    well...

Humans should live to be around 260, that would be enough time to suck in the experience without being rushed.
  2. I have moderated my position on capital punishment. A little. But this guy attempted to murder somone earlier in his life and was sentenced to 30 years in prision. He was let out early and what was the first thing he did? Murder someone. It seems if the prisons are just going to let these vermin go, excecuting them is the only way to keep us safe. I'll abandon my support for capital punishment the day the US adopts truth in sentencing laws. If you draw a 30 year sentence, you spend 30 years in prison. If you get life, you leave the prision in a body bag. Plus US prisions are far too nice. They have air conditioning, cable TV, libraries, etc. If they were more like the one in The Count of Monte Cristo then I would say we don't need the death penalty. You can argue that capital punishment is not effective but I do not see how. This guy got a 30 year sentence and murdered someone later. If he is exceuted for this he will not be killing anyone else will he? It is possible to sentence someone to life without parole, that means they will not be eligable to come before the parole board. Barring pardon, they are there for the duration.
  3. Here we go again arguing for the death penalty using one of these spectacular headline acts of violence. It deosen't become any more intelligent with repetition. Legistation affecting everyone and emotional and shock appeal headlines do not mix.
  4. They assassinated him years ago, but, it would be detrimental to strategic goals to release the information.
  5. **** I stepped on my glasses, again. Now I can't see well enough to write
  6. I guess it's the glass being half full kinda thing, looking around at the world and going 'wow how amazing, god must have created that'. Thats fine and all, but it's not an actual argument, it's emotion.
  7. The only reason this discussion even exists is as a kindness to the biblical screwballs. Had it been anything other than established religion proposing that the world was created mere thousands of years ago, ruling out dinosaurs among other things, no one would ever have wasted their breath discussing it.
  8. Paganism has a lot of flavor, I mean, human sacrifice, giant wickermen barbecues. The hippies gave it a bad name, but that ain't the fault of the religion. Naturalistic religions aren't more ridiculous than believing god made Adam out of one of his ribs, while were on the subject of BBQ
  9. The ancient chalk drawing has a boner. I can't seem to summon any indignation.
  10. It's like capitalism gone wrong No, it's Capitalism undiluted and unregulated. Ironically exactly what the whole concept of Comunism is supposed to be the cure for.
  11. This looks like a lot of work, what am i getting paid exactly ?
  12. Nah, they're both elitist. The rabble doesen't have any say whatsoever. At one point, when they came to power the rabble helped put them there, after that they could tow the line or wind up in the death camps/gulags.
  13. Every year the Nazis band together for the Rudolph Hess march, I think he was the rather slow witted right hand of Hitler, and every year the extreme left wingers show up to throw bricks at them. It's a blast to watch, unless it's were you live.
  14. Does this board have a storage function ?. Wondering why ppl are using attached files instead of direct links to images.
  15. Thats apples and oranges. Illustrator is for vector graphics and those can be very useful indeed, master the vector tools and you will be able to make geometry fast and effectively, photoshop is more pixel based, not really designed to be a painting tool as much as an editing tool, but it can be used for it well nevertheless. The painter series was designed from the ground up to be a painting tool and it has some strengths, but is also unfortunately rather klunky and counter intuitive menu and featurewize. When I get home ill post some photoshop stuff i've done.
  16. I used to have seizues in my sleep and would wake up in the middle of the night paralysed feeling like someone stuck a live wire in my ear frying my brain. Let me tell you, it ain't pleasant. Every time it happenes you wonder if this is the one that kills you. Fortunately I would not trigger them while awake, and even more fortunate that it passed in my early 20s. Things like stress and lack of sleep would set it off. I haven't had one in over a decade now. That thing with biting the tounge only happens extremely rarely. The medical advice now is just to make the person comfortable and watch over him/her untill it passes. Definately don't try to pry something into the mouth like you see in the movies.
  17. It's not that they don't derserve death, they certainly do, it's that society should be better than the criminals it punishes. Personally I think mine clearing duty with a stick in Bosnia might be too kind, but, everytime we find one of these extreme cases and use it as an argument for the death penalty it's misleading, only the smallest part of the people executed around the world are mindless sadists.
  18. Whats so positive about a glass that is half full.
  19. Isen't it more or less custom that presidents pardon their shady buddies when they are runninh out of time in the whitehouse ?
  20. I'm not sure I'd like to drive a car that went from 0-60 in 4 days. If you run an engine designed for bio fuel it's every bit as fast as gasoline. If you run bio on an existing diesel it has slightly worse milage but the same performance as diesel. The only reason we are still using gas is that it's cheaper, and engines designed for bio don't sell very well.
  21. Clintons lie about sexual relations was of no consequence whatsoever. Maybe it doesen't matter to the law what you lie about, but it does to most people when they think rationally about it.
  22. They found a few duds on a site that had already been visited by the inspectors. If you want to elevate that to a find of WMD you are really pushing the boundaries of interpretation. I don't think most people's ideas of gas grenades are that they are weapons of mass destruction, they are area denial weapons, albeit prohibited by international treaties.
