  1. Can't really say we are any better on that front (DK at least).. There not one Mosque in Denmark, they get allocated to old factories and the likes.. Several attempts to build mosques have been thwarted by locals..
  2. I was more dissapointed with Bush.. USA and it's goverment had the support and sympathy of the Western world after 9/11 (probably much of the islamic world as well) and all that was sympathy was lost not 3 years later.. Bush and his administration squandered a perfect oppertunity to move towards are more united world and that's my biggest beef with him.
  3. hmmm... Does your name appear in the word ****pit? So everyday is "hug-you-day".. in essense..
  4. I think the bad seeds are only a handful, they are just loud enough to fill a block.. I live in the center of N
  5. Immigration, and how to handle it, is one of the most important political agenda here.. Denmark is a pretty rough place for immigrants I think, especially for Turks and Arabs (here used as a term for people from the Middle East) - we have a clearly racist political party with 12% support, who believes (and isn't afraid to say) that Islam is the root of all evil. A recent suvery however showed that up to 80% of immigrants are happy to live here, so maybe the media makes it seem worse. We have similar issues, with Arabs and Turks having a hard time getting jobs. This is not a problem for Asians it seems, as I've worked with considerably more east asian people than Arabs and I see several Chinese, Vietnamese etc working along Danes in many different jobs. I don't know what the reason is for this, if Danish employees won't hire someone with an arab sounding name, or some other problems are at work.. Personally the few Arabs I know are either employed and tell me that they never had a problem - or seem content not to look for jobs (and never really have) because they are convinced that they won't get any. I'm convinced that the problem is attitude for everyone involved. Personally I do think Religion is a problem in integration (every religion!) as very religious people will place their holy text above the given laws in the country they live in, which causes tensions on both sides of the fence. In my experience extremists from any religion only cause problems where they are, because they are unwilling to compromise with their veiws and demand that others respect their religion. Like Muslims demanding censoringng of free speech so it becomes illegal to critisize Islam.. which leads me to the biggest problem - In Europe, I think we are too conservatively biased on freedom of conduct and opinion - to the point that we are downright intolerant towards anyone with a different view (ironic, I know).. At the same time we have a habit of listening and responding to the radicals in a given group rather than talking to the moderates.. which means we tend to think that a given group (Muslims for instance) is as extreme as those loudest among them. Which only alienates us from them and vice versa.. there is no pleasing extremists, at least not in any way that is reasonable, so they should be ignored - because their opinions are irrelevant. - Rosbjerg
  6. They do, but they don't really understand much about it either.. the technology is at least 50-70 years ahead of them. What I mean is, I think we are free to interpret as we see fit.
  7. I came to the conclusion that it was Taweret as well (after Wiki'ing) since they have the same hat and ears .. I totally forgot about the feets, but that fits the bill too (edit: or not seeing as gifted1 found one with 5 toes).. Being a diety of fertility seems pretty appropriate though. I forgot, did Sawyer loose a toe at some point? I can't remember anymore..
  8. Any show.. from any time.. hmmmmm Watching the universe from start to finish is a good choice, but as Aram wrote; and I don't think it was a human that started the Universe (but you never know). I think I would ask to see Roger Waters/Pinkfloyd perform Dark Side of The Moon at Roskilde 06 with my buddies again..
  9. I don't know about that, but the answer to the question "what lies in the shadow of the statue?" certainly lends some thruth to the whole good vs evil. Richard says "Ille qui nos omnes servabit" which means "He who will protect us all" .. (yeah I googled it) But are they referring to Jacob? Btw, the statue was holding two Ankhs - symbolising 2 immortals on the Island?
  10. We don't want them polluting our perfectly clean ice.. send them to Alaska instead..
  11. People I've met with unfortunate names.. Tith Strange (not good when going to England/America) Randy Digger (also not so great in England) Harry Fungos (yeah.. he was from Denver) Fanny (and she had a fine one) John Knepper (American guy.. his names means "John has sex" in Danish)
  12. Time travel is the new black it seems.. at least in the shows and films I've watched recently..
  13. I saw Star Trek the other day.. I've never seen the original series, but I've watched all the films and most of The Next Generation.. I'm not a trekkie by any means, I just like the universe (like with Star Wars). I'd give the film 7/10, it's fun and it works - if you start to nitpick at the story it falls apart, but if you just go in to enjoy a good film you won't be dissapointed.
  14. First example of ingame advertising I've noticed.. It's Battlefield 2142, so that's a pretty old poster (within the setting)
  15. I made a decision to turn off my TV almost 5 years ago and I only turn it on to see special news/documentaries or films I'm interested in (which means I watch max 2 hours of TV a week). I could easily go without my mobile as well, my friends have all kinda learned that I'm not availabe 24/7 and usually just show up at my door instead of calling. The Internet and games however are my big weakness, I have a hard time doing without either for at least an hour a day.
  16. But that would also be silly I think, how would we get new names?. I only have problems with parents naming their kids after TV shows and fictional superheroes (from the last 50 years) etc. I think some of the newer names to pop up around here are quite beautiful and most have their origin in much older religions it seems, or simply natural places like Ocean, some even from other religions - Hindi names are getting more popular.
  17. I talked to a guy called Danny Ten-thousand (in danish).. that was awesome.. Right now the most used names (for newborns) are Emma (girls) and Lucas (boys), now why these people don't just call their kids Loukas or Hemma/Ermen I will never understand.. they are simply destroying these old names! Names change and that's how it is.. I bet your own name is a abrevation of an even older one.
  18. Don't worry - It's a joke site..
  19. I've get a sneaking suspicion that Locke isn't really in charge and that everyone one of those hostile redshirts are gonna meet an untimely end.. Best part of the episode was the little word play between Hurley and Dr. Chang..
  20. I had pretty funny gaming session this weekend - which was intended to be over the top.. We were 6 guys playing and the GM wanted us to make highlevel extraordinary (within the Forgotten Realms), evil and fanatical characters.. I was a warforge blackuard and I was accompanied by a warforge Artificer, a Fallen Aasimar spellweaver (they made up the class, he could tap directly into the weave), a Wind Genasi shadowdancer and pure crystal form Psionic warrior. And then we set out to do wierd stuff in the name of our God Cyric.. The funniest thing happened when we entered a cave and started searching for some artifacts, I was the only one who didn't have darkvision, so I was totally blind for the duration - I had the ability to transfrom myself via a cloak of alteration, so I changed my self into a cat and sat on the shoulder of the crystal guy.. We stumbled across an Elder Earth Elemental who started beating us, when I got an idea - as things were looking grim I asked the guy I was sitting on to throw me at the elemental, he grapped me (still in catform) and threw me with all his strength at the elemental - moments before I struck it, I changed back into my original form and being a 3000 pound warforge I went right through it and scored a critical, which killed it.. Most epic slaying I've ever done!
  21. Indeed.. I wonder if Rambo might've been based on that guy..
  22. Richard must be pretty annoyed with people just walking in to his camp and pretend like they known him.. It's been happening for over 50 years now..
  23. It's almost scary how much the average American knows about drugs too... Seems like you all have a minor degree in pharmaceuticals
  24. Yes, I believe I do..
  25. Yeah that's right.. I don't have the time to join and train with a clan - I was hoping that some game or some server (that any of you knew of) had a better team spirit. I actually played that alot once, but I'm looking for something on a bigger scale than just 4-8 players.
