Top Ten @ Obsidian
Matt Cavotta, the dude that's part of the art handling of MtG (he's an artist himself) said that constraints can promote creativity as the artist is given focus. He was commenting on the process where artists are given a description of the card and what they wanted the art to look like in general (say picture of an angel bound in chains). I'm guessing there's a kind of parallel in storytelling.

John Cleese on soccer vs. american football
It certainly adds excitement if you know what good play is and appreciate it when it happens or when it doesn't work out. Therefore I think you're just going to enjoy sports where you've had experience in more than others which you don't.

John Cleese on soccer vs. american football
I scored a goal once as a keeper in indoor soccer. Their keeper was off their line so I drop kicked the ball into their open net. Was a beauty - flew straight as an arrow.

Vampire: Bloodlines.
The memory issue really made me feel reluctant to continue playing the game, especially when it kept repeating itself. If I didn't find the quicksave/quickload trick I would have quit, which is unfortunate. If there's something that would make players not want to continue playing I think it should be very significant in the game's overall rating.

Vampire: Bloodlines.
If they fixed the memory overflow issue I'd seriously bump my rating of this game from 8.5 to 9.5. That's what's holding it back.

The Malkavians are a riot.

Crying Habits
The scene in the book was ok but the way it came out in the movies - with the hobbits cavorting on the bed just reinforced the lurking theme.

I think eventually the Dutch will suffer from Stam's absence when it comes to the later rounds.

2006 FIFA World Cup
(tubby) Ronaldo can still take player on 1-1 but not 2 or 3 of them anymore. I don't know why Hiddink took Cahill off when he brought Kewell on. Maybe he was saving his key players (Bresciano, Kewell, Aloisi on the bench wtf) for Croatia.

A tidbit about Project Georgia
There could well be, but I don't think it would have the cultured, polished feel to it. The decadance that almost defines vampire culture through the ages. Maybe it could work in a modern cyber punk future with underground raves but I'm doubting the dusty blown out, people in rags setting. The closest I can imagine them taking over old metropolises and living in the skyscrapers etc.

Ok I'm going to go against the trend and disagree with you (wtf). I think vampires need to be cool like in Bloodlines with their secret society and political intrigue, rad nightclubs and mansions, music etc. Vampires hanging out in blown out tin cans and rusty sheds, preying on people sitting around a campfire in the dessert just ain't going to cut it.

I can't ****ing believe Japan. Nobody has the balls to take a soild crack at goal. Instead, they try to lovetap it around and pass into the goal. I'm bitterly disappointed.

Maybe. It could be a way of exploring/fleshing out other NPCs in ways that would be difficult if everything was handled in the present. For example you could find out why you're enemies with your former best friend etc. Your current enemy wouldn't need to explain the backstory (you should know it) and you could interact accordingly. Edit: Of course the extension of that players with visions of the future could play sequences in the future and let that influence their choices when they're back in the present (Dr. Grout?).

I'm not sure how flashbacks have been handled in games. The story could be in a modern setting but the player could play mini flashback games as appropriate. It could be confusing but seeing how movies and books can do well I think the players wouldn't be unduly averse to it.
