I think that's a very good list .. Dr. Strangelove is especially a favorite of mine .. Peter Sellers was extraordinary in that one! :D have you seen Lars von Trier's other works? or his (rather wierd) Dogville .. or any of the Danish Dogma-films?

Memento is a great film .. I often wondered how tedious it would be to watch in "reverse" .. having the plot revealed in the beginning, or at least the basis of the plot revealed .. and on a side note (think about films going backwards) have you seen "irreversibel"?.. a french film .. best word I can find to describe it is 'brutal'! but brilliant in it's brutality .. the camera never turns away or gives you are break, during the harder parts of the movie ..

I thought I would like to hear some of your favorite movies .. or just one! We've probably seen close to a million each, but in the vast ocean of film-and-forgets there are some pearls .. I would like to recommend "Waking Life" IMDB reviews Official site A series of reviews (good and bad) .. Not a film in a classical sense, but rather a series of long monolouges to, and dialouges with, our narrator, who is caught in a dream he can't wake from .. he is presented with a lot of views on dreams, life, reality, culture etc. while he tries to understand his particular predicament. It's a revolutionary piece imho .. so rent it, buy it, see it! and now give me your favorite films, or comment on Waking Life if you've seen it ..

but that could be said about a myriad of things .. problem is that goverments can't finance everything .. and in a capitalistic world/system/country it's possible (and sometimes quite necessary) for private sectors to handle everything from medicine to garbage ..

Isn't that a bit like saying, "Once you go into shock, you no longer mind the sharp teeth chewing through your intestines"? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just heard a guy talking about how it was to drow once, he said that it felt peaceful .. and the feeling of water in his lungs made him relax .. and then everything went black! call it schock if you want, but no pain was involved .. and there's alot of pain involved in being eaten ..
-
it's actually a hard question.. burning can be faster, but not if the animal breaks your neck first it .. depends on the circumstances I think .. whatever will be quickest! (I don't care about the pain as long as it's fast) guess that makes it fire then? (assuming ants are the animals chosen to eat me) but I would prefer drowning .. I heard it should be very peaceful (once you draw the last breath of course .. alot of panicking before that)

yeah .. but I meant that most of the drugaddicts here have braindamage and act like children at times.. *gives the presidential wave* I won't be as regular as I was .. but I'll pop in from time to time.. (I can stay away for too long at the time or the hunger strikes me .. )

Well .. born without an arm and born being homosexual is two worlds apart! since homosexuality is not a handicap last I heard.. and health issues? there are just as many health issues with heterosexuals having anal sex .. although I think such issues should be adressed and public awarness raised (about health issues with anal sex in general).. nothing wrong with doing it, but take repercussions ..

What Did You Think Of The Kotor Revelation??
Rosbjerg replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Sure, you could also say that Revan is connecting with himself before the fall. In this case, he has been redeemed by the council. Still, this doesn't seem fair to me. The dark lord has been redeemed by brute force? Redemption can be the most dramatic of plot devices, but the character being redeemed without any choices of his or her own is hollow at best. Remember the satisfaction we got at redeeming Bastila at the end of the game? That was a great moment (even if more cliche than the Revan revelation). What if instead, we had used some powerful force power on Bastila to cause her to suddenly become a good jedi again? This is exactly what happens to Revan if we accept this interpretation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You seem to view personality as something absolutely firm .. Revan was programmed with a new personality, but that doesn't make the new Revan invalid .. he is still able to make independent decisions just like the old one was .. so if he chooses to go LS, or DS, it is his choice, not the councils, since you (as the player) represents his free will .. I don't understand why you think he was forced to do anything .. you made the decisions! -
What are your Ability Scores?
Rosbjerg replied to 6 Foot Invisible Rabbit's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
These kind of topics are hilarious .. but it's good to see that most people have some selfesteem, even if it means they are slightly delusional! .. hehe -
I liked it for it's "philosophical mumbo jumbo" .. which is why I think the sequals are better, they do a better job in fleshing out the universe and idea of the film .. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmm, I thought the philosohpical merits of the sequels were far inferior to the original. The first film was pregnant with inspiration, which might have been expanded upon (or not): the hints merely made you ask questions -- which is all philosophy can do, really. The sequels seemed to be-labour the point; to be underlining the same concepts without adding anything. Might as well have had an echo, for all the good the twaddling on about philosophy did -- sort of pseudo-meta-philosophy. "Do we depend on the machines, or they us?" Huh? Horsefeathers. About as valid as the conversation the "Americans" have at dinner in Monty Python's Meaning of Life. The whole matrix concept swung on the existential axis that the world was truly an illusion, a virtual world created for some sinister purpose. A perfect geek conspiracy. The sequels were just action films. And that lame Neo-as-Christ ending, puh-leeze -- it screams "I don't know how to end the story". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's funny .. people can enjoy a film that's totally crummy simply because it's acton (even crummy action) .. but it seems the same doesn't apply for crummy philosophy .. I mean sure it wasn't the deepest toxic pool in the lake, and every 6 year old child have had some of the same ideas .. but sometimes it's nice to simply turn off 90% of the active brain and feel amazed at fast paced action and pseudo philosophy .. I was able to enjoy it for what it was, no more, no less .. But I really liked "The Second Renaissance" from Animatrix .. not to deep either but beautifully made imo ..

What Did You Think Of The Kotor Revelation??
Rosbjerg replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I thought it was a good twist .. it was cliche, but it worked! I had totally ignored all the signs on the way so I was pleasantly suprised (perhaps even a bit startled) at the revelation .. It was like BG .. when you find out you are a child of Bhall, you feel a certain responsibility afterwards .. Things I missed in KOTOR: I wish they had made a bigger deal out of Malak .. I mean he was your former best friend and later pupil as a Dark Lord .. As a LS it should be a little emotional to be forced to kill him at the end! and you should've been confronted with your past crimes as Revan .. even though you were not the same person, you did wage a war against the Republic and innocents were killed because of you .. -
What music are you listening to right now?
Rosbjerg replied to draakh_kimera's topic in Way Off-Topic
I'll tjeck it out .. Haven't heard much of him.. -
alot of naked women doesn't necessarily make the story good .. and if you are only interested in the visual part of it there is a whole industry dedicated to your needs!
