RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - FREE WHITE HOUSE MONTAGE
Hurlshort replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Pretty typical when a game drops. All the new weirdos will go away in a week or so, and then we will be left with the regular weirdos. -
But what if that frog is armed with an AR-15?

Hmm, good question. I guess I just assume that living in a heavily religious society (like where its part of your daily government) means you are never more than one slight transgression away from being savagely caned in the town square. I imagine the Europeans view Puritanical America in much the same light.

Lyranor’s back? Seems to blatant to be Nick. Also Nick and Llyr really were two different people. I used to play Xbox Live games with them. I usually had no idea what was going on.

Fleury reminds me a ton of Mike Vernon. They both have stretches where they look like pretty average goalies, but then when the game is important, they just get the job done. They also both are super chill about it.

Sharks had a good year, but they are going out with a wimper in this last game. Aw well, always next season. I am interested to see how far the Knights can take this. Fluery is the best goalie left and he looks so relaxed in the net right now.

Well we all know that alcohol is the devil's drink.

Well, the bug issue is a legitimate concern, because odds are decent that a game of this size and scale will have bugs, and you may end up affected, and they might not even get fixed. That being said, if you enjoyed PoE regardless of the bugs, it's a pretty safe bet that you will enjoy Deadfire. As for the MCA issue, it seems to be a rather silly reason to not buy the game, unless you think the lack of his writing will really bring down the quality. You aren't buying a share of the company, you are just buying a product from them. The inner workings of their business practices might be worth boycotting if they were using child labor or something else more villainous, but this is hardly that. A messy divorce is a good comparison, and I don't see how it is any of my business unless I am an employee of the company.

I would eat asparagus every day if I could. Sprinkle a little sea salt and pepper on it with a light drizzle of olive oil and it grills up great.

Hero-U Kickstarter: Quest For Glory spiritual successor

I'm excited, but I'm also not in a rush to play the beta. Although it is apparently a complete build from start to finish. -
Yeah, I have about 400 without checking. I typically only keep a couple installed.

Since they have a fictional place from Icewind Dale listed as their location, the odds are somewhat decent that they do live in Bavaria (or at least Germany.) edit: Side note, my first guess was that he lived in Afghanistan, which might have given insight into the Muslim immigrant concern. But then I looked up Kuldahar and realized it is not the same as Kandahar. Please enlighten me as to why a Bavarian or German would be more likely to list the fictional place of Kuldahar as their location than anyone else in the world? It happens to arguably be the best track in the game, but I don't get the Deutsch connection https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhVxvv4VWLc No connection. It just means he could be from anywhere, given his lack of a real location. Given his outrage and knowledge of German states, it seems reasonable to guess he is from there.

They can't take away an ownership stake necessarily, but they can remove him from his position. Ownership is separate from management. Look at what happened to Steve Jobs. All of my information on this comes from the HBO series Silicon Valley.

I don't appreciate the way the Codexians treat my good friend Volo, so I've always stayed pretty far away from it.

Probably good to remember that MCA was with Obsidian for a decade. Burnout happens. Comparing his time at Obsidian to contract work is not all that useful.

Eh, I doubt anyone is going to be losing their job as a result of Avellone's comments on the Codex of all places. I meant his comments might be reason for lost sales. We had already one person in this thread to cancel his pledge. I am wondering how many more people could do the same... Even 1000 people cancelling, means about 50000 USD to be paid back. And that is basically money for 1 person contracted for 1 year... Or maybe that 1 person is just one person. Or maybe that one person represents 10 percent, which is still just a handful of people. Honestly the idea that 1000 people are going to cancel over this is fairly absurd. Single digits seems a better bet.

What bothers me most is someone other than Tale is using a Sam & Max avatar.

Always a ray of sunshine, Val.

Huh, reminds me of Myth. -
As someone who recently had to swap health plans due to a job change, I speak from experience when I tell you it is a gigantic mess. No tenuous relationship required to feel like you are getting the run around.
-
All that healthcare stuff is really more between him and HR rather than management. Given how overly complicated everything has been in the last few years, I'd guess it has less to do with anyone trying to rake him over the coals and more to do with the fact the entire health insurance industry is a huge pain in the rear.
-
Got it Heh, I like that you cancelled because they are apparently a terrible company and yet they refunded you with no problems in a super polite manner. Nice.

We've had a few of these already and they never get locked. It isn't Bioware. As long as we don't start getting personal, I doubt Obsidian or the mods are worried about it.
