  1. That could be quite an epic series of games. There'd be continuity issues though like in KOTOR 1-2 depending on player choices. I hope Obsidian gives it a whirl sometime. I think many devs would relish the freedom that a M rated game would give them. How did Bloodlines sell anyway?
  2. The fem Malk's outfits are so awesome. We need more good vamp games. I'd like to see a through-the-ages thing too.
  3. Sounds like the GM's a copout. Just because the players don't want to play it the GM's way s/he screws them. I think in live roleplaying the GM needs to be as flexible as the players are. If they go in expecting some predefined campaign where the players can't act outside certain parameters then they should make a game mod. Having said that, these kind of things go both ways. My way or the highway.
  4. Ok, Ghana beating the Czechs would be the first upset of this World Cup in my books. Also my Italy got held by the US
  5. While I was watching football the channel advertised that Shallow Hal'd be on tv later that night and it started me thinking. If everyone had permanent beauty filters how'd people treat each other differently? Maybe on average they'd (fake?) better behaviour to each other. Maybe people wouldn't tolerate bitchy people anymore since there's no longer a reason to. Petty social powerplaly cliques within schools and in adult life would be a thing of the past. Probably everyone would have better self cofidence and be freer to express themselves. The stereotype of PnP and Mtg players being geek losers would be a thing of the past (ignoring the reality for the moment). However, people would lose their motivation for vanity exercise and by definition put most gyms out of business. Would human relations (not just sex) be better off? Might be a fair tradeoff.
  6. Netherlands and England have been below par so far I think. Netherlands in the back and England in the front. I feel if they meet a team that's really good like Spain or Argentina they'll be outclassed.
  7. So how'd you like it and should I get it? I've never played Rise of Nations and I'm pretty interested in the flavour aspect of Legends.
  8. I'd look forward to a press conference when you get back from finishing a mission. Mayor: Good job on retrieving the thingy and saving the town! Spider: What're your comments on reports that 50 civs were killed as you tried to "save" them? As they were running away? Mayor: IS THIS TRUE??! Player: I don't know what you're talking about. Spider: We have an eye witness account from one of the victims right here. Player: I've never seen her before. Spider: We have pics here from the internets of you ransacking the burnt remains of the town. Do you make it your policy to pillage the people that you're supposed to protect? Player: I was just collecting the valuables... for a fund to rebuild the town! Mayor: I'm sure <player name> will be only be too happy to donate his reward to the town rebuilding scheme. Player:
  9. SnM didn't do much wrong early on. The Argentinians can create well (like the Spanish) and have superb finishing. Their defence looks solid too.
  10. Do they do humans too? Oh snap....
  11. I think TNO's story is over. The story of the Planescape universe isn't.
  12. It doesn't need to be an escort mission or a war zone. I was thinking of a fight breaking out in the middle of a civilian setting. The opening scene between Irenicus and the player's group in the Amn market would have been it, if only it was more central etc. Irenicus (badass as he is) would be throwing horrid wiltings around while the player might be hesitant to throw area of effect spells around, depending on their playstyle. Ultimately the civilans themselves have no impact - none of them are essential NPCs though how you handle the situation would affect how the town or the guards interact with the player from then on. Btw, the "suggest to kid that her mom's looking for her", getting the kid out of your face and taking down an exploding zombie would make an awesome evil path.
  13. Maybe this thread would be better in the PnP forum. I just like makign twisted campaigns. Here's another one of my ideas: The team has to solve a prob where the town's under attack from a necromancer (female) that abducts people and sends them in as reanimated zombies that explode - kind of like suicide bombers. The way to fight them is probably shooting them from far so they don't blow up right in front of you. Then in one case a kid runs up to the players and says "DON'T KILL MY MOMMY" so the player has to kind fo like tell the kid that it ain't her mom anymore etc, that sometimes you have to sacrifice for the greater good blah blah. If you don't stop them (take the pascifist route) the kid will run (arms open) to hug her 'mommy' (also open arms - zombie style in a heartwarming/wrenching scene) and get blown to bits in front of the player. I'd be sure to describe the heartwarming smile as she and her mommy embrace each other as they vanish in a blinding explosion to be united (after all) on the afterlife. Maybe I'll mention something about the player not being sure if you saw the zombie mom smile too as they were embracing.
  14. Would/should it be feasible to consider moral issues in games, for example going out of your way to prevent civilian casualties? Say you're spell slinging with the bad guy in town and there are people around (probably getting out of the way if they're smart) - should the player be careful or hold off fire just to avoid civilian casualties? If the player does nail some people (or even if s/he doesn't but just by being there they drew out the villain who started firing) people would bitch about it and maybe even be hostile to the character (won't trade etc). If so I hope it goes both ways. Say the player let the enemy get away or held on the "none of my business" or "violence breeds violence" route and the enemy came back and set up a device that devoured the town's souls or somethig. Would you (player or dev) be interested in exploring such themes?
  15. pixies wins.
  16. It wasn't very harsh Atreides, It wasn't penalty, but if he decide the penalty he had to show the red card to the ukranian player, the rules are the rules <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's the thing. It seems like the rules are down to the interpretation to the referee and are applied inconsistantly. Refs have let players that tug on jerseys/pants like that go unpunished all the time and suddenly in this case the player's punished. In the CL that was a clear penalty as it was going to get - Lehman (last man etc) bringing down the player from a clear attacking chance and for the rest of the game the commentators and people were bitching about how the ref should have exercised his "judgement" and not "spoilt" the game. It would be better if players and the audience knew for sure what the consequences of actions are so they don't waste time arguing about the application of the law.
  17. Exactly. WW may have canned V:The Masquerade but it lives on in V: The Requiem. I get the impression that things got too cluttered and they wanted to simplify things. I flipped through some of their game books and the flavour is very rich. As such I don't think another Vampire game would be poor at all.
  18. Tip: Swarm curse on cranial rats ftw.
  19. Drop the effects that obscure the quality of the original pic. It's easier to see from a distance/quick glance if it's sharp.
  20. Was that some kinda Easter Egg bonus level?
  21. I blame Eureka Seven. Probably only Kiro-chan knows what I'm talking about.
  22. Ok, say we're on a mission and we call each other by our code names based on characters of a theme. For example the theme could be Alice in Wonderland and we'd pick codenames that we'd like (suits your personality or you think it's cool etc) based on its characters. Plus add something why you picked it (so this doesn't become a "word association" thing). I'll go first. I'd pick Red Queen because that's what Holland from Eureka Seven picked. First post on the new page gets to change/suggest a new theme. Also you have to choose something that hasn't already been taken (team members and all that).
  23. I was eating a few mandarin oranges over coffee at 2am.
  24. Maybe they're trying to corner the MMOG audience before others do.
