I'm not serious. I just don't think you have to be a parent to have an opinion about parenting. It's like when people go 'it's a black thing, you don't understand'. One of my sisters says she was 14 when she lost her virginity, I'm sure that kind of thing is a lot more common now than it used to be. I understand why fathers are over protective and I'm not going to argue that they shouldn't, that would be futile. I will suggest however that you can't shield your kids from life forever, and that trying to is likely to drive you further apart than the default distance for a teenage rebellion.

I am a figure of authority. I greatly respect myself. But authority isn't inherently good or bad, and certainly shouldn't be respected for itself. That's how people end up playing along with Totalitarianism. Here is a clear case of authority used for wrong, and you don't seem to care. I dunno, can you picture yourself heiling along with the crowd. (this would be one of them rhetorical questions)

So this little family drama is more interesting to you than abuse of power, which the officer is quite evidently guilty of. He is not supposed to arrest anyone without a warrant, this is pretty basic stuff. The boyfriend was obviously young and impressionable and unable to tell it was a charade, it must have seemed quite Kafkaesque.

It's not uncommon for bands to leak their albums early on PTP networks to create a buzz. We are talking about bands whose main interest is to get noticed of course. Right now the prime add space on The Pirate Bay is a plug for a free download album. It's perfectly legal, but the site providing the PR isn't. The top 100 music downloads on the same site reads pretty much exactly like a billboard chart though, so I don't know how genuine the notion of them being a grassroots launch platform for unknown acts is.

I much prefer the internet the way it is, as opposed to effectively enforced and comprehensively legislated. Anyway this is affecting the US, the home of the biggest champions of intellectual property rights. The rest of the world isn't going to follow suit anytime soon. As it turns out streaming content is extremely difficult to shut down for copyright infringement, as it has to be done on a per case basis, and even the music industry doesn't have that many lawyers. You might think that such apparently blatant disregard for copyright is unfair, but I'm not so sure you are going to like the end result of tough legislation either. Does anyone really consider the legality of every video clip they watch ?. Does the net belong to the users or to the copyright holders ?. I dunno, I suppose I can live with stepping on a few toes as opposed to youtube being emptied of content tomorrow.

They have a specific formula they have sold to the people who bailed them out of a bankruptcy. Doesn't surprise me that they are making every effort to produce a 'sure thing'. Apparently someone likes QTEs and is convinced they are integral to a success.

It's not like there is a wrong answer to the question of what kind of artistic flavor you like in a comic. To me it's adequate, but it doesn't excite me.
