I wouldn't say there is a single problem, but what opinion someone has of the game has become a shibboleth by which to malign or exalt someone. EA/Dice have decided to partake in this and as part of their marketing campaign and are currently doubling down. So preparing for a flop is just their way of not making things worse by wagging a finger at those who they have support from. But basically there is a messy conflict being made between people who want the series to keep a historic tone, and those who want a WW2 theme-park game that represents of 21st century demographics. Where the former group is made out to be against woman & minorities, and the later is made out to be revisionist history identity politics people. I guess there is a secondary argument over whether having unrealistic gameplay justifies taking an unhistorical tone or not. Pre-orders might also be low due to the Battlefront 2 and Andromeda **** shows, but the above is certainly contributing.

EA wins because every time they lose money, the people that make money can invest in them and displace previous investors. Since EA owns their assets that allow them to generate value, the entity will always win but people and products around it will win or loose. Which is why praising the institutions ability to survive is misplaced praise.

Only the Sith deal in absolutes.

201X: "Did you just assume their gender?" - People who said this seriously. 201Y: "Did you just assume their gender?" - People mocking the former. 201Z: "Did you just assume their gender?" - People making light of the phrase, yet are committed progressives. (CDPR) "Ugh, us progressive do not act that way!" - People who aren't being mocked, but act grieved when their allies have a sense of humor.

Even unpainted the minis look like they came from a cheap mold. Not that I'm complaining, I didn't order these. But I know I wouldn't buy those as individual purchases unless they went a buck a piece. I know the figure industry has some pretty rigorous QA and the result is $100 limited edition runs. I'd like to see Obsidian actually offer something substantive like that.

Man, why do all these "-souls" clones look so borish. Yeesh. also, Bannerlord looks like a truly progressive contribution to the gameplay canon.

Crimes can be multifaceted and charges are atomized in order to compose a verdict.

Looks more like Ardyn and Noctis did a fusion dance.

Which games have aged well in your opinion?
injurai replied to Katphood's topic in Computer and Console
Age of Mythology and Age of Empires 3. I actually think II has aged a bit, especially with unit movement and pathing. But those later games still scratch the itch seeing as the IP died shortly thereafter. -
I would teach privately at a lower salary if I had earned my knowledge through industry and don't want to pay out of pocket or take out loans to get the proper accreditation. Especially if the whole point of teaching privately is to basically semi-retire and have an easier job coming from a high-payed industry one. I think such a move works best if you're in a STEM field and move into being a private STEM teacher. Hell, you'd probably be more qualified than many of the teachers that many schools end up cantilevering into STEM programs. Hurlshot is right though, most private schools have a heavy religious base and tend to subvert many of the canonical subjects.

If true, we'll just have to kickstart a hostile acquisition of Microsoft.

This is a better fantasy to the fantasy.

Scorpion shotguns? Rip and mother****ing tear!

Acquiring Obsidian means acquiring any outstanding contracts, so it's still being published by Take-Two. If Obsidian owns The Outer Worlds though, then Microsoft could self-publish the IP going forward. I know Obsidian registered the trademarks, but depending on contracts that doesn't mean they own that IP outright. I'd imagine they don't.

The criticism was towards PragerU not towards Rubin's musings on leftist failings. I've seen enough Rubin to know where he is weak in his articulations, and I know Prager wants sound bites that will land blows against liberalism / the left / progressives / etc. Rubin's friends largely are able to articulate those distinctions while he himself often cannot. Which is why it's painfully obvious how Rubin's message is concerted by Prager's motives. They are that very ill-liberal conservative platform that erodes civil liberties and rights under a guise. Glad you could get your rant in though.

The Weird, Random or Interesting Things That Fit Nowhere Else Thread

Wanting a star or not is such a consolation prize in the grand scheme of life. -
If the Dems end up recreating the 2016 GOP circus of nobody dropping out late into the 11th hour of the primaries, then they in some manner deserve a second loss for shear ineptitude. I don't think the smoke will ever clear from hardline Clinton supporters, but hopeful they and their haze will fade into a background dominated by new and more popular actors.

I'm thinking Sanders will run, but we may see him drop out if there is another non-establishment favorite. At any case, his endorsement will be huge come 2020. If he is still the leading candidate I personally want to see a Sanders/Gabbard ticket. If Sanders only takes one term then when can get Tulsi Gabbard in in 2024.

lol, Rockstar is a treasure

In RDR it was pretty obvious the civilized folk weren't any better from the countrystead. If you played honorably you lived in the margins of society but essentially was the good guy. I guess it helps since in that game your literally an informant turning over a new leaf. I think there is opportunity for morals in RDR2 though.

If they sell only after MCA's equity has been entirely cashed out, there is going to be some major salt to behold. This is for sure.

PragerU is about unscrupulous of a conservative platform as you can get. It's not hard to criticize a non-negligible segment of the left. Prager is simply a disingenuous platform that has no intellectual output of it's own. I can't believe Peterson and Rubin did a bits for them, it's like all they want are easy cohorts or something.

I like the color, but I'd bet they'd run out before I could nab one.
