  1. If not for the Resident Evil series, the GC would be worthless junk. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And the Metroids, and the Zelda(s), and the Pikmins, and all the other crazy (but good) stuff Nintendo comes up with. I'd say game for game, theirs is probably the most innovative crop this time around. PS2 has a MASSIVE library, with some choice picks as well. And the Xbox's saving grace is loads of cash to back it, and the fact that I want to mod one to play my old roms and emulators on.
  2. I voted number 3, when are you coming for me? It looks just as okay as any other MMORPG (if that's what it is, I haven't looked into it, just read SP's post), which means just like any other MMORPG, I won't touch it with a 10 foot pole.
  3. Or massive inventories...or huge employee bases...or shipping between many smaller hubs to distribute their product to all the different stores... It's all overhead Hades, which is what SP was referring to.
  4. Splinter Cell IS awesome, at least if my experience with the last two titles serves to be the case with the newest installment (no question it will be really), I'll be buying the newest installment as soon as I can get down to the EBGames at the mall. My favorite line is still the one from Jerusalem: "So this is where all that peace and love came from."
  5. I can't remember any games offhand besides the Thief Series that did sneaking in FP well. I can remember several games/series offhand that did it well in third person though. Most notable to me being the Hitman, and Splinter Cell franchises, Beyond Good & Evil, as well as Bloodlines. Sneaking was done well, and was quite fun for me in all these games...most games that try to implement sneaking in FP fail horribly because of the lack of senses other than sight. The excellent sound in the Thief series is quite possibly the only thing that made it work. It's really neither here nor there though so long as we're talking about Fallout, as an RPG doesn't work like other games because of skillchecks, traits, etc.
  6. Damn...now I need my very own box of Dark Side Cheez-Its.
  7. 1M ANGRY BECOZ i DONT GET TO SEE JESICA ALBAS BOOBS!!!1!1!11!!!1 Anyone who has been on the IMDB board for Sin City will understand the above.
  8. <internet high five> You do know that was supposed to be a trilogy right? Man, the ending pissed me off considering how poor the sales were and we might not ever get the story wrapped up. Indeed. I suppose it's my only highly anticipated game at the moment. I tend to go for story, writing and character development, and I don't know of any other games coming out in the near term which promise those first and foremost. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you don't mind adventure games, and you haven't already played it, Beyond Good & Evil comes highly recommended, I just replayed though it, it's still good.
  9. Game Engine does not equal Camera angle. They could have any angle they wanted, heck Morrowind had 2 different angles: First person and over the shoulder. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You are probably right. As I mentioned in my post I don't know much about the limitation a game engine have. But they aren't familiar with the entire Isometric view, while they know alot about 1st person view. Personally I just hope that they do stay true to the old Fallout as much as they can. In terms of settings, looks, humor and such. Nothing wrong with improving it, and I don't know how the game would play if it was 1st person view. There are advantages in playing fallout in 1st person view. When you sneak up on someone you know if they can see you as soon as you can see them. We will maybe have some official word in the next couple of months. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Third Person Over the Shoulder (Bloodlines, Splinter Cell, Beyond Good & Evil) is better for sneaking IMO. Problem with sneaking in first person, is you end up suffering from the 'tunnel vision' in all FP games. In real life you have other senses that tell you if someone is near, but not so in a game world.
  10. I do seem to remember a bug, when trying to reenter the mortuary... There was a work around, but it's all from old memory now (never ran into it myself, just reciting what I read elsewhere)... There is a guy, Pox, which you can ask to give you lift into the mortuary, that should "circumvent" the naughty trigger. Of course, it only works if it's that particular bug you are running into. You might want to ask Pox for a ride. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Already met Pox, forgot about that way, I'm off to try it now and I'll post later if it doesn't work. Damn shame the portal [Arch-->Tomb] is only one way.
  11. My fix was I'm now playing it on my laptop. Unfortunately, I've ran into a bug I never encountered on the Desktop on THAT computer, I'm trying to gain access to the Mortuary to follow up on whatever happened to that Archer dude I used to travel with. I'm a member of the Dustmen faction, so I walk up to to the Guard guy out front, say "I have some questions." Then go with "I'm an Initiate of the Fifth Circle, will you give me access to the Mortuary?", then it goes to the loading screen, and proceeds to crash to the desktop. I've tried restarting the game, I've tried restarting the computer, it always crashes. Is there any other way into the Mortuary?
  12. Listen to this man, he speaks the truth! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> AMD FO' LIFE HOMIE!
  13. First Console JRPG was Shining Force...but I played it on PC via the Sega Smash Pack. After I found out that the software Sega used to make it was based on an open source emulator (K-Gens IIRC) I got involved in some rather shady acquisition methods for old Console Games... First CRPG was KotOR. Since then I've sunk my teeth into Torment, started Fallout, and have Fallout II waiting. I'll buy more when I finish these, just not much time for gaming right now.
  14. That would be good, as I'm able to play it for longer on my desktop than my laptop (laptop heats up during lengthy gaming sessions). Still works on the Laptop, befuddled as to why it used to work on my desktop, and nothing's changed since then [hardware/drivers], and now it won't. Ask him if he ever moved the files around too (as in out of the save directory to somewhere else, and back again), as that seems to be the most likely culprit thus far.
  15. Heh, the wireless mouse on the laptop was working fine. This mouse was working before I imported the new saves from my laptop (and it's neither wireless or Logitech). Odd. Computer configuration hasn't changed since the last time I've played. I'll do some virus checking later. My younger sister wants on right now so there's really no time right now.
  16. Oh well, guess I'll just finish this playthrough up on my Laptop...if it's not already bugged.
  17. Hrm, could it be something to do with importing the save files from my Laptop to my Desktop that done made it bugger up?
  18. No, no, no. I did that the first time around. If I did that this time, it would mean I couldn't even get the game to run. I installed the FIX-PACK off that one site they linked me to in the other thread. This is frustrating.
  19. Only thing I can think of that's different since my last play through is I installed the Fix-Pack, I have the 2-CD Double Jewel edition, basically what happens, is the camera refuses to pan over the world map after a couple seconds of navigating it. Going into the Map, or any of the other Menu screens fixes it, but only for a couple more seconds, so unless I can figure out how to fix it, I'll either have to switch to Lock-On Character view [a [pain], or be constantly clicking the menu buttons and going back to the game [also a pain].
  20. The first step to solving your problem is admitting you have one...
  21. Don't get me started on Soda vs. Pop vs. Coke vs. Soda Pop.
  22. That's like saying you prefer abstinence to foreplay without sex. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...who doesn't?
