  1. Didn't Obsidian get the rights to IWD?
  2. Pepper spray is fine too.
  3. Well maybe something about living on land that's created by fault lines has something to do with the locations. I can't even begin to imagine how to prevent or avert earthquakes. The focus of most stuff on Extreme Engineering's been about building stuff that can withstand reasonabe weather and quakes.
  4. If they do create smething it'll be despite the antics of these nuts.
  5. Something still sounds fishy. DD's been touted as a way around the publisher, because the dev only gets a tiny % of it. So if they go DD they get a larger cut, hence less units needed to be sold. So if they still need to get money from someone they'll still need to head to an investor, which brings back the publisher cut issue. Still sounds like the publisher problem.
  6. Natural selection... with guns.
  7. You know you've got too much free time when
  8. It's less risky because you don't need to sell as many copies in order to see a return on your investment. Even with an outside investor. A game doesn't need to be a smash hit AAA title to make profit. Yes, you will get some developers/publishers that will only be interested in going for games that they think will sell the most, but it doesn't have to be that way. That sounds more like a difference in funding source issue. The problem with the publishers seemed like they were breaking the developer's balls over cuts. The arrangement you're suggesting sounds like the company's borrowing money and promissing to repay them at the end. Different funding sources and cuts, but you've yet to convince me it's less risky.
  9. I should have added it's by PC World. Starforce didn't make the top 25 though.
  10. Read this on Yahoo News and thought it's funny. Number 1 on the list
  11. Assuming the game designers can front a few million, there's still nothing making the project less risky.
  12. D-D-D-DRIFTING
  13. Sounds reasonable. Insider trading anyone?
  14. Try IrfanView. It resizes without too much pixelation.
  15. If you reload 5 times in a row Irenicus and a few Liches appear in the loaded scene and fun ensues.
  16. Tiramissu, oh yeah!
  17. You're not wasting your time optimally?
  18. How's the venture become less risky for the investor?
  19. You're analyzing each part seperately, but not as a whole.
  20. Or necromancer.
  21. The campaign'll probably be deeper if we get to explore the complexity within each group. The different faces of Good (within Good town) etc. I think it's an interesting way to explore allignment.
  22. This is from Eldar from a locked thread. There should totally be a campaign where this happens. Maybe we could set up 3 towns/cities where everything goes according to Allignment Rules. Crazy ass evil town, Super diddly do Good town and Neutral town. Players interact with them, maybe starting/solving conflicts etc. A nod to Allignment craziness that ****s with your mind. NWN2 toolkit anyone?
  23. That's funny because I'm chuckling over the irony of your post. Anyway I think the devs should try disabling KOTOR-deaths (as an option) and see whether the game breaks. If it takes too much time to fix or isn't viable at this point (story hard coded in) then I guess that's that. I'd rather not have the game break or have tons of bugs crop up at this point.
  24. This reminds me of the Onion piece where the dude keeps getting reloaded to keep dying.
