  1. The Forbidden Kingdom - 2.5 stars out of 5 Watchable youth kungfu fantasy, but not what I was expecting at all. Action scenes fun, but the plot was like a cross between The Last StarFighter and Karate Kid. Would have been quite good if they had axed Karate Kid. Jackie Chan's still got the drunken style down pat.
  2. Roy Ayers, Parliament, James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, Isley Brothers, The Gap Band, Bob James. Having a bit of a soul and P funk retrospective while I'm supposed to be studying.
  3. It's tradition, in reality they all have summer homes in Normandy.
  4. The NWN2 engine sure as hell ain't that. Good riddance.
  5. I don't suppose you can make actual arguments as opposed to pointless juxtapositions as well... hmm.. I find the nature of Capitalism to be poignant to the matter at hand. Some people get the distinction confused and what they really mean to say is 'Something akin to western democratic countries with dominant market economies'. That is to say, it is assumed that companies won't harm or outright kill consumers to make a profit.
  6. It would be interesting to have Minsc and Viconia in your party again, the Bhallspawn shtick is pretty worn though. I suppose they could call it BG3 and have it be something else, with a few cameos and easter eggs to commemorate the past games. I wouldn't want a PST 2 to continue the story either. It would be to revisit the NPCs and the setting.
  7. I dunno, it can be both fun and challenging to play through an encounter with other players, the main problem is that there are so many anti- socials populating MMOS.
  8. It's a bit naive to just expect businesses to behave with a modicum of responsibility, plenty of examples to the contrary. Capitalism is not a self correcting equation that will solve all of society's ills. It's more like a force of nature.
  9. No we should just give everyone grenades, it would be like the community policing equivalent of M.A.D
  10. I dunno, they are small tight knit groups. 'Mafia' is probably what they want to be rather than what they are in reality.
  11. Yes there are HA here, in fact the 'great Nordic biker war' between Banditos and HA, was one of the most bloody turf wars they have fought yet. Including things like firing bazookas into enemy strongholds. We stockpile these things in case the Russians invade, apparently padlocks were thought to be sufficient to keep people from stealing them.
  12. Whats in the enhanced edition, is it worth paying a third more if you could get the euro version cheap.
  13. Yes, but wasn't his problem prostitution and drug selling on the street corners, as opposed to gangland shootings threatening civilians.
  14. Apparently I'm in the middle of a gang war, if I'm to take the papers seriously. The local Hells Angels are shooting it out with various 'immigrant mafia' types for control of the illegal drugs market. There have been a few shootings in broad daylight, and now of course it's the cause de jour for any self respecting politician is to be tougher than everyone else on these gang elements. Along with the usual cries to throw them out of the country, that would be the immigrants, who always pay out good political capital when you kick them in the shin, are calls for more 'visible police' on the street. Now here is my question, why does anyone think that it's at all feasible to have the police act as bodyguards for the entire city by driving around in the streets, as opposed to working cases. Policing is 99% after the fact, the protection they provide is one of deterrence, unless they are lucky enough to have advance notice, as in a large demonstration or footie match. Does anyone really buy this stuff, are people really that stupid.
  15. Somehow I don't think either would make especially good presidents. Anyway when are the last bunch coming
  16. Boooooooooooooooooooorrring
  17. It's got a really faint taste and smell to it that is just indescribably disgusting, unless you start drinking it, then you cease to notice it and it becomes yummy. A bit like smokes I guess. I drink at least a liter a day. Good way to get calcium, as long as it's not the very fatty milk.
  18. Yes, it's very easy to debate somebody else's point when you take fragments of what they say out of context, and then misrepresent This is what everyone, without exception, does in a forum discussion. A good rule of thumb is that your most valid points will go unanswered and your weakest will be attacked mercilessly
  19. Chinese Google. I wonder what it comes up with if you type in Dalai Lama. Probably a Belgian maple syrup or something. Yes by all means make the guilty disappear. Did you know this isn't even the first time this has happened. Although before the milk powder just had no nutritional value so the babies would starve to death.
  20. I think he meant the guns the other guys have. But I guess if everyone knows private security firms are a joke that makes it safer on everyone. Criminals and security alike. One job that really is dangerous is doorman at a club. Of all the angry drugged up people that have to be rejected in a night, odds are pretty good a few of them are going to go at the doormen, whether to impress their friends or because they just aren't wired right.
  21. Hey while you are here Hurlshot, what was the name of that games subscription site with a limited free content. I had to do a reinstall after my older comp bit the dust.
  22. Well how about that. I never actually tried it, but that's because I like rooting through shelves in stores. That way I get exposed to stuff I wouldn't otherwise.
