It's a funny little family yes .. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indo-European_languages and Icelandic is a little strange in this sense, since it mostly very old Danish and some Norweign .. it's closer to what is called Old Norse that any of the scandinavian languages today! but it's not a unique language in any other sense!

well Icelandic is influenced by Norweigen, Danish and Swedish .. since these were the people who moved there!

yeah but the freaky thing is that they fit to what people are saying .. and since you all (swedish) originate from a Danish tribe (Heruler) then the original Danish *is* the mother of all languages! :D but then again the now Danish people is an ancient swedish tribe .. kinda wierd actualy ..

You are still labeled as some what of a nerd for playing computer .. at least here amongst the people in my generation! and even more for roleplaying .. but roleplaying is very positive influence on those I work with .. it allows them to play different people. Which helps them to develop social skills, as a big part of it involves putting yourself in others place and imagining how they think!
