  1. KD isn't even the greatest player on his team.
  2. Ignorance is bliss, people.
  3. Stream of consciousness writing makes me question the importance of free speech.
  4. As a real world example, I have $8,882 deducted a year for my family plan, my employer kicks in another $19,998 for the year. Then we have a $10,000 deductible that we have to hit, which we did last year. Add in co-pays we hit $40k for a healthy active family of 4 pretty easily. That doesn't include dental or eye care.
  5. Ask and ye shall receive:
  6. Sure. But the US still pays ridiculously more than everyone else. https://www.healthsystemtracker.org/chart-collection/health-spending-u-s-compare-countries/#item-average-wealthy-countries-spend-half-much-per-person-health-u-s-spends
  7. Free healthcare isn't a liberal ideal, it's a realistic reaction for anyone who who looks at all the crap our health insurance companies do and how much money we give them every month. Add that to an incomprehensible medical provider billing system and I don't get why anyone thinks the current system is any good, progressive or conservative.
  8. Man, both of those last two were pretty dang young.
  9. My guess is actually that it is being brewed at a large facility with inexpensive bulk grains and hops. You get a lot of attempts nowadays by large breweries to throw out craft looking beers. Let me check.... Brewed by Custom tap brews in New York. Probably some big old brewery that is churning out stuff like this. The guys in the shed probably make better stuff.
  10. I picked up a nice Guinness pack: I usually stay away from the stuff, since the Guinness we get in the US is pretty weak, but I'm excited to try the mix and compare.
  11. I watched an episode of Russian Doll and I think I got lung cancer from all the smoking.
  12. I'd say there is a big difference between intervening in an invasion and being the invaders. We intervened in Kuwait during the Gulf War, and it has been fairly stable since. We invaded Iraq and it is a mess. In WWII you can make the same argument. Japan and Germany were the invaders.
  13. I would say it is a muffin. But that's good, because muffins are considered healthy.
  14. Wear that dented spoiler like a badge of honor.
  15. It would have been nice to see Harper with the Giants, but 13 years is a crazy long contract.
  16. As stated, probably easier to go play football for a couple seasons, washout, and then go play baseball. Heck, Tim Tebow is doing that now and apparently still has a shot. I do miss the days of the two sport athletes.
  17. They call them freshmen for a reason. Best thing for all parties involved would be for them to get less of the spotlight while they grow into the job.
  18. He was studying the rings on Uranus.
  19. Age of Conan was a fantastic RPG for the first 20 levels.
  20. I never bought Andromeda for one reason...it isn't on Steam. It's not a protest or anything, it's just I only log into Origin on the rare occasion, but I log into Steam every day, and every day I see that store page, and every day some game on my radar pops up, and eventually I end up buying them all. But I never really get reminded that I haven't bought Andromeda, or that it is now on sale, so I still haven't picked it up. So I'd say EA can fix some issues by simply opening themselves up to all outlets.
  21. I'd say it's fair to be concerned about Bioware as a consumer. It seems like they damaged the Mass Effect IP with Andromeda, and that was in their wheelhouse. Now Anthem is generating a negative buzz, and that is an attempt to launch a new IP for them. They do seem to be in need of a hit. I just don't see why I would root for such a thing. Sure, there is this idea that they have lost sight of the date they brought to the dance with Anthem, but you also don't want to be a stagnant company that does not adjust with the market. I'm rooting for a solid Dragon Age 4 and an eventual return to the ME universe. Or Jade Empire 2!
  22. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-47364081 My first thought when reading the headline was "I thought the Vandals had dispersed long before any Crusaders arrived on the scene."
  23. I imagine there will still be a booming research industry for erectile dysfunction.
  24. Ugh, Kindergarten. Trust me, that would be more work.
  25. Super reasonable to root for people to lose their jobs. Classy.
