  1. Yeah, I'm pretty sure a bunch of political experts didn't think Trump could win, either. We are in uncharted territory, I'm not going to even bother trying to predict who can win the presidency. edit: Always good to remember the same people who call Bernie a communist were calling Obama a Muslim terrorist.
  2. Bernie's VP choice will be important, I'd imagine, given his age. That was a big concern with McCain, and I'd argue his biggest mistake in the 2008 campaign.
  3. I took my son to his first NHL game last night. I think I took him to a couple when he was younger, but he doesn't remember it. He's 9 now and has been playing for 3 seasons. He's actually played two games at the Shark Tank with his mite teams, so it was fun for him to see the big guys on the ice. Sharks are having a pretty mediocre year, which is why it was easy for me to get tickets. I spend so much for the two of us to play that I have a hard time shelling out much money to watch a game. Still, I've been to two games this season and Patrick Marleau has scored in both of them. The guy has 22 seasons in the NHL with 10 or more goals. That is remarkable.
  4. I'm not going to die from eating the stuff, but I've been dealing with a bunch of stomach issues and we are trying to rule stuff out. I've got to go see a GI doctor and probably get a scope, because I think it is more bacteria related than diet. Typically I just get bad heartburn or acid reflux from nuts and processed breads. It's gotten worse as I've aged. Dairy is also a bit of an issue. Curry is great! I have a lot of rice and veggie dishes I lean on heavily. I'm just giving all these gluten free trendy items a try to see if they help. So far it's a mixed bag.
  5. I found out that I'm allergic to nuts, wheats, soy, and dairy. So I've been trying to figure out a way around that. I had some chickpea spaghetti last night. It was a failure. Sunbutter cups from Trader Joe's have been a pretty good substitute for Reese's, at least.
  6. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the 18-year old kids taking out these loans deserve a little slack. You have universities raking them over the coals and financial institutions jumping at the chance to lock them in to long term debt. College costs have skyrocketed over the last couple decades, and banks are making a tremendous profit off that. But yeah, let's just pin it on the people who are barely old enough to legally drink.
  7. I have no idea what any of that means. But I'm sure it is me, and not your communication skills. Carry on.
  8. I post all that cool stuff and you nitpick GoT being a book? Pshaw! Hey, at least the show and the game had endings. At least I assume, since I didn't watch or play them. But I know the book is never coming.
  9. They had success with Game of Thrones, Back to the Future, and Law & Order as well. Are all of those Lego games based on toys or movie franchises? Are all Star Wars games terrible? Ducktales, woo-oo! I bought the guidebook for The Goonies II on the NES back in the day and it was fantastic. We had fantastic Indiana Jones games, and Bladerunner was also favorite. I agree a lot of games based on movies and TV were trash, but a good developer makes all the difference. If Obsidian can pull off a good South Park game, I think they can handle the Firefly IP. As I said, I don't see why they would bother, since Outer Worlds is already developed. 8-bit Cyndi Lauper!
  10. I always consider it poor taste to jump on somebody right after they die. I understand the desire to temper some of the praise he is getting right now, but it reflects more poorly on the living than the dead.
  11. Fantastic pain cave! A bunch of my riding buddies are on Zwift and seem to love it. The setup alone is pretty pricey, but relieving the monotony of the trainer is priceless. Also playing an MMO where grinding makes you stronger in the real world is fantastic. They've added treadmill support too. It will be interesting if they figure out how to implement the swim.
  12. Adam Driver on SNL. The show has been on a roll lately. Eddie Murphy was a huge boost, but I don't think there has been a weak show this season.
  13. I'm not sure about that. Certainly the reverse has been true, as all video games to cinema attempts have been miserable, but I can think of a number of good games based on tv and film properties. Heck, Telltale Games had a fairly good run based solely on that model.
  14. So I've started watching ST:Enterprise. I am enjoying it, Scott Bakula is fun and it has been easy to jump into the story after a long time not watching ST. I also like that I can kind of keep it on in the background while I do other things. That opening theme song is terrible though.
  15. Geez, these are some crazy loan situations. I actually just paid off my $13k loan from my year of grad school. It took close to 15 years at about $115 a month. The interest rate was 3.375. I mean, I could have and should have paid it off faster, but at the end of the day it was always my lower interest rate debt compared to auto loans and credit cards.
  16. Hah, that is debatable. Wait, I remember, you are GD's dog.
  17. Llyr/nickiam or pixiesrock.
  18. I am going to go out on a limb and say SonicMage. Maybe Krezack, but not sophisticated enough. I mean, I get Obsidian is an rpg company, but it is weird how many accounts feel the need to play a characterization here.
  19. Why would they pay for an IP after already developing a fairly similar universe themselves?
  20. I feel like I'm too far removed from Star Trek. I mean, I watched the JJ Abrams movies, but I've skipped STD and never really watched Enterprise or Voyager. Am I too far gone?
  21. I'm going to assume you were not laughing at brain injuries. But your initial post comes across that way. So rather than clarifying your point, you are doubling down on the miscommunication, which is standard protocol for you. edit: To clarify my question, I am not sure what you are referring to as pathetic. CNN? The Military? The Trump response? Brain injuries? Iran? Footlockers?
  22. Huh, hard to have much faith in the idea of a KotOR reboot. I mean, it seems unlikely that it would be a rich RPG experience.
  23. Are you laughing at brain injuries?
  24. This guy has a future in politics.
