  1. I have a 20 year old truck with 267k miles on it. Parts are actually pretty easy to find and replace.
  2. Lagers are getting some love in the craft beer world, so there should be some good options out there now. It's a longer process than ales, so it can take a bit of patience.
  3. I just hope they appreciate my high score in WordzUp!
  4. Wu Assassins seems pretty fun, kind of has that Big Trouble in Little Chinatown feel. Although it is a bit unrealistic. I mean, one guy asks to borrow money for rent, and he only asks for $1200. Puhleeeze, rent for anything in San Francisco is 4 times that.
  5. I'd say 50/50. Of course, I didn't think there was any way in heck he would win after being caught on camera talking about grabbing women in the crotch, so what do I know?
  6. Screwball on Netflix is possibly the best documentary I have ever seen. I mean, it is a great story, but the reenactments are just perfect.
  7. I never take any thralls with me. They are for crafting and looking cool on the parapets.
  8. Bingo. I suppose you can argue the Japanese internment camps were better because they didn't separate families, but I'd say they are both tragic and terrible parts of US History.
  9. Kids these days! Take responsibility for your actions whipper snapper. Also condolences on the loss of your parents.
  10. They shift with every administration on a federal level. Of course, state and local laws are going to vary as well. https://www.pbs.org/weta/washingtonweek/blog-post/how-us-immigration-laws-have-changed-over-past-25-years
  11. I know I have gone over this like a billion times, but it is not a criminal offense to be in the country illegally. It is civil. So yeah, it is also illegal to jaywalk. Also we are regularly shifting immigration laws in this country, so it shouldn't be a surprise that it is a complicated issue, instead of the black and white one so many people seem to think it is.
  12. I'm not sure about Endgame being garbage. I watched it at home recently, and it was an enjoyable bit of action. I mean, they were tying up a bunch of loose threads from multiple franchises that are all connected, so I think it deserves a fair bit of credit for not being a train wreck.
  13. There is a pretty interesting history behind the Bracero program.
  14. Where did you read it is an economy wrecker?
  15. You should have sent a postcard back with a simple "tl;dr" I've always had bad handwriting. I hand write a ton of comments on projects and papers for students, and they often bring them up to me so I can decode the writing. But that also gives me a chance to talk it over with the students who care enough to find out. Ah, just a few more days until I get back in the classroom. I think I'm ready, it was a very restful summer.
  16. My condolences daven. He is lucky he had someone like you checking on him and with him in the last moments.
  17. That is terrible Bart, but it sounds like the kids are young enough to still have a shot at a normal life, hopefully with you.
  18. Yeah, I still play it from time to time. It's still a blast to get around the maps, and the DC lore is great. It shows its age a bit, but not as bad as some of the games out there.
  19. The rationale is that we are all responsible for making the world a better place. Empathy, self-awareness, humility, etc. What does it cost you?
  20. Hey, I totally agree with this as well. But it never works to just tell the other side to calm down. You have to step back and look at yourself to get there.
  21. Yes, all car owners (drivers) should be ashamed of reckless drivers, and I'd probably say it would fall on coders to be ashamed of hackers, since your average computer user has little understanding of how to hack anything. Yes, they should all feel invested in finding solutions to those problems, because that would make the world a better place. What, exactly, is wrong with shame? Does it hurt your sensitive snowflake feelings to be ashamed? I'm ashamed about that comment, and that's alright. I can grow from it.
  22. Why do I have to answer the question? You are the one with the guns. You should be answering the question. Every responsible gun owner should be desperately ashamed and racking their brains for ways to stop mass shootings. The NRA should be leading the charge to stop gun violence. Nobody wants to take responsibility for anything. They just want to dig in. Also the whole narrative that shame is somehow a bad thing boggles my mind. I have no problem with the idea that white males should be ashamed that other white males are committing mass shootings. Germans spent decades being ashamed of WW2. The South should be ashamed of slavery. Muslims should be ashamed of Islamic Extremists. Fat people should be ashamed of all the terrible health problems in the US. The US should be ashamed about Japanese Internment camps. They should be ashamed about the current border crisis. Shame doesn't actually hurt you. It should be pushing you to do better.
  23. Well I'm over guns at this point. I mean, I was over them after a classroom full of 1st graders was shot to death: So yeah, just over it. But hey, hopes and prayers and all that. Lets argue over semantics and entrench ourselves along party lines like we always do, because it seems to be really helping.
