I'm happy to have this option. The fact is, we'd just end up with two different ceremonies. One would be civil and the other would be religious. It's not really the business of government to reform the homophobic philosophies of many religious organizations. What is important is that the union between two people is equal under the law regardless of sex. There are churches out there who will join a gay couple and call it marriage, the heterocentric (is that a word) churches do not retain exclusive copyright on the word, and people who are offended by it basically just need to get over themselves.

There is no difference between what you term social democracies and other democracies other than the level of redistribution of wealth that has been agreed upon. The important distinction is democracy versus totalitarianism. Removing the term limit on the presidency and nationalizing key industries without proper compensation are not something generally observed in democracies. It constitutes a worrying trend. Hitler was voted into power remember. Power once gained is not so easily relinquished. Although in an unstable state, perhaps these movements away from democracy are inevitable.

If there are democratic elections the system of government is fundamentally democratic, not socialist. Chavez seems to be about to cross over to Socialism as a system of government, having eliminated the term limit on the presidency and moving to nationalize several industries. If his aim is to make the country independent of international banks and the crippling debt they can impose on developing nations, I'm fairly certain he is going to fail. I don't see what country could benifit from being completely isolated and completely self sufficient in today's world.

Unreal Tourney 3. Graphics are beautiful, the damage is now local, you can shoot the legs, arms, head etc. Unfortunately most of the options are gone, so is the last man standing mode. You can't have translocators in deathmatch (what,,, why) I also prefer playing with both scores and lives, so you are rewarded for not getting killed, no option for that anymore. I can only describe the phenomenon as consolification, only that doesn't make much sense, without the PC modders the series would cease to have such an amazingly long shelf life. Don't care about the various objective modes, excepting CTF, they are all a silly distraction from the main business of shooting things. The weapons are a bit disappointing too. For all that though, I'm still having fun.
