Feh, they didn't even let the hype surrounding HL2 overtake them. I haven't read one review so far I've been able to disagree with, and I've found several games I wouldn't have otherwise through them, including Scrapland, which is now one of my favorites.

I trust the reviews at Gamespot to a fair extent (though occassionally they get blown away by hype/exclusives. I trust the reviews in Computer Gaming World to a fault. They usually come out later than in the other rags, and websites. But that's because they won't sacrifice journalistic integrity for an exclusive. That takes bawls in a world where people buy your publication in order to get the first heads up on whatever. I respect them for that.

What gave it away? Yeah...by some standards I'm old, I guess. Pfft. Depp - he's fun...he's been around since the 80's too. I'd like to read a Depp-blog... One of the best actors today if I do say so myself, a regular chameleon.

Less biased opinion over here. I picked it up recently, (as in after New Years) along with the Fallout Double Pack off of Amazon. It's good...REALLY good. The graphics have held up surprisingly well (IMO) due to the near placement of the camera, much better than, say, Baldur's Gate or the Fallouts. I'm enjoying the story more than anything else though [naturally] as that's it's strongest suit. Sargy is right when he calls it an interactive novel, as that's what I came up with to best describe it. Oh, and as for previous incarnations you encounter in the game, don't forget about the one in The Private Sensorium. Maybe two really, but you only interact with one of them.

I don't know, it was on TV. Local station IIRC. I think it was Fox, while I was watching Malcolm in the Middle. So that would be Fox 40, coming out of Sacramento. Like I said, the commercial made it LOOK cool, but the commercials for Fable also made THAT game look cool. God only knows if it's actually any good.

I'm looking for a site with a decent assortment of Hellblazer TPBs at reasonable prices, namely #1 & #2. I found #1 on Amazon, and I seem to have found #2 on Amazon's UK site, but it was over 40 pounds new. Is #2 in short supply and therefore hard to find? Or am I merely looking in the wrong places because when I search with Google, it doesn't always give sequential numbers, just the title of the TPB. I know deganawida is a Hellblazer fan, and I'm sure there's others on this board. Any help given would be appreciated.

Nothing's wrong with blood, so long as it's appropriate for the setting/thing it's squirting out of. In Warrior Within, they had BLOOD squirting out of SAND monsters. There was no REASON for they to be blood, it was done just fine in Sands of Time with NO blood. In fact, I never really figured out any reason it needed to be Rated M. The combat could have been similarly revamped, with all the same moves, and kept a T rating if they left out the sexual content (Bikini Woman), Language, and massive amounts of blood spurting out of sand monsters. And sorry Jag, no link, I saw it on TV earlier. Microsoft's trying to hype it like they did Fable I presume. I really hope it doesn't have a similar feel to Warrior Within, i.e. whimsical setting with over the top content thrown in to attract the 'cool kids'.

But unfortunately, I don't think such a thing is possible. Those people's living depends on their images, and while mr Wheaton is probably working on a McDonalds now and can post whatever he feels like, I don't think you are going to find a lot of truth about that person in say, Jude Law's Blog (if such a thing exists, anyway). It's just a part of their imposture, and it should be taken with a pinch of salt. But then again, I don't really care that much for celebs. They are just flesh and bone like you and me. I usually end up playing a stealthy character. If the game gives the options, a Theif/Fighter. I like the occassional dive into The Arts though.
