  1. MMORPG's are better than single player games.
  2. Decided to watch Suicide Squad with my daughter, since we will probably catch Birds of Prey in the next week or so. I enjoyed it in the theater when it came out, but I so rarely go to see movies that it is always a bit of fun just to have the big screen experience. I still really enjoyed Margot Robbie and that is what makes it a watchable film. But it was not fun watching more Jared Leto and the silliness of the plot didn't hold up well with a second viewing. Also it was a TBS version, meaning it was edited. I think that might have helped by shortening it up a bit.
  3. The crazy thing is I would love to see the vocational and trade school stuff brought back into High Schools, and he covered that in the State of the Union as well. It's just hard to celebrate that in between all the rhetoric and sniping.
  4. I am all for major educational reform. Yes, a good start would be not throwing 30+ kids in with one teacher and expect they are all going to thrive.

  6. Yes, clearly the best way to improve our public education system is to send more people to private schools.
  7. Don't even get me started.
  8. Yeah, I felt like I was murdering a lot of people in the first Drake's game. I have no idea if i got any better in future titles, but I was just shooting wave after wave of people and it seemed pretty excessive for a treasure hunter.
  9. I won two pies in Millersburg, IA when I was seven years old. Good times. Kind of strange that people who lived through the civil rights movement even bat an eye over rainbow flags.
  10. Nice to hear, MedicineDan.
  11. I think I'm getting on board a Bernie vs. Trump ticket. It's completely unpredictable. We know who is going to vote for Biden. We have no idea what types of people will show up for Sanders. Given how unpredictable Trump is, I'd say it could be a perfect storm.
  12. That's the gold standard for half time performances.
  13. Shakira was great in the haltime show. JLo was as expected. Pretty solid show overall.
  14. Huh, that really makes me want to play Detroit: Becoming Human
  15. I guess it is comforting to know that even video game characters make terrible tattoo decisions in their life.
  16. I miss peanuts most of all. This might not be a permanent deal, but I'm supposed to go a bit without anything and then slowly reintroduce stuff. Tonight I had Salmon, rice, and grilled brussel sprouts. Typically I marinate my salmon in teriyaki or a soy sauce type marinade, but tonight I went with brown sugar and a seed style Dijon mustard. It turned out really well.
  17. This is a fantastic data breakdown of the sign stealing scandal: http://signstealingscandal.com/ Personally I'm not that upset about the whole thing. It's a major violation, for sure, and I think the penalties to those involved are warranted. It is important to try and stay ahead of the technology here, and I hope this will lead to more oversight. But I don't think you can wipe out titles or anything crazy like that. People are always going to look for ways to get an edge in the game. This crossed a line, but Houston was still a talented team. They've now tarnished that entire legacy with this, and that alone is probably punishment enough. Which is a shame, because they still had to do a lot of other things to win that title, and that is all overshadowed now.
  18. Honestly I'd be a lot more concerned if people didn't change over the course of 40+ years.
  19. Yeah, I'm pretty sure a bunch of political experts didn't think Trump could win, either. We are in uncharted territory, I'm not going to even bother trying to predict who can win the presidency. edit: Always good to remember the same people who call Bernie a communist were calling Obama a Muslim terrorist.
  20. Bernie's VP choice will be important, I'd imagine, given his age. That was a big concern with McCain, and I'd argue his biggest mistake in the 2008 campaign.
  21. I took my son to his first NHL game last night. I think I took him to a couple when he was younger, but he doesn't remember it. He's 9 now and has been playing for 3 seasons. He's actually played two games at the Shark Tank with his mite teams, so it was fun for him to see the big guys on the ice. Sharks are having a pretty mediocre year, which is why it was easy for me to get tickets. I spend so much for the two of us to play that I have a hard time shelling out much money to watch a game. Still, I've been to two games this season and Patrick Marleau has scored in both of them. The guy has 22 seasons in the NHL with 10 or more goals. That is remarkable.
  22. I'm not going to die from eating the stuff, but I've been dealing with a bunch of stomach issues and we are trying to rule stuff out. I've got to go see a GI doctor and probably get a scope, because I think it is more bacteria related than diet. Typically I just get bad heartburn or acid reflux from nuts and processed breads. It's gotten worse as I've aged. Dairy is also a bit of an issue. Curry is great! I have a lot of rice and veggie dishes I lean on heavily. I'm just giving all these gluten free trendy items a try to see if they help. So far it's a mixed bag.
  23. I found out that I'm allergic to nuts, wheats, soy, and dairy. So I've been trying to figure out a way around that. I had some chickpea spaghetti last night. It was a failure. Sunbutter cups from Trader Joe's have been a pretty good substitute for Reese's, at least.
