Good old Prager University propaganda.

One of the documents I show my students is an account of a former Roman citizen who lives in lands conquered by the Huns, and he talks about how his tax rates are better under the Huns, and the law and order system is less corrupt. That video made me think of that.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - DA REAL DEAL
In the interview, he says it would be an action rpg/mp game like the glory days of Mass Effect and Destiny. First off, when did ME become the glory days? Secondly that sounds bad. I will stick to the hairbrained vision.

Your Gender/Sex IN VIDEO GAMES, and does it matter to you?
Not at all, I am saying video game avatars tend to represent an ideal. It is not really ideal to be overweight.

You did WHAT...?!
That's super upsetting to hear, but you are clearly a better man than me.

I think your face is super unfunny.

How is that word even in someone's vocabulary?

Your Gender/Sex IN VIDEO GAMES, and does it matter to you?
Since it was brought up, I have some pretty strong opinions on the whole climate we have today regarding weight. While I am going to be quick to defend anyone who is belittled or attacked over their bodies, I'm pretty concerned about the health implications of normalizing obesity. Living healthy and being active SHOULD be priorities in our society. Video games typically represent an ideal or exaggerated version of a person. You can jump higher, fight better, and run longer than the common man or woman. So why would obesity be common?

SW:TOR lets you play a fairly beefy character, male or female.

I agree with you that we should never look at any media outlet as unbiased. They all have their spin. There are tremendous flaws in the whole 24 hour news cycle that we are all subject to today. I just think the only thing worse than a society of biased journalists is a society without journalists at all. What do you replace it with?

Steam Haven
Steam used to run like garbage and had a completely botched offline mode. It seems to be much better now. edit: I originally used borked instead of botched, but after research, it did not quite mean what I thought it did. You learn something new every day!

I don't really see what is so crazy about it, seems like a pretty decent discussion.

I could see the art asset argument being a thing. You only have so many resources to devote. But is it true that Morrowind had breastless Argonians? Seems weird that they would change course on it. I'd love to hear from Bethesda officially on the change.

What you having for dinner tonight?
El Pollo Loco is pretty solid. I'm more about the sandwich shops though. Mr. Pickles is my new favorite.

Mobile games
I only play Wordz Up on my phone.

I expect the male avatars to look good as well, so not really a double standard. They tend to be using it as a funny buzzword more than actual indignation. But I think that glib use of the word at a young age makes it harder for them to have a strong understanding of what racism is. Then you end up with a bunch of kids that think it is funny to be racist and a bunch of kids that think everything is racist. It's ok, I'm taking care of it one class at a time.

All the Literature and Reading Stuff...
Helped along in part by Amazon's pricing tactics in their cool war against major published houses. Why would I spend $20 for either a hardback from B&N or a Kindle edition of a new release when I can buy a new hardback for $12-$16 from Amazon? Crazy thing is since I got my kindle I've read way more books and spent quite a bit less money. Ease of access plus much better deals.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - DA REAL DEAL
You know it's good satire, when people misunderstand what it's criticizing and only prove their point. I was about to explain it to them, but I like your tactic better.
