  1. That's a lot of leveling-up time! Though given the sheer number of times I've played them, I'm sure that Torment, Master of Orion 2, and Final Fantasy 6 have each racked up that many hours of my time. I'd buy more games for $50 if I saw more games that were worth it. The only game I bought upon release in the last two years was Thief: Deadly Shadows. Well worth it. I suspect my wife will buy Bloodlines as soon as I return it to my friend. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL!!! That game was worth $70...easy.
  2. Instead of buying top of the line equipment, I usually buy second best equipment, that's just experienced pricedrops. I can usually get by for about three years on that stuff, before I have to upgrade, though towards the end, I'm running at lower resolutions than at the beginning. It's really not hard, just takes getting used to. What components were these perchance? I don't want to lose the ability to play the BIS games when I next upgrade.
  3. It asked whether or not you give control to the things you fear. I fear women, but that's more likely to manifest itself with stumbling over my words and avoidance. The people I really should fear (i.e. the people who could do damage to me, financial, physical, mental, or otherwise), I'm too bullheaded to backdown to. I thrive on argument, therefore if challenged, even though it's likely to have negative side effects I don't back down. I think it's something similar to how a little dog will bark like crazy at the bigger dog, in an attempt to make itself look more powerful than it is. That or I'm just bullheaded.
  4. Morte for me. What I really want to be is The Nameless One though. How wonderful it would be to be able to drift through life with no name, no one ever able to find you if you didn't want to be found. Names have power.
  5. I voted never. But only because I'm too bullheaded to know what and what not to fear.
  6. *sniff* He was a good, albeit crazy man...a good man indeed.
  7. LOL! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's not that I really want to name them after myself. God only knows, I haven't done anything worthwhile with my life. But James Thomas Griffith The Second (my grandfather), fought and survived Iwo-Jima, as well as being an all around badass and good guy. If I didn't do it, his legacy would die. If I have any other boys, I want to name at least one of them Morte.
  8. Did it die so badly that you're having to whore it out now? Pimping sites isn't easy man, it makes you feel dirty, and can get you flamed. Anyway, BACK IN YOUR BOX BLINKY!!! -Colossus
  9. It takes knowledge of the dark arts, a strong bit of luck, and tasty delicious waffles to summon Master Chris Avellone. Or you can just post here or a handful of other RPG-Centric boards, and hope he spots your posts. I'm not sure how successful PMing him would be, as I've never felt the desire to, but it might be worth a go.
  10. My name is James Thomas Griffith The Third. I am from that little town, Grass Valley, located in California. Thanks to my parents, if I ever have kids, I am now forced to name at least one after myself. That poor, poor child.
  11. Fixed. " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fixed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fixed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fixed. ^_^ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's going in my sig along with the Bespin Showdown Rewrite (Robot Chicken).
  12. Loderunner I & II...I spent so many hours playing these games on my Apple IIe.
  13. Metroid Fusion was b!tchin'. It reminded me why I loved the SNES so much, as well as that good games still do in fact exist.
  14. Indeed. It's always good for amusement when Volo brings out the logic-killing argument "Pwning people is slavery, if you believe in slavery, you should be banned."
  15. Does anyone else get the irony? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We are all posting on a message board, the ultimate waste of time.
  16. Halo=Most overrated FPS ever. Is available on PC however if you want to waste your money on a game with repetitive level design, and fairly uninspired general design, go ahead. Fable=Most overrated GAME ever. Jade Empire=In all probability will be available on the PC with time. KotOR=Is available on the PC. KotORII=Was going to eventually be on PC from the time of release if you didn't succumb to dishonest marketing ploys. Splinter Cell Franchise: Latest one is available on the PS2, the other two are both available on the PC, in fact, Ubi gave simulataneous releases for them on all platforms which freaking rocked.
  17. True since Game dropped it's prices. It's 99p cheaper (the cost of postage) KOTOR online cost 30.98 and 29.99 in store (minus usual discount). I do enjoy being able to order when I like and then having everything arrive on Thursday though , whether I am here or not. Which is the real reason I shop online. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Things come on different days of the week here depending on postage traffic, what day you order it on, etc. Plus we live in the boonies, so postage is rather erratic anyway, especially if it's not sent by UPS (Fed Ex/USPS up here SUCKS big time). I'll usually try to get down to the mall if I'm going to buy a game brand new, or for their used section (I don't like buying used games online, gotten too many scratched discs that way, they'll let me take a look at the discs at EBGames before I hand them my cash to make sure they're not damaged, can't do that online), just because I really like the store, and the whole experience of going in, chatting with the guys at the register, etc. Plus the tasty smoothies in the food court are...tasty. Usually end up getting the game quicker if I'm paying fullprice for it anyway too.
  18. I like slow descriptive books for the most part (Brahm Stoker's Dracula comes to mind, LotR, Anne Rice stuff, some Orson Scott Card, etc. ), but also enjoy slow with bits of fast (Tom Clancy), and everything in between. I read a lot, Asimov's probably my favorite author of all time, and between all his books, I'd say each of them spans all different types of pacing, his Foundation series is probably the slowest by and large, but I still love the earlier books he did, and even his short stories. <edit> I just realized I forgot to mention Heinlein, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is probably my favorite book by him, shaped my views on politics quite a bit it did. </edit>
  19. In Jr. High they had this crappy series of 'talent show' events to promote school spirit or some load of bollocks like that. The group I was with ended up lipsynching to that song. They were doing horribly awfully, so I jumped in the middle of my stage, ripped my shirt off, and swung it over my head like some sort of demented aminal. We managed to get second place after I did that, I think the judges felt sorry for my flabby midsection.
  20. It's out of print and getting hard to find. I suggest you order it off the internets post haste.
  21. Not always, if you're buying a game the week it hits or so (I really want to do this with the new Splinter Cell, but come to think of it, I really shouldn't be buying anymore games as busy as I am), they're generally the same price, or even MORE expensive online.
  22. Surely a fate worse than death!
