too late for that. I would have to place the workshop in a corner, which kinda defeats the purpose. I guess I'll just buy an engineer every month.

What gremlins. You can use your hacker's drone in the base ?

I've been putting off upgrading most things in favor of excavating the base and building one of every facility two pips remaining in the doom ticker which I hope will be enough to make contact and eliminate another base. Dunno what I'll do when I run out of power but it looks like you get power bonuses on the campaign map for setting up cells covering a whole continent so that will be my strategy.

I play rangers more or less like a rogue in an RPG. backstabbing PSI casters, that kind of thing. Other than that I rely largely on snipers. Probably because all the other squaddies i had in the beginning died and the snipers survived and got to high levels.

Surely we have learned by now not to get excited about scores. Anyway it's good. With that out of the way, back to talking about everything that's wrong with it.

Scanning stopped working. Or rather the timer for an event just goes to 0 and then -1 and so on and nothing happens. Anyone else get this ?

You go to ground somewhere ?. The cities are still populated by humans. It's the principle of cutting away the apex of the curve that bothers me. A counter reaching zero is pretty anti climatic once it's done.

Getting a lot of stutter in between missions flying back and forth in the transport for some reason. In mission it's fine so far.

Yeah, I just can't help feeling short changed. So we are counting down to something dangerous. Show me the danger. Spawn an extremely hard enemy squad that you would rarely escape from without casualties and a new extraction point. That would have been so easy to do. They could have used that in the story as well to build up an enemy boss that you would have to face sooner or later for instance.

is that one of the missions within advent city centers where Central command tells you during the mission that interceptors are inbound fast and you need to extract within the time window or the mission is a bust because your small bird will be blown out? Ok so the skyranger is shot down and you are caugth in the city trying to escape, that sounds like the best part of mission. When you end a mission prematurely because of a gameplay feature, in this case the timer, that's just bad design. Specifically when there is a disconnect and it doesn't feel like it should end. It's like when you have to reload a babysitting mission because the target died, or the stealth missions in Ascreed where you 'die' when you are discovered. No, no no. Those things are results that you (game designers) were to lazy to show me.

Lost a whole squad because I missed the arbitrary time limit one tile from the extraction zone. That's just stupid. No explanation given other than 'you ran out of time'.

Manual saves are updated to include soldier deaths, not complaining just, what's the point of having manual saves if that's the case. At least there appears to be a lot of autosaves to fall back on. It looks gorgeous.

Took the plunge and pre-loaded the whole 25 gigs, now it's updating 25 gigs. In fact it's taking longer. As if anyone needed evidence that there is no point to preordering other than sales.
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mZWs5loEn0 Last season kinda got boring, lets see if they can pick it up again.

It's in the DLC pack description. You get some EW war 'survivors'. They don't actually import from EW, they are just high level operatives you can customise. That's what I think anyway.
  16. Gorgon replied to NOK222's topic in Computer and Console
A shame you can't import a few sqaddies from EW. They made that a DLC. Cheap bastards.

We'll see. I like to have a few real world reports before I spend money. Real people, not reviewers and game sites.
  18. I see a problem with that but not a new one. Say it's just a random doodle that anyone could do in parallel with no intent to imitate, I'm thinking of Tyson's face tatoo, So I guess they would be like company logos, a twist or two in some of the letters and you have something trademarkable. I mean the Nike logo is just a doodle thicker in the middle, apparenly that's all it takes. Maybe this is why so many people have a random assortment of enspiring quotes written on them like the movie momento. I mean If they were that profound surely you would be able to remember.
  19. Remember the good old days when you would have a single player game with seperate multiplayer functionality and server browsers because that was expected. Now it's predominantly either one thing or the other, or wedging multiplayer into single player in an aggrevatingly bad fit.
  20. I'm kinda glad we never let them into the EU. Historical denial is a dangerous thing and it's ripe in Turkey, for the Kurds and even for the Armenians 100 years ago.
  21. There's a girl wearing the full sith lord all black muslim garb at my office. I gotta say I think it looks silly, but she makes a big effort to fit in and she makes killer cakes and cookies. Apropos of nothing
  22. Clearly he should be stoking the fire for the upcomming race war on national TV.
  23. There were hints along the way but it got decidedly warmer and warmer towards the announcement until people had more or less made up their minds that it was being made. At that point the jig was up. The first big leak was a spoof, remember. Well in retrospect it wasn't, but that's what everyone thought.
  24. There's another thing. FO4 was leaked before they were ready to make an announcement and/or the leaking pushed the announcement so they had to start polishing before everything was fleshed out. I believe cut content and dialogue has been dug out of the game files as well. So it could be 'Not enough time'.
