  1. Of course, the Santa Clara Police Department saying they will boycott 49ers games is also completely inappropriate. Police departments should be above throwing a temper tantrum because a football player hurt their feelings.
  2. The Kaepernick stuff is weird. First off, I'm not a fan of the way he went about this. Not because I don't think it is fine to have athletes speaking out against police brutality, but rather because it looks more like a guy trying to distract from the fact he is supposed to be a starting QB but has looked terrible for the last two seasons. But then the crazy thing is, it ended up working. Not because people were like, look at that guy making a stand by not standing, how interesting. But because people FLIPPED OUT. It became this huge thing that a backup QB struggling to make the team was not standing. Honestly, if it made you angry that he did not stand, you need to rethink your entire life. He's an athlete, he throws a football for a living, get over it. This would have been a tiny footnote on his wikipedia page before he was cut if people did not flip out about it. At the same time, if you think boycotting the national anthem will end police brutality, you also need to rethink your life. Now the team is in a weird spot, they can't really cut him without it becoming a politically divisive issue, even though he's not starting and making too much money for a backup. His jersey sales are through the roof, because now he's basically a figurehead for anti-authority types. It's a crazy world we live in. The President is being asked about a backup QB on a mediocre football team.
  3. Little disappointed they left out Bruce Versus the Volcano.
  4. Netflix has done some pretty great stuff, but Narcos is simply a cut above. Second season is moving a bit slower, but I'm one episode away and super excited to see how they end it.
  5. I dragged my kids out to a 2-mile trail today for a bit of exercise. First quarter of a mile was complaining from them and terse words from me. Next mile and a half was fun and they seemed to enjoy it. Last quarter of a mile was back to complaining. Kids are weird. They are mad at me now but I am proud they finished.
  6. I'm sure my form is crap, but my scoliosis has always left me wary of such endeavors.
  7. Those things hurt my back just looking at them.
  8. The same mission is in the first game, they even ask you what version you are. I mean homage is all well and fine, but more or less doing the same thing ?. Huh, well I played the original 15 years ago, so I can't really say I noticed much repetition. A funny bit near the end...
  9. Just finished Mankind Divided, and now I am stuck on the end credits. So I figure it is a good time to share my thought. Simply put, I enjoyed it. Great gameplay, good level design, and decent storytelling. It scratched that B&E itch we all have. My only complaints would be the long loading times. The game ran well on my laptop, which is less than two years old, but there were some performance issues. The ending was a bit abrupt, but it did feel like a bridge game. I imagine the next one will wrap up the Jensen mysteries. I didn't kill anyone and it felt great.
  10. Yeah, I read a lot of the books in Dishonored. I do remember playing it a couple times and never getting into the setting, then one attempt just grabbed me and I was hooked to the end. Timing is everything, I suppose.
  11. Ah, the brainwashing guy, that was a fun side mission. I'd go so far as to say the side missions are the best part of the game. The Harvester questline was excellent.
  12. Redneck Rampage is a cultural gem, and Ros needs to get a clue!
  13. That's definitely a bug (or someone died accidentally.) He thanked me for not killing anyone. I had a number of comments about my lack of a body count so far.
  14. I hope I can get through Narcos Season 2 by the end of Labor Day weekend, otherwise I might need to take a day off work.
  15. Sure, that would make sense. I imagine a lot of development houses do this when they can. I just don't see why it would matter to the player unless it looked out of place in the game.
  16. It's a weird list. The first 25 seem geared toward younger audiences.
  17. I'm surprised that they would budget that much for a Deus Ex game, but it is definitely at the bleeding edge of current technology. Also not sure what you are talking about with reused assets. edit: Pretty sure it's a different engine.
  18. And that is why you are the best candidate!
  19. I own it but never got around to playing it. Story of my life.
  20. Speak for yourself. You don't speak for me. He speaks for the collective. You are we, we are you.
  21. I think HR took me about 30 hours to finish. I am already at that with MD and do not seem close to the end. Granted my 10 minute train rides inflate the time played a bit.
