Why have an insurer. That's a middle man, siphoning off profit that could have gone to healthcare. Let the government employ the doctors. We have learned quite a bit about how this can be done more efficiently during the last decade of economic downturn.

Things every self-respecting man over 30 should have...

You shouldn't use a french press. Unfiltered coffee contains soot (from bean roasting) which is carcinogenic. Regular filtered coffee has lots of heath benefits on the other hand. Unless you factor in not getting enough sleep from drinking too much of the stuff. -

I approve of duct tape, but not because it's on the list, and as Orogun suggested the manly thing is to be your own man. ei. not be concerned with lists and women's magazine quizzes et al. -

I reject the concept in its entirety. -

Or an accident of birth, brain chemistry. The inability to emphasize and possibly a question of philosophy. Do you believe that things like good and evil exist. That there is such a thing as free will, or that the outcome of your life is determined by chance and factors entirely beyond your control. If that is your stance then actions may not have consequences and there may be no reward for being a nice guy. Fundamental rather than optional considerations.

So which is more desirable, the macro level approach to rehabilitation or the satisfaction of vengeance. The law needs to supply both or vigilantism would be the result. It does not, however, need to supply one at the cost of the other. When we are talking about the entirety of the justice system then these singular horror stories are statistically insignificant. As are individual high profile cases where one may feel that not enough punishment has been doled out, but they do contribute to a sense of deficit in the vengeance part of the equation which usually realizes itself in collective punishment.

It is strangely arousing isn't it. Can't be helped. I like the fact that you needed to know how old they were so as not to feel like a pedo while getting your freak on.

We have bunnies in our yard. One of them is completely fearless and will leap at you like something out of Monty Python. They scare off the wild cats whenever they are let out. They really do have (razor sharp) big pointy teeth and can draw blood effortlessly.

Don't go onto it blind I guess. If you are considering throwing a lot of money into it you should know everything you can find out about how it works and what the pitfalls are. It would be really stupid to lose money AND a friendship because you didn't have that information.

My feeling is if there is nothing at stake then nothing matters. If you can only die by losing your whole party and then have to reload, that is pretty close to having nothing at stake.

I just hope we forego the usual immortal joinable NPCs who have important dialouge down the line. Just as bad IMHO. Neverwinter nigths 2 handled all this pretty horribly. Matter of fact I don't think it was possible to lose any party members except in special cirumstances.

Serenity is a tiny transport. I bet there is no Millenium Falcon either. But : No Sajuuk, Bentus or Kushan ?. How could you have bloody Halo ships and no Homeworld ships. http://homeworld.wikia.com/wiki/Kushan_Mothership Event Horizon ?

Welfare costs money, so really the most important long term welfare policy is to ensure that the economy is sound. It is entirely possible to have a booming economy as well as a relatively large ammount of redistribution, but not if you keep spending money you don't have.

A trillion a year for ten years, or a trillion for ten years of healthcare. The difference is rather extreme.

It won't let me post just the numbers. Realistically you would have to raise taxes though. Is that trillion dollar cost genuine or is that part of the debate as well.

What what. You could pay for UHC six times with the defence budget. That's what. I reiterate my point about priorities.

At least do me the solid of having your facts straight instead of trying to score internet points by bashing the US. The most recent aircraft carrier, the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) "only" costs 6.2 billion to manufacture. Or about .62% the cost of the TRILLION dollar UHC. We could scrap the entire fleet and still not pay for this. http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/us_defense_spending_30.html So. a trillion is a million million dollars, A billion, which is what the indexed numers are I believe, is 1000 million. There are 6,360.5 of those in the defence budget. What am I missing ?

That and your system, administration, mindset etc is just not geared to a European model.. No matter how much we wanna pimp it It's more about priorities. Manly things like tanks and aircraft carriers will get funded before bums who can't afford to take care of themselves. The money is there.

Why not just take it out of taxes. The NHS is a much better system than ours and they pay less taxes so they must be doing something right. Have an aircraft carrier or three less. It will get you into less trouble as well.
