  1. It's the first I've seen in C&C, at least in a long time. This isn't Bioware.
  2. The Death Star still seems to be the more expensive project though. Wasn't it the size of a small moon?
  3. Sometimes the amount of stuff I have to do after work before relaxing astounds me. Today I got through my 45 minute commute, went to the gas station, then went to the farmer's market for some supplies. Once I got home I got the mail, took the groceries in and dropped my backpack in the kitchen, then got on the kids about homework. I kicked my son off the computer and told him to read, then I helped my daughter with her math. She didn't understand her writing assignment, so I helped her email the teacher and finally put the groceries in the fridge. Then I made a decision about dinner (leftovers!) I realized I had been home 45 minutes at that point and wanted to get a run in. I searched around for my missing backpack, got dressed, and ran away from my responsibilities for a bit. After a quick shower, I'm now able to sit down and relax.
  4. I gave that one a hard pass Yeah, I was pretty ticked off that Netflix had it on my recommended list. I watched a couple episodes expecting it to take a turn or something, but it was just mopey teenage trash.
  5. I love that he crowdfunded to fix the window, ended up with more money, and is donating it to a charity that helps with plumbing in 3rd world countries. Oh and they are still seeing each other!
  6. I don't think they will make an underwater Xcom, I think the undersea stuff is just a tribute to Terror from the Deep. I thought they would do it as an expansion if they were going to go underwater. My guess is Xcom 3 will allow us to take the fight off world in a more developed fashion.
  7. Good luck Orogun.
  8. I used to name my Xcom soldiers after hockey players, but it sounds like you need to name yours after the Golden State Warriors
  9. I was on a mission, and I realized that one of my posters was on the wall of an office. Nice touch!
  10. Bummer, but it did lose my interest in season 2.
  11. Thinking on it, making ice is in desperate need of innovation. It takes hours! I did find a neat ice cube tray that might work: http://www.core77.com/projects/48236/FreezTHAT-Ice-Cube-Tray-Freezes-Ice-in-10-Minutes
  12. After writing up a laundry list of things that need fixing on the RV today, I am inclined to agree with Grommie.
  13. If they can get that down to microwave prices, I can see one in every home.
  14. Yeah, I've got a couple POW's out there, and I'm wondering if I'll ever get to rescue them. I've taken out two of the Chosen bases and and ready to move on the 3rd.
  15. So I looked into it, and apparently the MRAP's are being sold to police departments for $5000, which is actually pretty reasonable for an emergency rescue type vehicle. Although they cost the military around $750k, so it's more of an issue of irresponsible Federal government spending instead of local spending.
  16. There is a trait that lets you recruit the resistance fighters.
  17. One of the points of playing Iron Man is that you are going to sometimes lose. Salvaging what you can and recovering is the more important part. Otherwise just save scum like the majority of people. (me included!)
  18. Given that she lost, it is hard to drum up any enthusiasm about the subject of Hillary's emails.
  19. Power Rangers Movie - My son had been asking for this one for awhile, so I picked it up and we had a family movie night. It actually was much more entertaining than expected. Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks seemed to be having fun with their roles (Cranston plays a wall) and the kids we good. It had a bit of a Breakfast Club becomes superheroes feel to it. I honestly expected to lose interest at some point and wander off, but it was well done from start to finish. Blue Ranger was fantastic, reminded me of a few students I've had over the years on the spectrum, but they didn't overdue it and the whole movie was fun and lighthearted.
  20. As others so eloquently pointed out, I am not sure how a once in a lifetime flood justifies major military hardware for the police.
  21. I don't hate Bethesda games as much as some folks here, but given their terrible character development abilities, I would be very skeptical about them creating a character driven world like GoT. But hey, maybe they'd be more successful with a decent template. I also find it pretty unlikely given they already have ES and it sells tremendously well. Why pay for a license?
  22. unfortunate, am betting the initial school district drug test is more efficacious than the nfl's. HA! Good Fun! Ouch. As an aside, my PE teacher wife did have a couple guys in her classes that made it in the pros. The two NFL guys played a few years and seem to make their living off speaking events nowadays. The NBA guy had a longer career and seems to be doing well for himself. edit: Of course, we went to a state school with a smallish program, so anyone who makes it out of there is probably a bit more realistic about the financial situation they are in. I imagine heavily recruited kids in big programs get a lot of unrealistic expectations.
  23. Hey, you can teach PE with. Kinesiology degree.
  24. No, not really. Filing for bankruptcy is a great way to protect yourself from too much debt and overhead. You will lose assets, but if you are underwater on a lot of stuff, it is typically your best bet.
  25. The big thing to understand is they are probably rich person broke, which is different than what most of us face. If they can figure out a way to cut back on spending and live within their means, they should be fine. But a good chunk of players live like they are still making a million bucks every year.
