  1. Good for Crytek, they really deserved it. And like it or not, because of the way KotOR II's story fizzled out (don't bother me with reasons, I know), HL2's [almost nonexistent] story was better.
  2. He didn't mention Bloodlines...That game is b!tchin'.
  3. Once again, I LIKED the endings in Bloodlines. One of the best endings I've seen in any game though (yes I know it was not an RPG) was Mafia. That ending made me tear up a little.
  4. 6600GT can be gotten online for $180. or so. Its not like its a $600. card. This is a average card in todats market IMO. As gamers, technology moves forward and we much move forward with it. Those who want to get 5 yrs out of their video card/cpu should think of a new hobby IMO. As this is a hobby they requires an investment every 12-18 months. I understand they are aiming for the lowest common denominator to get the most sales, but that has proven to be a false theory. Look at Doom3, HL2, Sims 2, Vampire all require a above average system to run good and they have all been on the top 15 best sellers list for weeks. Thus I question the above logic by some developers. Also I point out NWN 2. Its been stated clearly they are not shooting for the lowest common denominator as NWN 1 did. No TNT2 16meg video card is going to run it.. so developers are moving in that direction. I am sad that IG has not though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't believe you didn't mention Rome: Total War. Some of the larger scale battles in that game brought my system to a crawl whereas HL2, Bloodlines, Doom3, et al ran just fine.
  5. You do realize HDDs are more unstable than CD-Rs right? As soon as your HDD goes, you can say buh-bye to all your games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well in the 11 years I've been a PC owner a harddisk has never failed me .. but alot of CD's have, I guess it's because I treat my internal computer better than accessories.. plus I burn copies of them once in a while (and then they get lost and I make new ones), so if something should happen to the harddisk I do have backups .. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1. What brand of HDDs do you buy? 2. What Antivirus and Firewall do you use?
  6. I agree, now I'm free to play my giant green superhero THE HRULK in peace. Smashing things for the good of people everywhere.
  7. I found it funny too, but I already figured I was going to purgatory.
  8. I find it's not the CDs I lose, but the damned CD keys needed to install games these days! Plus for the UK market they tend to package the games differently (they have a DVD box fetish over here) but don't change any of the text, so the packaging says "the CD key is in location X" when it's actually in completely different location Y! Often on the minuscule and useless little manual supplied with the game, which is of course the first thing to be lost. Argghh I hate copy protection. Rant over <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Keygens fix that easily enough. I've lost my AvP2 disc though....can't find it anywhere and it's making me sad. I'll have to purchase another copy when the price drops another $10. Or copy a friend's.
  9. It sounds like you installed the Patch, I did that too. You do realize HDDs are more unstable than CD-Rs right? As soon as your HDD goes, you can say buh-bye to all your games. As for the quandry of getting copies of PS: T, and the Fallouts, I bought both of them in Dual Jewel form from Amazon like Azure about a month ago. Aside from hiccups due to me trying to install the patch for Torment, there were no problems. Torment has held up amazingly well IMO. The graphics are still fairly impressive, sprite based though they may be...Fallouts haven't aged so well, but the RPG value is still there. There's a ton of the dual jewel versions for all three games on Amazon. I don't usually buy from Ebay though, as I've gotten a scratched disc buying used from there before. Meh.
  10. Of course not, I expected them to win, I just also expected the exchange of legal jargon between the two parties to drag on for longer. Of course, this is only part one, still have to hash out the rest of the grievances, no telling how long that will take. Why isn't this on Court TV like it should be?
  11. FEDERAL JUDGE DISMISSES CLAIMS AND STRIKES ALLEGATIONS IN MARVEL LAWSUIT AGAINS NCSOFT
  12. Oh but we know what was cut and it amounts to the Dragon and about 3 random quests. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe I should change that to 'develop what they said would be in it' then hm?
  13. Thank you everyone in this thread for not using the spoiler tags, and essentially laying out the entire KotOR II plot for me. I really appreciate it.
  14. I think someone forgot thier pills today. " You know exactly what they meant Volourn. <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You're just feeding the troll...
  15. If they actually add in all that stuff that was cut (doubtful), I'll probably end up purchasing it, only after reading reviews though.
  16. ...Finger of Death is in China, even if he did want to use P2P to 'accquire' it, there's no Anti-Piracy laws in China IIRC. In fact, most the games and software on the SHELVES in China are pirated.
  17. The damn dirty ape would beat kumquatq3 down.
  18. Desert Eagle > Chimp However chimps have been known to use tools, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say a rock just ain't gonna cut it.
  19. I got word from on high (Feargie) via PM, that the forums are going to stay open (for now  ), and that he's 'trying to come up with a solution', 'which will probably involve slightly more moderator power and then a community manager in the next couple of months.' There was also the cryptic statement: "I just need to get the natives to quiet down a bit, so things stop spilling over out of the forum." Also, no one send him PMs, because unless he has some freaky module that converts every PM sent to him into an email...he lumps them into the same category as emails and thus that's what he was annoyed at.
  20. Well, Obsidian's Headquarters is located in PST, so it's only 1:16 AM here as I type this, I imagine if they're still around by oh, say, noonish tomorrow they're here to stay.
  21. I hope they stick around, I'll miss them if it's decided to close them.
