I would guess that the good guys will die at the end, it's supposed to be a suicide mission. Of course, they will probably find some way to make it a hollywood ending.

I certainly hope not, Calax. Honestly I don't see how that is even feasible or realistic given the fact that guns are all over the place. It's unenforceable without going to war over, and it certainly isn't worth doing so. Who would even fight that war? Good luck convincing the military to side with the government on such a ridiculous change in culture.

It's not even feasible or realistic to throw out the 2nd Amendment. As a gun owner in California, I am not worried about the new legislation in the least. My biggest concern is that more than half of it is unenforceable, making it a largely useless and likely to be thrown out in the lower courts. But hey, give the NRA credit, they are extremely effective at spreading their narrative. People love to talk about the liberal media bias, yet the needle never actually moves towards more gun laws.

Can you understand 5-4 Conservative majority vs. 5-4 Liberal majority? You are taking an incredibly complex situation and grossly simplifying it. The Supreme Court can not just throw out the Heller case, or McDonald vs. Chicago. Your gun rights were considerably more at risk 30 years ago than they are today. You also might want to notice that even the dissenting opinions in the Heller case varied, in fact you should read how different the tone of Breyer and Johnson are, because it makes it clear they are not really on the same page. Simply put, this isn't a black and white, liberal versus conservative issue. You should also note that Ginsburg and Breyer are both identified as liberal, and both are well into their later years. They aren't going to live forever. Kennedy is up there as well, of course, but he's often identified near the middle instead of a full conservative. So yeah, there is pretty much no evidence that as soon as Garland is elected, the government is going to take away all our guns. That's just hyperbole.

Considering gun control laws have become more lax and guns even more prevalent in the US, I've never understood this whole "2nd Amendment is under attack!" narrative.

One thing I was thinking about Suicide Squad today...how do they justify a PG-13 rating for this movie? I mean, it's a disturbing film, filled with torture and some pretty messed up deaths. Diablo's story alone is enough to traumatize. I guess it is less the PG-13 rating that bothers me, but rather how this compares to a film like the Avengers. You give these films the same ratings despite being completely different in tone. I don't know, it just seems like the MPAA is more concerned with boobs, swear words, and blood than actual content. I feel like we've gotten to this weird place where every movie is PG-13 nowadays without any real emphasis on themes and content. Why the heck is The Martian PG-13? Because of some salty language and Matt Damon's butt? It's a film that glorifies science and overcoming tremendous odds, it should be watched by everyone. Growing up, we had some pretty scary stuff on the PG scale. Temple of Doom, Gremlins, even Jaws. It means nothing nowadays.

Apparently we are getting another Jack Reacher movie. I enjoyed the first one, and it even convinced me to read a few of the books, so I'm happy. Bit surprised though, I know it wasn't a huge hit, but good news for me.

Went with Suicide Squad. I enjoyed it, it was at its best when it wasn't taking itself too seriously. Harley Quinn and the prison guard were my favorite, but it was really a stellar cast except for Jared Leto. Really, it's tough to step into the shoes after Heath Ledger, and I guess they did their best to really try and make it seem like a totally different character to avoid comparisons. But he was a mess and his story made no real sense in the grand scheme of things. Didn't help that his sidekick was sooooo much more engaging on screen. But it was a fun ride. I only vaguely knew a few of the characters, so that may have helped too.

I get to see one movie today, and I can't decide between Suicide Squad and Jason Bourne.

I actually love to drive. I've driven my RV across the country, I'd rather drive for 7 hours to get to Vegas than make the hour and a half flight. Unfortunately 90% of my driving is spent sitting in traffic trying to get to or away from work. Automated freeway driving would be more efficient, vastly cut down on accidents, and free me up to do other stuff. I fail to see how that is giving up independence. I am telling the car where to go.

I would read that book. It should be required reading around here.

Teacher giving up independence, sad This is stupid. The independence to sit in traffic? To drive in a straight line on a freeway? Oh noes, my liberty! I love when people try to justify doing menial tasks by calling it independence. I have a dishwasher in my house too, I really give up the freedom to hand wash everything.

I just want self driving cars. I should be able to just tell my car where to go so I can focus on important stuff like debating on forums. Holding a steering wheel is for peasants.

Huh, I thought Ghostbusters had pretty lukewarm reviews. I'd hardly call it love. Rotten Tomatoes has it at a 73%. The original GB is at 97%. Alternatively, Captain America Civil War has a 90%. Maybe reviewers just hate DC comics?

Why? As he said, they have a classic mode that has none of the Beamdog content. I mean, say what you will about their content creation, but they are the only ones keeping these classics updated, running, and relevant.

I was excited to hear there was a new Prey coming out, and went to watch the trailer. But then I realized they got rid of the entire Native American stuff that made the game cool, and lost complete interest.

What about Caesar? Surely he is not as acidic as they make him seem. You totally got me to look into the properties of salad dressing, bravo.
