You don't need to be online to play it, just to activate the game. doesn't always work like promised though. i currently have one game (Stalker Clear Sky) which STEAM insiststs is 'unavailable' even though it's installed. Client updates also sometimes causes problems with the logon information you need stored to play offline, and you won't be able to play until you can log on again. I don't want to exaggerate, it's not a common occurrence, but enough to be annoying when it does happen.

I went and did something stupid and ordered the cat in the bag. pre-loading on steam now. If it sucks heads will roll. I'm sayin', it better not suck. m'kay...

Well, a peace prize based on results versus one chosen with the (vain) hope of changing things. The committee has a long tradition of being activist. To me it would be a completely pointless trophy if it was only after the fact, but to each hos own I guess. Trying a lot is not the same as succeeding a lot. Yeah but the Nobel prize is now for future deeds and not for what it has actually been done. I think that sunk in about when they gave it to Arafat and Rabin. Leave the cash prize and the pat on the shoulder for the doctors and poets, the peace prize is supposed to be reaching.

Depends on where it's headed doesn't it. If it's just digging a grove in the sides that's no biggie, it will just hurt occasionally, if it's about to cut your toe in half you might want to take drastic action.

How do you guard against players who are masters of hamstering. Are you supposed to ?. Anyway it depends also on what other perks are available on that level.

It usually works better to spin your own tale right up to the moment of release, after which you can't hide the truth from anyone anymore. It's safer than risking negative hype, especially of course if the game/movie/whatever sucks, but the PR folks will usually want to keep control of the narrative for as long as they can regardless.
