey. I'm surprised the players have no problems with the way he plays.

Nope, I'm not too bummed about this year, they overachieved by sweeping Vancouver and taking the Kings to 7. Their days of being cup favorites are over, but they can still compete and maybe get a surprise run at some point. My suggestion would be to keep the 4th line, trade Pavelski for a decent scoring threat in front, keep all the defensemen and Niemi...just off the top of my head. This is still Thornton and Marleau's team, but they can build around Couture for the future.

I've read both, I've taken theology classes on both, and I've engaged in discourse with both imams and priests about both religions. So I'm pretty comfortable saying you are showing a clear bias towards one group over another. That is bad history. -
Well if they can pull it off and Detroit can finish off Chicago, I'd say the Sharks have a reasonable chance of making their first Cup appearance ever.

Did the most recent Final Fantasy Online game ever end up on the PS3? I realize it doesn't count because it is an MMO, according to greylord's bizarre metric. Red Dead Redemption and the major sports titles strike me as the only big AAA stuff missing from the PC. The sports games could be viewed as a real concern, as they used to be very successful on the PC. Front Page Sports and the EA NHL games were superior to what was offered on the consoles in their respective eras. But that may be the only genre that the PC has really lost completely over the years. It was never the go to platform for JRPG's or platformers. They still get most major FPS and RPG releases, and they dominate the RTS and MMO genres.

Is there a AAA title that was released on multiple consoles and was NOT released on the PC? The PC is still getting most of the big blockbusters.

He'll ignore them or point out that they are "politically motivated" rather than religiously. That is really the point, they are politically motivated. Religion is simply the excuse people use to justify being terrible people. -
Sharks force a game 7, I'm pretty happy about that. I'm still very nervous, but at least they are putting up a good fight.

MMO's, like RTS games, are a perfect example of a genre that does better on PC's than it does on consoles. I have no idea why they would be dismissed as part of the PC gaming landscape. Facebook games (and casual games in general) can be dismissed because the market is clearly shifting towards tablets and phones for that sort of entertainment. You barely need a running PC to play them as well, meaning they do not drive much in the way of hardware sales.

I'm not sure what you are looking to achieve here, that is exactly why the PC is clearly not dying. It has a vibrant and growing independent movement. That's a pretty big deal. Also, Obsidian and InXile aren't exactly small time developers, they are medium sized and they are both finding success by going independent. The big question is can you show me a AAA game that was released on both the 360 and PS3 and was NOT released on the PC?
