  1. Are they hollow points, because that would make sense if you wanted a lot of brain trauma on impact. Or are those still illegal, I forget.
  2. I don't think there were that many glaring plot holes.

    Speedread

Sample size is much too small. The test should have had a couple of pages and averaged the result. Apparently I'm 28% better than Joe average. Of course being able to sit your ass down and finish is a much more useful ability. I suspect the fact that this is a test makes people read at breakneck speed which you would not maintain long in a real setting. PS: it's an ad for Kindle.
  4. Prometheus. That was some weird s.hit. Reminded me a bit of the recent reboot (actually prequel, but it was more or less the same movie sceene for screene) of The Thing. It didn't get the psychological drama constituent right either. Prometheus had a lot of very talented very expensive actors who just never really got to strut their thing. The directors cut might be better. You should still go see this thing though, it's not boring.
  5. And even if we got a perfect smog storm which actually started killing people, this has been known to happen from time to time in very heavily poluted areas, Who would know.
  6. Doesn't matter. I assume they are the kind of gimmick best left unexplained. I mean it's not like any of them are going ot have lines.
  7. wont the maggots who eat the zombies turn into zombie maggots, and indeed zombie flies. That would increase dispersal beyond anything we could handle, assuming the flies didn't have to actually bite you to transmit. Flies regurgitate their food, it's how they digest. A little scrape combined with a zombie fly and you would be turned in short order. Once zomnbie flies they would also lose interest in the already infected. Zombies only eat the living.
  8. Have been sleeping on The Borgias, it's at least as good as Game of Thrones but with better costumes. Glad I started watching it again.
  9. The only fluid i regularly consume is coffe, which as it happens is not as bad for you as previously thought. I take it with milk, no sugar, which has conditionedme to dislike anything really sweet such as soda or candy. They say it happens automatically as you get older, but I've had this dislike since forever.
  10. You will notice that they are commenting that it's a retarded meme.
  11. I suppose that depends on whether you think things were better before or whether there is a progression through individual liberty guaranteed for some, the abolition of slavery, the civil rights movement, and now gay rigths. If things don't better or move towards a logical conclusion of sorts, well then it doesn't matter how fast they move.
  12. You call that a lot. 20 years ago, and for the rest of the time the the supreme court rather than congress simply unianimously rule on civil rights activism, or indeed civil rights revisionism. In doing so they use obscure legal points that have little basis in real life to dictate the application of the law. Not at all unlike religous dogma. In any event you would think the application of law would not be so incomprehensible that it becomes a constant battleground. It should be the law itself that was subject to constant debate, not its interpretation. This is because the law is not allowed to change to reflect the society we live in, or rather you live in. Or at least not allowed to change fast enough.
  13. It can happen, but you hold it in the same regard as one would a religious document. One does not simply change the constitution. The constitutionality of this or that is constantly being debated, and with the document itself being largely unchanged it's very hard for people to understand it, so you need scholars to explain it to them, interpret it as it were. The rulings of the supreme court becomes the basis of law because politicians can't get it together and change what needs chaning.
  14. Those pumps are really slutty. Not bad.
  15. So hockey defense is a lot of standing around. You don't often hear of 42 year old footballers, well other than goalies.
  16. Odd institution. With appoinments being largely political rather than meriticious simply being bigoted or pro life/Roe vs. Wade would be a qualification in itself. We would be more inclined to simply legislate rather than have legal precedent be such a major determining factor.
  17. Don't click that, it's babies with their brains busted open.
  18. It's not like he's defiling an exquisite piece of cinema. Highlander was pretty goofy. The sequels even more so.
  19. Prometheus opens in less than a week. In a world of artificially manufactured hype that has you naturally leery I'm genuinely excited.
  20. We like to maintain tense in our sentences. I'm going to mark that as an error.
  21. I like how it says that imprisonment loses you the right to posess firearms. I bet the guards are happy about that one. For my money it depends on the crime. Political participation is part of what includes you in society. Many people don't care I know, but in principle. Having some small representation would also help ward off abuse in prisons.
  22. Memory errors are somewhat too common on Nokia and Motoroller Androids. Get the Samsung, you may come to regret not havning enough ram. Some Apps are finicky about expansion memory in particular.
  23. Too bad they're so ugly. You would think they could have come up with a more muted version for those who don't want a hotrod married to a cylon raider in the living room. But no, they're pretty much all like that.
