Muse ~ Knights Of Cydonia
Turning off the volume almost makes this video bareable. Almost, except that the twerpish lead singer refuses to allow you to complete the illusion that you might be listening to any number of a hundreds of band artistically inept enought to create this song by interjecting himself into the video every :45 seconds or so. The video borrows from several old movies and actually challenges the viewer to endure the song repeatively to find all of its references, truely a insidious ploy perpetrated opon the insanely stupid. The music too is a knockoff of many movie score of the late 70s and 80s, but actually manages to convey less meaning. The song is not totally with out merit, for it enlist the listen to ask themselves an important question. What could possibly convince this group of brits that cutting and pasting from movie scores whos only value is a novel one at best, would garner any type of artist merit?
