  1. Been reading a new manga that's on it's 17th chapter (it's weekly), but it seems that it had poor rankings and it's getting the axe (which is sad cause I liked it). Seem they let the author know, or he is pretty sure, because in the past 3 chapters he put the story in to warp drive (the final conflict is happening now). Now that is not really that strange as new manga get axed regularly and the authors sometimes decide to speed through the story, but this guy started to explain that the manga is getting axed through the story of manga itself. That is a first. I will laugh my ass off if the manga ends up not getting cancelled and he tries to write himself out of the hole he dug.
  2. What's wrong with taint. 😄
  3. Kiki's Delivery Service. Back to form, really liked this one too. Really heartwarming and sweet.
  4. This is the case more often than not, be it for anime or manga. Then again some fans have started doing machine translation for some series that no pro wants to pick up.
  5. Probably trying to get ahead of the fansub scene.
  6. It's not Netflix that producing it and the Japanese are very traditional, so I think it would take a lot of convincing to get them to release it all at once. Besides I don't know how many anime watchers in JP use Netflix versus cable network TV.
  7. Wait, why the hell are they not translating the side text... So much is lost without that... Yeah this is better watched elsewhere, where people put in more effort.
  8. They'll take our gaaarmsss...
  9. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. So far the weakest Ghibli movie for me. I think that if it was a little shorter it would have been better. The latter half of the movie kind of dragged on for me and I found myself skipping through some of the action scenes. All that being said it's still good, just that it didn't quite live up to the rest of them.
  10. Meh, a creepy white guy would have worked much better. Something like
  11. @Bartimaeus hahaha, while watching it I was thinking the whole time how you would dislike it as it was really random.
  12. Ponyo. The story of the fearless mother...scratch that, the woman was born with no fear. This one was a little trippy, in a good way though.
  13. I haven't either for much the same reasons as you. When FO3 came out I played it and wasn't impressed, so when New Vegas came out I just ignored it.
  14. I don't know if FK is still a thing, but they organized missions all the time. There are a couple of streamers too that make missions nowadays, but I don't know how much of a faff it is to get in to one of those missions.
  15. +1 for Children of Dune. Great mini series.
  16. It will to those who already play it.
  17. Castle in the Sky. I have a vague memory of watching this as a kid...more like a familiar feeling...the robots are the clearest memory of having seen this before... I have to say it was a pleasure, aside from it being a Ghibli production, it felt nice "rediscovering" it so to say. A couple of more to go. Been thinking maybe instead of watching the Grave of Fireflies, I give JoJo a go after this...
  18. I think the issue was that there was no room to include the last few previous post in the new thread. 😛
  19. It's even worse for the PS5 if you use their fancy vibrations.
  20. Finished Porco Rosso. I was really under the impression that Totoro and Porco Rosso where more kid oriented movies, but there really is something for everybody in them (although Totoro would be more child friendly (nowadays at least)). That got me even more interested tbh.
  21. I didn't catch that recommendation, I'll give it a go.
  22. I know, I meant after I finished Miyazaki's stuff and fill up on the good vibes I give it a go. It's been on my to watch list for a long time, but I know the story is gonna leave me a wreck so I haven't seen it yet.
