  1. Anything better than putting Deflection in Resolve. Though more logically I think it better suits Dexterity.
  2. You mean this? https://twitter.com/jesawyer/status/935581703900295168 That doesn't sound very specific or promising.
  3. Yes, I don't see people mentioning Deflection issue on Twitter or SomethingAwful much. It's a glaring issue though, imho. Spellcasters should not be better tanks than melee classes. Deflection has no place in new Resolve since it's supposedly gonna be more useful now even without Deflection.
  4. I don't want dump stats either. Why dance around it and over complicate things? Better to drop Resolve altogether. -Put all weapon damage into Might (Strength). -Put all health into Constitution. -Put all action speed and deflection into Dexterity. -Put all accuracy into Perception. -Put all spell damage, will and duration bonuses into Intellect. That's it, everything is useful, no dump stats. Resolve has no identity in the system. And, imho, no logic. Even from POE1 times it felt like it was shoehorned in just because AD&D had 6 attributes and devs just had to make something, but a bit different from Charisma.
  5. It doesn't look balanced at all and is unfair to non-spellcasters who will have to specifically invest in Resolve to get Deflection bonus, while squishy, no armor spellcasters can now pump Resolve and deflect like a boss. Feels stupid. Btw, people are hotly discussing Resolve issue here: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/94858-resolve-huh-what-is-it-good-for/?p=1957892
  6. I feel the same, it feels stupid.
  7. Imagine, a Wizard who pumps only Resolve for spell damage will also get high deflection. The squishy, light armor wizard. While melee characters, who should logically deflect more will get nothing unless they specifically invest in Resolve. That's stupid. Deflection gotta go somewhere else, I say drop it from attributes altogether and apply it only to armor, shields and protective spells or add it another attribute. This seems to be going more in the AD&D direction, may as put deflection to Dexterity, like how it affected Armor Class there.
  8. That was always the case. MIG/CON affect Fortitude; DEX/PER affect Reflexes; INT/RES affect Will. It was the same in the first game. Eh, you're right. Still, Resolve gets too many bonuses. It's looks like a big cover up to hide the fact that Resolve is a real dump stat but devs are too attched to it to simply drop it. Intelligence should affect spells logically, not Resolve. And I still reel from the fact that Resolve affects Deflection. And only Resolve. At least give it another attribute too.
  9. Wait, wait. Is this for real? Strength gonna replace Might? And Strength gonna affect Fortitude? What about Constitution? It also affects Fortitude. Is gonna be a dupe? And, dayym, Resolve gonna affect too many things! Healing, spell damage, Deflection and Will?! That's too much, and what is Deflection doing among affects for spellcasters? It should not be in Resolve then. Or it should also be added to another attribute then if we gonna have dupes, Perception for example.
  10. Yes, thanks for this clear info I hope devs rework all the classes and return rogue class his proper high tier dps-er role without multiclassing.
  11. Personally, I'd rather deflection wasn't attached to any attribute because they all sound unfitting, but instead was attributed solely to armor and shields.
  12. I am... I'm speechless. For real, I do actually think this is bloody brilliant!! It would make rolling up characters so much more interesting right now. Kudos to you, Brett! I think he's onto something here but I think that post should have a follow up - merge Might with Resolve and make it a single attribute. Since they kinda feel the same anyway when it comes to descriptions. No dump attributes that way too. POE doesn't have to copy AD&D and have 6 attributes.
  13. Eh? What's was the point of making that walking animation again? To tick a box in a checklist of "useless but cool things that are in the game"? Why would you want to move slow in a game if you can run fast to destinations all the time without getting tired? Personally, I never use walking in games unless it's some sort of stealth game and running is noisy.
  14. I don't like this, one attribute should not affect all types of afflictions, that would make it too useful. Right now each attribute affects 3 unique afflictions tiers and it looks simple and logical what attribute covers what affliction. Look in this post for more info: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/94587-racial-traits/?p=1953513 I think resolve needs something of it's own, not overlapping with other attributes. Injuries affect sounds better to me.
  15. It probably gonna be reworked, but right now I see no real reason to pump this attribute aside from roleplaying reasons and conversation stat checks. Are there any classes that noticeably benefit from it? P.S. Also, an idea - make Resolve affect the chance of getting an injury. Like, if you have high resolve you get a good chance of shrugging off the pain of injury, if you have low Resolve you'll get injuries 100% of the time. Maybe this can help with this attribute's usefulness and alleviate the brutality of injury system?
  16. I like this idea, backstab is indeed unfair to light weapons.
  17. So, is it true right now that Rogue is not the best dps-er? Aside from Assassin bonus from stealth (and big penalty) he doesn't have class abilities that deal with penetration. Seems like a very high maintenance class with all that stealth hurdles just to get a good stab at an enemy, all the while other melee classes in builds thread seem to have much more to offer without jumping through many hoops to both kick ass and stay alive. Kind of a bummer, and not just for rogue, but for all classes - the new penetration system is in but we still have old abilities from POE1 where there was no such system to deal with. I hope all abilities will be extensively reworked - more abilities added, general passive abilities added, penetration abilities\spells added for each class.
  18. Yea, I see, everybody wants to be an elf with cool hair all over the place. Can't say I blame ye, elves are awesome, I'm a sucker myself But seriously, hair strands, especially if they blend with the background are a total pain in the ass.
  19. Is this the biggest size you have? Here are two versions of my fumblings with them: Thank you so much! If it helps, I do have the original image I cropped to make that portrait: Made another stab at this portrait to increase strokes visibility: Version 4 (HD): Looks better in the game, imho.
  20. Maybe a bit better version:
  21. More waving hair strands? Ok, how about this:
  22. Ok, I've made another version, looks decent enough in the game. I can't do better - I'm **** with hair strands Version 3 (HD): P.S. Btw, the game scales larger pictures so you didn't have to crop your original picture, it looks better in the game when larger.
  23. Is this the biggest size you have? Tiny waving hair strands are absolutely killing me every time. I think for best results they should be painted over by hand, not processed. But I'm no artist or professional Photoshop user, so, tough luck . My only saving grace is that these portraits are so small in the game that crappy details are not very noticeable. Here are two versions of my fumblings with them: Version 1: Version 2:
  24. I'll put more effort into all this when I actually have the game. I don't have beta access and don't know the right dimensions. I'm sure you can do it. Surely don't need my help it seems
