  1. I suppose that would release federal discretionary funds, like a natural disaster.
  2. That's like saying Left 4 Dead on the 360 and PS3 is the same game as on the PC. What's different about them? If anything it probably works better on Xbox because the aim helping mechanism all but ruins aiming on the PC. You have to crank up the mouse speed and acceleration so much you wind up constantly dancing around in circles, or settle for making huge spastic motions to fine tune your aim. I can only suppose this feature is so deep in the engine they didn't know how to remove it for PC. Or they just didn't care.
  3. I reiterate : Motorcycle.
  4. I've not been hospitalized since I fell down a flight of stairs when I was 8, so I suppose it has been a really bad quid pro quo for all the taxes I have spent. I'm glad the safety net is there though. As opposed to having to trust a health ensurer who spends a lot of time and effort finding loopholes and reasons to deny claims.
  5. Macs don't suck, quite the opposite. They are just way too expensive for what you get.
  6. Private operators in a public health care system can help improve the overall efficiency of the system, as long as continuous care is taken in defining their role. In Denmark treatments are guaranteed by law, and if the public system can't cope the government has to pay for private treatment, this includes in theory treatment overseas. In the US a system of public hospitals in direct competition with private hospitals does not seem possible. Too much ideology to overcome, and even if it was government lacks the strength to kick the private operators back in place when needed.
  7. Go Socialism, America ain't worth preserving as it is.
  8. When considering what makes most people think macs are better I think we are definitely in psychological and intangible territory. It's brand reputation, not actual performance. The same reason coca colas cost more than no name lemonade. Apple very successfully appeals to the same segment who buys designer furniture. The cheaper laptops are designed to 'get em while they're young', and they can get away with it because the laptop market is confusing to begin with.
  9. Yeah I have a friend who paid close to 25000 Dkk for a top of the line mac laptop, and it's not like he is made of money or anything. I just can't fathom why people are willing to pay that much more for a few extra bells and whistles and a nice design scheme. It's a computer, not a new kitchen or a car.
  10. What evidence, old bits and parts of a non functioning enrichment facility appearing here and there. But, I suppose in debunking the prewar scaremongering one can lose track of the fact that Sadam unquestionably would have developed whatever weapons he could to gain an advantage had he not been constantly pressured and threatened not to.
  11. Can you update from the old one. I'm not sure I have enough contiguous free space without defragmenting first. Old 750 gig hd, lots and lots of clutter on it.
  12. Bethesda being Bethesda I don't think we are going to get much in the way of New Reno sleaze. A bit funny how blowing someone's head open like a ripe melon in slow mo is fine, but too much skin is a definite no-no.
  13. The Bush administration did a number on Hans Blix, attempting to make him appear incompetent and naive, no different that what happens in an election. Fortunately it mostly backfired and Blix was able to respond later after he retired.
  14. I applaud his courage, or utter lack of shame.
  15. If you had automanage on the AI would build loads of largely useless city watch units to compensate for low public order which would drain your treasury. If you clicked off auto recruitment they would rebel just as often which kinda defeated the purpose of auto management.
  16. In Rome and TW2 settlements needed a lot more attention than in Empires, In Rome you practically had to park a full stack next to certain regions and massacre the population ever 5 turns or so to keep them in line. I refrained from building walls in my furthest colonies for that very reason. I prefer the Empires way where there are almost always effective non military countermeasures to rebellion.
  17. I am just a regular mortal student in this scenario.
  18. Aren't the testers given very specific jobs. I bet no one thought making judgments on the overall feel of character progression was worth their time.
  19. The 'professional juror' system has some advantages. It really cuts down on Johnny Cochran type shenanigans that aren't based in law. There is no use for Jury profilers or other pseudo science wizards who can supposedly tell you who is going to vote for what and whether wearing a red tie to court is a good idea or not.
  20. Wrong thread
  21. They might well have shot themselves in the foot with the time it has taken to implement this. It's not out yet and already old news. A belated addon to a yesteryear game.

  24. Nothing quite says 1950 and style like a big band . It's a shame the 50s is just before jazz got progressive and truly interesting Ben Webster was so smooth his sound made him cry on stage.
